Is the ban effective immediately?
-
They already said: Basically, for them to pursue something after the ref has already shown a yellow, the infringement has to be clearly premeditated. If the ref hadn't seen it and not awarded a yellow, they could've given a red after. I'm with midds on this one. Think people are getting too worked up about the consequences of the challenge. I do think Morgan is a grade a prick tho, and deserved a red.

That's what's so frustrating, in my eyes. He could've went for any manager out there - I think at the time, most of us would've taken your regular Steve Bruce or Paul Jewell, or close to at least - but he chose the dearest one to the entire fan base, so in the end there was only really one possible outcome of it all. I just want it all to get sorted. If that means him staying here and fixing this whole mess then that's fine.

What I fear the most after this game, is that the ownership situation is not sorted out before the transfer window in january. We're desperately short of class in certain areas of the pitch, and we're desperately short of a manager with some semblance of tactical nous. Call it kneejerk if you will, but the performance today tells me we're flirting with relegation.

Quite amazing. Not sure the ref would allow a penalty like that though...?

RIDICULOUS decision. He got the ball!

Fantastic. Red card and penalty.

Just recently finished it. Great read, and some valuable insight into how things are run in football, our club in particular - not to mention the differences between a continental setup and the setup being used in english clubs. Couldn't help tears welling up at times, considering where he's at now, and what's happened to him during decades of managing, and also considering some of the disrespect he's been shown in clubs he's been at.

REALLY bad. Hit from the left wing into the box, he was completely clean on goal with the keeper stranded. And he put it past the post, from inside the 6 yard box. Horrendous.

Haha, what the HELL Iwelumo?!

Emphasised by the fact that he kept moving away from Riley. I'd love to think the card was for dissent, cos that would show they actually do react towards it, but I know it's too far fetched. Everton weren't going to get back on level terms anyway, nevermind win it.

I'm constantly refreshing it now. Great fun!

Praying that this has all been a witchhunt to smoke out some 'club insiders'. [conspiracytheorymode]

Dunno if it's been said before, but... Maybe this is the 'wow signing'?

There's not a single person in the world of football I enjoy listening to more than Keegan. Sir Bobby Robson comes close, mind.

This. Every forward wastes some chances in the span of a game, and to be fair Milners' have had good direction. If he keeps trying, he'll score, simple as. ...and he didn't even try!

It was Rozenhal. Although I agree with you that he looked solid enough the rest of the game, and to be fair they were put under quite a bit of pressure after the goal. I'd love to see him come back and succeed, seeing as he has alot of the attributes required to be a top PL defender. If he could lose some of those Bramble-esque tendencies, he'd be mint.

Everton and Roma interested in Joaquin, according to Sky. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3528528,00.html

Absolutely disgraceful performance by Bennett, and one that has already been swept well under the carpet it seems.

Definitely one of the best goalkeepers currently in the league, but it's quite a step from the norwegian top division to the premier league. He just turned 29 as well, not exactly one for the future. If we're gonna look at players from Tromsø, we should be checking out Tore Reginiussen. 22 year old central defender who's come on leaps and bounds since becoming a first team regular, and just recently made his debut in the national team - albeit not a good one. His contract is up next fall, and he's already made clear his intentions of moving clubs, preferrably abroad. From watching him since he started playing for Tromsø, I'm quite convinced he'll be a national team regular within a few years, got great pace, is strong both on the ground and in the air, and got a great tackle. Would be relatively cheap as well.
-
Why is everyone bumming Bullard all of a sudden? He's average imo. Fuck Crouch as well, would prefer someone with a bit of ability in air. All of a sudden? He was good for Wigan, and he's been good for Fulham when he's played, hasn't he? He'd improve our midfield by miles, although that probably says more about our midfield than his ability. Likely to be relatively cheap if they go down as well.

Anyone watching Man Utd - Liverpool? I have to say I agree with the commentators, very refreshing to see players stay on their feet rather than going down to get a penalty. Even though Rooney is somewhat of a cunt.. Would probably have been a dubious penalty anyway. edit: Probably should've put this in the SUPER DUPER SLAM BOWL TASTIC ULTRA-thread actually, apologies
