I would like to see Guthrie and Tiote together, but at the same time we all know the Cabaye/Tiote partnership has gelled really well. Pardew has a dilemma on his hands when Tiote & Cabaye return as Guthrie has been MOM or close to in quite a few of our games recently!

There is nio way Pardew will play a 4231 or 451 when we have the two dembas at our disposal. It would be stupidity to play demba out wide when it is glaringly obvious his best position is playing as a second striker slightly deeper. I agree with what Pardew is doing at the moment i.e. fielding more defensive lineups until Tiote and Cabaye are back in the team. Ben arfa is an unbeleivably talented player but the way he plays i.e. taking people on, attacking first and foremost, means he will leave us exposed on the wing (only place for him in team now) even if he only "attacks" in the last third. The opposing defenders know that he is likely to take them on so they double up and suppose that they can get a quick turnover from him, most teams will train to get the ball off him and turn it to their advantage. We can see that over a few of the games he has played. If we had some more protection to cover those gaps (Tiote & Cabs) then I would be 100% behind having him on the wing. As a side note, I think it must be down to his training application, or lack of it, because in the games he does seem to cover as much as Obertan does for instance???

If he plays like this with Tiote beside him we would have a terrific central partnership.

    Papiss Cissé

I knew my idea was class!!!!!
  5. If he keeps scoring the way he does we should offer him both a higher basic plus a higher incentive bonus for every game he plays (taking knee into consideration). Would have thought the team would renegotiate the bonuses for league placement next year as we whould be aiming for minimum top six...
  6. Pardew needs to shore up our midfield tomorrow as that's where Villa's best players are, if Bent is up front on his own then we can have faith in colo. I would go with: ---------------Krul------------- Simpson---Willo---Colo---Santon Taylor----Perch---Guthrie---Jonas -------------Ba------------------ ---------------Cisse------------ I reckon we go with Perch as a DM so that Guthrie can push on a little bit, both Jonas and Taylor will give cover to our full backs and if we play the new boys up front >Villa wouldn't have a clue what to do. The only possible change I would make would be Best for Cisse...

How about singing Papiss Demba Cisse (repeatedly) to the tune of "one nil to the arsenal" (george graham era)

  9. 2600, hehehe. That is unreal! Hope it's true, should make for some good viewing and rofling at half time!!
  10. Why doesn't he just chip in 70 grand of his wage, that would be a much nicer and easier thing to do??

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Ben Arfa will rip Blackburn a new rear door this evening... Teed up by the Manic and marvellous Marveaux!!
  12. No discussion of streams, please. No matter how innocuous you think it is.
  13. Kadar is a complete unknown tbh... At least Perch has prem level experience even though he didn't exactly excell at it... HHmm
  14. Why on earth would he play smith, the bloke is just hanging on for more money and will be off this summer...Blood the kids instead of that tripe!!
  15. I think he will be serious and go for: ---------------Krul---------------- Santon----Perch---Colo----Raylor Marveaux--Cabaye--Abeid--Jonas -----------Ben Arfa--------- --------------Best-------------- Subs: Sammy, Gosling, Simpson, Vuckic, Ba, Smith, Lovenkrands, Oberman

    Hatem Ben Arfa

It's a cup game tomorrow so there's no way he'd be in the reserves team if they had a game today/yesterday..whenever... Wumtastic if you ask me
  17. Michael Carrick reminds me more of a Cabaye type of player than a tiote type of player?...¿
  18. yes, we all love city today for making Taggart look a right pr**k and putting his whisky sodden nose out of joint!! hahahaha
  19. Here's my thoughts on the game, although the stream was pretty crap: Krul - Excellent throughout and could well turn out to be the best keeper we have seen at NUFC, the only small complaint can be his sometimes errant kicks when under pressure. Simpson - Thought he did very well and not a lot got past him. He also supports obertan quite well but just lacks that confidence to run past him and take a defender wide which would open up more spce for us albeit exposing our right if caught in possession. Taylor - Did well in the air but I thought there were a couple of occasions when both him and colo didn't come out to meet the attacker quick enough, therefore letting them get the shot off Colo - Calm and collected but ditto the above. Raylor - Very solid again, If i were to play Santon for one of our full backs it has to be simpson. Raylor hardly ever lose possession when on the ball, his passing is that of a midfielder. Jonas - Manlove...hero worship and more!! MOM without a doubt. thy couldn't do anything against him. A couple of impossible situations with 2-3 defenders around him and he manages to slither through them... Swooon!! Cabaye - He kind of comes in and out of games but without lowering his performance, against there three in the middle he was running at shadows a lot. He seems to be growing slowly into the perfect foil for Tiote. Reminds me a lot of Xavi alonso (Madrid). Didn't overly impress me or underwhelm me but... What a goal though! Tiote - Major complaint are the scott parkeresque pirrouettes in the middle, he is getting caught too often with them, just pass it back to the defence if there's nowt on!!! Their midfielders pressured him a lot and he lost the ball a few times. Still a beast at breaking up their play and against three biggish lads he fared very well. Obertan - His control and touch are good, has fantastic pace...but can't make the decisive decisions and will not pass or run on the moments that he really should do. Bad decsion maker for me! Does the defensive covering and everything well but just frustrates you when you see the positions he gets the ball in and ends up doing nothing... Sorry but bench for stoke. Best - Really growing on me, even though he's a bit short on goals he is doing everything else very well. I would have preffered to see him with ben arfa for a bit against wigan as Ba was timid... Ba - Everyone has an off day... Think he is x100 better than in preseason but... Ben Arfa - Didn't lose possessionn like the other day, heard a few complaints about him passing ball back to defence, but if he hasn't any options on and the defender may have a better pass angle, he also draws two defenders out of the game. Boils my pish that some people just do not get the basics of football!! Does he merit a start yet? Would be unfair on both of our forwards but at Stoke I would prefer to have five in midfield so big Yes for me (for Best ) Marveaux - Pardew, i love your loyalty and the fact you don't want to break Ober's confidence...But it is gapingly obvious for all that this guy is on another level...FFS!! Wow, from the snippets I've seen, could be our star player quite soon!!
  20. Have a mate who supports Liverpool (from a distance) and he has perfect clarity on liverpools weakness at the moment: Midfield From having a midfield of Mascherano/Alonso/gerrard, they have a huge hill to climb. None of the current midfield are anything to worry about, even Gerrard looks well off the pace... I am over the moon about all this, really do detest the moaning mackem relations!
  21. If they all stay fit I would hazard a yes! We do look pretty tidy and we have a "reasonable bench" for once in a while... Even Shola's on form...FFS!
  22. Marveaux... what a toucvh on chest then perfect weight to Cabaye for wonder goal!! Good subbage Pards...well done!!!!!!
  23. I wouldn'tchange Best tbh, he is better at holding the ball up for our midfielders to then latch on to. Would probably fit better with Arfa, also think Marveaux needs to come on for obertan, he hasn't puuled up any small flowers/weeds (ahem!).
