Would be great next weekend if: Manu beat the bindippers Man City Beat Villa and we crap on Tottenham from a great height!! Nice cushion between us and "the rest"
-
Just looking forward to him pulling apart the Spurs defence next saturday, albeit from a 70 minute cameo... Yes, I am Alan
-
No, he played 45 mins yesterday in a reserve game. Just testing his hams... Get santon on Pards!
-
After reports that Marv was on the right last night and nicked two goals I think Pards may go for: ------------Krul------------- Sims---Tayls----Cols---Rayls MARV--Tiote---Cabaye--Jonas ----------Ba----Best-------- Bring on santon and Ben Arfa second half to completely annihilate them (6-0)
-
If it's o0nly a slight pull he'll be back for next week, only a tear will keep him out for longer...Fingers crossed..Voodoo doll out, back of leg ripped to shreds>!!!

Mimi is an anagram of Ben Afrfa... after twenty odd pints Or she (has been mentioned that Mimi is female on here?) may just feel some sort of empathy with him as their country origins/social origins are probably quite similar?? I could easily be persuaded that he is an arrogant pr*** because so many other footballers seem to be and because of the shenanigans at Marseille. But innocent until proven guilty!!! (Please bring doctor's report Hatem!)
-
He's deffo a step up from Routledge and his main weaknesses are lame defensive tackles and covering, we maybe expect too much from him, he is what he is... Fast but limited winger... Marveaux seems to have more goals and better technique albeit only playing in second string games. Perhaps it's time to give him a chance whilst giving Obertan a kick up the backside also....
-
Main target has to be a left back, followed by a striker and then a centre back if ashley's feeling flush or Carr's spotted a gem...
-
I find it strange that he (pards) hasn't mentioned him in a while and that he hasn't even made the match day squads. He was supposedly shitt hot in pre-season, can't have become so bad in such a short time??

Pardew coming out yesterday that changing one player can make a hell of a difference to the team: "That’s always going to be compromised somewhere along the line, and there’s no doubt that one or two players coming into the team can change the character of it quite quickly." “That was evident at Nottingham Forest, when we conceded three goals – and two of them were quite sloppy ones.” ”You have always got to be adaptable and always got to be ready to understand that one player can make the make-up of the team very different.” ***But this can also affect the team in both a positive way or a negative way*** More risk obviously to change something that is working for you....
-
Don't know if Ben Arfa could be shipped out to the right, he's never played that role before... Bit unfair to shove him over there just cos' he's a name player. If Ben arfa comes on I reckon one of Ba or Best will deffo be subbed... Can't see Pards risking changing jonas over to the right to accomoadate either of Arfa or Marveaux...

Where's the best midfielder in England at them moment... or should I say tweeter? ahahahahahahahaha! Foff Joey!

Why don't we become "the new arsenal" i.e. free flowing football team with a lot of youngsters, no money being spent on transfers, only bringing in young special talents when it's obvious to everyone the positions that need revamped, challenging for the champs league but never getting near the league. Deed poll name change to Pardieu and we have the advantage that he isn't a moaning miserable cnut like wenger!!! Fukc that!... Entertainers Mk II.... Much better!!
-
I like Hoddle's yellow shirt...Coool (barf)
-
needs to be on the field against spurs, specially if aron lennon's fit.... Raylor will be just too slow to do anything against him (a la Wright philips...)
-
Big difference in the middle of the park: Cabaye and Tiote partnership = why we have best prem defensive record and they aren't too shabby going forward either!!!! Up front: we ain't toothless anymore. Ba has turned out to be a very shrewd signing and the size ten up best's behind has worked a treat... I think we were written off by quite a few of our own supporters, as well as those outside. The focus all seemed to be on the players we were losing, and not the players who were coming in. There are a few things that have improved, but the obvious one is we're not conceding many goals. I wouldn't say our back four has looked any more solid than last year, but in Tim Krul we have a young keeper who now has the confidence to go with his talent. If I was to point to any one factor, it would be him. The fixtures will get harder and the initial momentum will flag, but we actually have some good players waiting to come into the side, so the dip, when it comes, won't be as severe as some pundits are suggesting.
-
I'll go for: ---------------Krul------------------ Simpson---Taylor---Colo----Santon Obertan---Cabaye---Tiote---Jonas -------------Ba ----Best---------- Subs: Harps, Benarfa, Marveaux, Raylor, Abeid, SAmmeobi, Guthrie Hopefully we can give some of the subs a run out and put five past the yid-mackems!
-
I would go for the little by little approach: I would give Santon a game against Spurs as lennon is very fast and i think Raylor will get "bummed in the face" Bring marveaux on for obertan after 60/70 mins Ben arfa for whoever of the forwards who is knackered after 60-70. Wouldn't go for wholesale changes as the team is playing well as a unit at the moment
-
Yeh that might be the case... Bit of a conundrum for us tho': If he plays well and scores hat loads the price goes up and we won't move for him, if he plays cack aand does nothing we'll lose interest.... Happy days..LOL
-
It's amazing we are talking about having too many options for the bench when not long ago we had the likes of: alan smith, shola, guthrie (bad days), cambell, Perch
-
I agree completely with that analysis, he isn't an out and out winger and the fact he is a "right footer" playing on the left means his crosses will never be of top quality and he will tend to come inside a lot... One thing that stands out, he is full of confidence and his control at pace is outstanding... Falling back in man love again...swoooon!
-
Aye, if he keeps putting them away I think we will be out of the price range and fat boy will be kicking himself for not paying a measly 7m. Time will tell....
-
I would say it's easier to drop Obertan at the moment, shove Jonas over on the right and Marveaux moves into his natural left wing position than accomodating benarfa at the moment. We will just have to wait and see how Pards sees things in training, if he's scoring and turning things on their head in training then it could be time for Best to come off as Ba is now firing on all cylinders!"!
-
I thought we were a bit short on options to add a bit of steel to the team yesterday, bench was too offensive tbh. I honestly thought he would have brought on santon for obertan as he seemed to be making sloppy mistakes in second half and wasn't as decisive as in the first (could be said of all though). After the break we had no-one who could really _"hold the fort", Pards should perhaps have gone, as some of the above have stated, with ben arfa or marveaux into the midfield to give a counter like feel to the attack, this would at least convert us into a midfield five with faster outlets. I didn't mind ba coming off as best rarely loses the ball and holds it up very well, he's less of a goal threat but you don't mind that when you want to keep possession from the other side. Great first half and perhaps a bad bench to remedy the second half onslaught from them... Would Mehdi Abeihd have added steel to the midfield? Is he a more holding type than attacking>
-
thought Obertan should have been changed much earlier, too many lax errors and balls given away in our own half, he has top cut that ouit of his game. Nice little flicks and stuff in their half but not when we are all racing out of our half... ben arfa would not be suited to the situation we were in the secpond half. i wopuld have changed obertan for Santon late on to stop their attacks a bit more.
