Terrible backpass by Nolan, in so much space..
-
Pedersen, wasn't it? I hate him for a reason, think it was that. Both in separate games I think! Gallagher in 03/04 and Pedersen in 05/06.

Taylor and Simpson getting destroyed in the air. Better not concede too many corners

He's not a regular type of winger that gets to the byline and puts in crosses, but rather the pullback type that plays it short and gets goalscoring opportunities for players on the edge of (and around) the box, it seems. I can't remember him putting in a good cross, but whenever he's got the ball at his feet it seems like it's really hard to get it off him for the opposing defenders - he really can be a joy to watch at times. The reason he gets alot of flak, I think, is because he runs himself into a corner - and this happens because there's noone following up, or he can't find and pick the pass because his teammates are not in the positions he expects them to be. I really don't think he's used to the english style of play yet, and I'm betting quite alot of that is down to the non-existent tactics we've had since Kinnear came on, and obviously the lack of drive and pace in our central midfield, noone making runs forward etc.

The poor guy hasn't played in a real match for forever. I think he could do well. Looks to have a lot more pace and mobility, which could be useful. Less than 10 matches in nearly a year. Never really had a chance, and tanked confidence I'm guessing.

Penalty? Handball!

The lookalike is going for a hattrick!

For all we know he is. Come to think of it, it makes sense.. A 10 year old girl wearing a fatsuit.

Says alot when Steven Taylor is the one making the runs on that side.

Someone probably already responded, but it's June 2011, according to nufc.com I can't see any good PL club wanting him, so it's probably one of the promoted, and I can't see any of them matching the wages he's at here. What's the incentive for him to leave? And to a club that is likely to go down at that? At this point he's also one of the few players to bring any sort of pace to our team. 60k or not, if we have a team without pace we'll be lucky to stay up. And the odds of getting a replacement in if we sell him aren't too good.

My thoughts exactly.

I think that's true for the majority of the squad, tbh. Some are more affected than others, but it's pretty obvious that people who come from foreign countries and are trying to adjust will suffer more than someone who's been here for some time. I've got to say I feel for him. He was thrown into the deep end, and although he looked bright at the start, he has not turned out to be what our backline has needed for several years now - some leadership, determination and class. I'm sure he'll end up going to a decent club and play good football again, this club has just not been a good match for him is all.

Nolberto Albino Solano Todco (born December 12, 1974 in Callao), commonly known as "Nobby" or "Ñol", is a Peruvian football player who plays for Universitario de Deportes. From wikipedia. edit: I think he'd make a nice addition for a championship team. Still hoping we won't be though

I'd say a keeper who is often under pressure has more chances to show his skills than a keeper who has a good team infront of him. Harper is average, and barely even that. He's not got the Robson-era team to bail him out when he makes mistakes now.
-
I think he's been massively restricted both in movement and style by some mystery role Kinnear had planned for him. He actually ran today. Without looking like someone turned the ground infront of him into tar, wearing lead-boots. That alone is worthy of praise. The midfield four from today needs to be the midfield four starting the last two games. Not that we'd have any other really viable options.

And to be fair, they were excellent at it. I thought we generally passed the ball alot better than we've done previously in the season, but today we were banging our heads against a brick wall, bar two or three real chances we had. They knew we'd come flying out of the traps, and they pulled the tempo down, wasted time, frustrated us. I hate to say it, but they were good. Fucking cunts

A creative midfielder. Not a runner. Not a grafter. Not someone who can 'break up opposition play'. Someone who can actually pass the ball more than 3 feet, and provide some sort of weight offensively. It's something we've been lacking badly for several years now.
-
Counting on it to happen to Harper, really. He's a decent goalkeeper, by all means, but nothing more than average in any department - he's prone to make errors like these. What baffles me is how noone was able to track Bent's run. Noone even looked interested.

No, you're right. Annoying as hell. First time I'll ever think this out of a forum context, but they really are a bunch of WUM's the lot of them, fans and players alike Got some newfound disrespect for some of their players today as well! Always figured Etherington had to be a bit of a thick prick, but he by far convinced me today.
