Back to their best with the "Waffle" from the Villa report, if you ask me, the last few paragraphs are particularly poignant: Click Here (Or read below...)

You've already said that once. I echo the sentiment though, he frustrates the life out of me sometimes, but I'm not knocking 2 goals in 2 games from the position he's been playing. One outstanding goal that only he could have scored as well.

I enjoy it, feeding a sort of "them and us" mentality from what I can see. Fuck the lot of them. They have stories to write and allocations to fill, they need something to fill their quota, nature of the beast and all that. The more people realise that the papers are full of shite the better, let's just hope that they're wrong again.

That's absolutely superb. We were laughing at that Sunday morning, class stuff. We were laughing at that during the game/in the Trent afterwards. The only good thing in that fucking programme - the lack of Shepherd and Oliver has killed it, for me.

I'd rather have Anelka, please.

Was waiting for Man Utd to be linked with Owen/Martins, personally. Will be mighty peeved if either go, especially Obafemi, and I'm far from his biggest fan.

It's all bollocks? Surely NOT! -
Possibly, can't say I know what you mean. Sweeper who has license to come forward and act as a deep lying playmaker. Isn't that a Libero? Catenaccio is the formation in which he would play. That's right baby. In games like the one on Saturday a defender out of the two could play that role to a degree, anyway. I'm desperate to see Rozehnal in particular given a bit of an "Albert" licence to bring the ball out of defence, not to the extent of Philippe, but it would help us out massively going forward IMO, because yesterday there was no pressure on he/Taylor at all. Definitely a good shout and something I hope we look at when teams come and park 11 players behind the ball. Viduka versus two centre-halves is not going to cut the mustard. As for the question in the OP, talking from a SJP perspective against teams like Villa: Given Milner Rozehnal Cacapa Enrique Geremi Barton Emre Owen Viduka Martins Not jinxing the Belletti move by including him, same goes for Faye. Damien Duff is out for yonks, but would be pushing on top-form. My vendetta against Carr sees him ousted in favour of the undroppable Milner to raid from the RB position, my desire to see footballing centre-halves at some sees Taylor omitted in favour of the Brazilian/Czech combination and Enrique comes in on the left to add some more height/power to the team ahead of N'Zogbia. Charlie would get a place on the bench, alongside Harper, Duff, Smith and Ameobi, which looks full of promise to me, fuck defenders. Aye, not sure how that front-three would work exactly, but I think they have enough about them to perform well together, especially with that midfield behind them and two full-backs who can push forward effectively to provide them with some bullets. Would be exciting, if nowt else.

I'm looking forward to finding out what these geysers are up to. -

Not all of us have, bring back Rob from Steel Wheels, I say.

Pini Zahavi, lads, if you're going to debate about him at least spell the man's name right

Aye, closest we came to creating a goal was from his great pass round the corner. That was a delightful move on the whole, something we haven't seen the like of for a while. That pass was particularly lovely.

He's went along with it, actually... Or did you know that already? I knew that, I was just thinking of the worst pun possible Well, congratulations on finding it. Yep, I thought that might be the case.

I'm dancing, as I've said a few times elsewhere. Don't forget this 'keeper on loan as well... Could potentially be looking at 11 new players in since the end of last season, that must be a record?
-
If there's not a one-eighty-degree change (complete turn around) then they say he'll sign within 2 days.

Especially if they don't have previous convictions. Luckily for him, Being A Bit Of A Knob is not an offence yet.

My opinion on things, too. We were crying out for at least one of Barton/Emre on Saturday, in place of Butt first and foremost. i thought Butt was better than Geremi. Think you've missed the point a bit here, was referring to the fact that it was a home game against opposition that we should be beating and so it might make sense to take out the midfielder who offers the least going forward, i.e. Nicky Butt. As for the comment itself, Butt did a few more sliding tackles than Geremi, but his passing was useless and he offered nowt going forward at all. There is no need for him to be played at home against the likes of Villa, especially in a role where he doesn't seem to be the archetypal defensive midfielder. I'm not sure what instructions he was under, but to me he didn't seem to be playing either role particularly well and put in a decidedly "Parker" performance. Lots of sliding about and commitment, but killed the tempo of the game whenever he got the ball and his passing was atrocious, both short-range and long-range. He did have a couple of quality moments, as he always does, but that isn't enough to justify his selection in my eyes. People do love graft though, as Baggio keeps saying. Allardyce didn't really have a choice, mind, with the performance at Bolton and the injuries. I thought Butt played the firefighting role well - a role he was forced to play by the tactics we employed, and the inability of his team mates (very much including Geremi) to keep the ball. If we are going off that one performance, Geremi shouldn't get a start before Butt. But we aren't, and we know he'll get played. Just hopefully he'll be in a formation he's actually suited to soon. Butt has to take responsibility for giving the ball away as much, if not more, than anyone I'd say, so it's swings and roundabouts there, I'm hoping with Butt out of the line-up and a more creative player in we'll see a lot better from Geremi as well. It's not as black and white as "Butt played better than Geremi, he should play", I reckon Geremi is the better player generally and - like you say - will be an automatic first-choice anyway.

This is always the danger with the DOF/First-Team Coach set-up, especially with the ego involved at football's top levels. Not saying this is 100% true, but it must be a funny relationship to have, moreso than Chairman/Manager.
-
I thought it worked for both posts, myself As for 4-4-2, we did switch to it when Owen came on, but looked no better for it at all, not sure if we can play it effectively with Butt/Geremi in the middle and Smith and Milner on the flanks, it's not the most exciting-looking four I've ever seen at SJP. We're crying out for Emre already, and for Enrique to allow N'Zogbia to move further up the park. Those two players in the mix should make a massive difference to the midfield.

The maximum sentence for GBH is life imprisonment... ABH is 5 years... how often do you hear of people doing life for GBH or 5 years for ABH, though?
-
No, it's not, as I've explained before from first-hand experience:
