  1. I almost believed you up until there If we don't laugh we will almost certainly cry.... Boo Hoo!
  2. Team for saturday (unless surprised): -----------Krul------------- Simps----Tayls---Colo---Ryan Barton---Tiote--Cabaye--Jonas --------Obertan--------- -------------Shola----------
  3. Been told by a really reliable "ketchup" that our left back bids will be turned down or "underbidded" by other teams and we will soldier on with "new signing" Shane Ferguson, or even newer signing James Perch (we haven't seen him for about six months!). We will also be looking to spend 100 million in the Jan transfer window as our powder needs to dry out, this due to the summer showers and grey cloud permanently over St James Sports Direct Park.
  4. I agree completely, Shola worked his socks off in the first half whereas Ba just seemed to jog ebverywhere, even the challenges for 50/50 balls. I was really unimpressed by him, which is probably what Pards thought aswell subbing him after 45 mins.... On the flip side he didn't get any service from the midfield, was this due to his slow movement or our crappy midfielders???
  5. Agree, totally lost the plot, and I thought he was also going to get a red card, massive sigh when he didn't... He was very influential in the game and was probably MOM material with Colo. He will cost us a match or two this season due to his stupidity/red mist but he will also most probably influence more than his fair share in helping to win them...

    Dan Gosling

Do you think he will be in the middle with Cabaye today? Seems to merit a place after his games in US???
  7. I thk that Nolan did a lot more than people are giving him credit for, he hardly ever put a pass astray (4th best passer of ball in Prem!), he covered passing angles and was very good positionally. Yes, his downfall for most of you was his size and lumbering appearance and the question of his fitness, which we now know he carried a knock for the latter part of the season. Jury's still out for me, but Cabaya could be great :)

    Hatem Ben Arfa

To be fair we hammered them llast season without him, i'm sure we can do the same again Who scored a hat trick in that game again ? And is he still here ? You're right, I forgot the only way to beat a team was to put out exactly the same lineup from the last time you beat them and wait for the exact same match to happen again. It might be to hold on to one of your best goalscorers to give yourself a better chance in the next game. Nah, would rather not have to rely on a bloke that was blowing out his arse after 60 minutes of most games to be hoenst. Better off replacing him with proper athletes. Fair enough as far as it goes, but how many of these proper athletes(presumably the close season signings) have you seen play and what are their goalscoring record like ? Well Demba Ba's isnt too shabby to be fair is it? Lets not forget, Nolans goals dried up big time when Carroll left, what was it, 2 after he left? And when he didnt score he didnt contribute, or contributed very little at least. It might have been a good idea to make some attempt to hold onto Carroll as well. SILLY MONEY I would rather have Carroll than the money, which we know isn't going top be spent. You can't sit and watch a balance sheet. Best response I've seen in a while. Makes sense aswell, which is a bonus!!
  9. He is as cool as... Nile take a leaf mate! P.S. Hate how Rio (aka Bernie's lips from Mo's tavern) has to be in the middle of everything....
  10. Like Cazorla a lot, big money for a Spanish transfer though!!
  11. Malaga looks like they might be playing exiting football this season. Have a soft spot for them and they have a large ex-pat support which makes games that little bit louder also...
  12. Seems to me that Luke Edwards is Ashley's and Lambiaass' new mouthpiece...
  13. I think we all forget the fact that Joey will be playing a lot of games out on the right or in a midfield 3 in a 4-3-3
  14. Class bit of stuff if it had gone in. Mnacini must have been at boiling point...hahaha

    Hatem Ben Arfa

The ben arfa "hidden fee" was paid from the AC transfer, apparently Mike and Decks had earmarked any future income to offset this transfer.

    Alan Pardew

I'd love Pardew to come out with something like "Yes, Jose is right, these tight fisted CBs have no intention of spending the 35 million, all this waffle about hidden fees etc is just to placate the plebs... Jeeesus, it is so easy to see, are you all really that thick. On a more positive note I have to say, we have done great so far and if the crocks we have bought hold out we may be on to a winner, specially if fat boy or sneering sid can get rid of them next year at a higher price." Enriques tweet has certainly pushed me over to the anti-ashley side until proved wrong... Oh well, my knees may stand up to it!
  17. I feel for the lad, I really do. To me it seems more like a case of them promising Enrique, and obviously quite a few others, that the money they got from the Carrol sale would be reinvested completely. Enrique follows this up by his refusal to sign another contract until it is demonstarted that they are telling the truth. Regretably, this is not the case, Newcastle have done a net spend of 0.5M and are looking to shift the crux of the team. He twits his grievances about this and I for one agree completely with him. Hopefully we will all be proved wrong and we will buy a striker to replace Carrol, a right winger likes of Nzogbia and a couple of defenders... Here's hoping!!
  18. They looked immensley better than us according to that video...
  19. They don't kill the chickens then...
  20. Because a large number of them are financed by generous benefactors who are happy to throw money at their clubs? Like Stoke and Wolves? Aye, righto. Ok - I'll try again - other clubs weren't trying to correct years of negligent ownership that had created an 100% unsustainable business. Any other examples you'd like me to bat back? How long are you going to bang this drum? Will you still be defending him in 2015 on the basis of "what Shepherd did"? At what point does it become his responsibility seeing as there isn't a contract at the club that wasn't signed under Ashley? I'd agree that there comes a point where Shepherd's mistakes become irrelevant (even if they did set off a chain of catastrophic events). But I am not sure that pointing out that none of the contracts at the club were not signed by Ashley makes a whole lot of difference. He still inherited a mess and has to try and clean up that mess. This will be a popular post. It has to be said if Ashley left the club tomorrow he would leave it in a hell of a lot better condition than the day he took it on. Healthier balance sheet but short on playing staff of right quality. But why worry about squad ability, its only a football club. Your putting words in my mouth there, I do worry about the overall squad ability. Try not to take my post out of the context in which it was made. edit: or should I say, I have concerns. I don't worry about it. There are two aspects to the club. Finance, yes we are in a better position. Team, we are a poorer side than the one he bought. Fundamentally I'd want to be enthused by the football rather than the annual release of accounts. That remains to be seen, but I suspect you'll be proved wrong on that. Even without the two more signings that will probably happen, I think we're stronger now than we've been for some time. If you gave me the option of Kevin Nolan and Andy Carrol in a straight swap for Cabaye and Demba I'm afradi that I would say we were in a worse position... Time will tell?
  21. print is too small for my eyes, anyone brief us on it¿
