I think we need three in midfield, the bin dippers looked to have discovered a bit of their old bite and midfield is crucial. I would go as far to say that Gordon starts before ASM just for his press.

I think the business done is great. 7.5/10 Gordon can play across the front three and ashby can provide cover for tripps as well as manquillo. Jonjo would only have been a late sub at best. If we get a cm or maddisson it would be a 10/10 window

I think that we all know deep down that Shelvey COULD HAVE BEEN a great player for us. It is nobody else’s fault, apart from his, that he has not achieved this. We have seen patches of form here and there but the bottom line is that he has consistently been average with a few peaks in between. No love lost here

If Eddie kept to the mantra that you dont change a winning team then it makes sense for him to start them both next week (Isak & Maxi). You have to rotate players depending on how tired/jaded they look and also to keep the opposition on their toes. I really would love to see them both start, absolutely bossed the southampton defenders.

Completely disagree with the above. We give them the advantage if we set out with a defensive mindset, allow them to think they will attack more. put them on the back foot, set out to win the game from the off and when we go a goal or two up we make changes for a more robust set up.

A couple of signings needed to lift us up again. Although we “controlled” the game to a majority, we were never at the races until isak and maxi came on. Joe is far better left cm snd maxi in front. felt sorry for willock as end product was awful but the intent was there. Bruno also had an average outing as well as Big dan who looked a yard off.

Don’t know why all the negativity, last season he was the best player they had by a long stretch. If we are interested in him it will be because we have studied him to the nth degree and have decided that he will improve the team. Then Eddie and co will have given the final vote after more hours of analysis. Leave to the ones in the know and get behind their decision.

Nico williams is great going forward but has no clue about defending. Have watched him come through at Athletic and go to all home games. would suffer the same as Maxi tbh. Exactly the same faults and same strengths. easier to keep maxi tbh

TBH I would rather Maxi started on the left today and Joe dropped into midfield. We have lacked a cutting edge up front lately and I think Maxi must be chomping at the bit to show he merits a place in the team

Gordon fits the "mould" that eddie likes for his players, the only doubt I would have is his personality (in training, with team mates, off pitch activities etc.). What we see on the pitch is a nasty hungry player who also does a shift... This is what we want if the background checks on all the rest are good!
