  1. Believe i read it was about 25th May...after that there is no compensation payable to Spurs
  2. Reliable source or you actually know? From the risk team at Barclays. It's second hand info I concede but I 100% trust that I'm not on the end of a wind up myself. Reason they would be informed is in the covenant for the loan/overdraft - change of ownership in the business is a material event. Does nothing for the timing mind, still got to keep glued to SSN for that That timing kind of fits in with what I was told on Friday. Charnley I’m told rang the club on Friday after the PL meeting to say that it was all approved and that they were waiting for the rest of the funds to be released. I’m aware of who was told this by Charnley and it came to me via a chain of only 2 other people, no friend of a friend type of chain either. I’m still hoping we hear something this week but if Friday was the approval day then the money transfer may not have started any process until Monday. Here’s hoping, I’ll be gutted now if this gets stopped. Not doubting any of this, but wonder why Caulkin is still saying the PL is still looking at it and it’s likely not till next week....mind you even Caulkin won’t necessarily have any more ITK than anyone else..perhaps we are putting too much faith in Caulkin’s connections with Staveley....Here’s hoping Tsunami is found to be correct.
  3. Translated if interested:- EXCLUDED - Mercato: Pochettino very close to Newcastle! Posted on May 6, 2020 at 7:31 p.m. by Alexis Bernard Priority target for the coaching position, Mauricio Pochettino would now be very close to the Newcastle bench! The Newcastle shortlist has been refined in recent days for the position of coach. And the names of Rafaël Benitez and Mauricio Pochettino were clearly the most advanced so far. Two profiles that appeal to English leaders and possible future new investors of the club (Saudi funds, with colossal means). According to our sources, a dossier is clearly gaining momentum and that is that of Mauricio Pochettino ! More than ever in pole position Free since leaving Tottenham , Mauricio Pochettino is Newcastle's priority for the position of coach. And according to the various sources that we have requested, the Argentinian technician would be very close to becoming the next Magpies coach. Negotiations are said to be at a very advanced stage, and unless the situation turns around, on both sides, Pochettino could resume service in the north of England. This signature would clearly symbolize Newcastle's new ambition. As revealed by le10sport.com, an XXL project is taking shape for the club of Allan Saint-Maximin . Recently, a contract proposal was sent to Kalidou Koulibaly, the Naples defender, with a salary of 12 million euros per season . A colossal amount which lets glimpse pretty crazy perspectives in a context of Covid-19 which plummets the morale of many clubs.
  4. Yes, I well remember the winning "Inter-Cities Fairs Cup" run of 1968/1969. Then the "European Fairs Cup" runs over the following two seasons (1969/1970 and 1970/1971). Losing out to Anderlecht the previous season...losing the first leg 2-0 but 3-0 up late in the second half only for Anderlecht to score a late goal and winning on away goals rules....one of the worst feelings I’ve ever had in football. Yes, that Anderlecht Match. WHAT an atmosphere, so loud "United" / "United" / "United" endlessly. Then, we had it won until Nordhal swiped at the ball with the foot he normally only used to stand on, and we (the holders) were OUT. Me too, one of the worst feelings . . . If you can remember, in injury time The Mighty Wyn bundled the goalkeeper plus ball into the net...he was not in the air but standing on the line...I immediately looked at the ref and for a moment thought he’d allowed it....Ecstasy followed by depression in an instant.
  5. But then the TV companies could argue they didn't get what they paid for. Not only missing out the title decider, but also promotion conclusions and relegation deciders as well. If you pay to watch a film, you'd be pretty pissed off if you had to leave before the end. Getting a discount off the next season isn't really a replacement. Also, the Premier League itself is going to have to pay for any discounts or refunds, so bottom line is, the clubs will end up paying it, and ultimately that has to lead to lower wages for players. What about allowing them to show more games next season and more games in the run in for the end of season......no discounts or refunds just extra games to show giving them more commercial tie ins for adverts etc Well, I'm sure you could come up with some creative solutions which might satisfy some parties. But there is also talk of West Brom and Leeds hitting the PL with a lawsuit if they are denied what looks likely promotion. There is a major headache here on a few counts if the season gets cancelled. There’s no easy answer...Damned if you do,Damned if you don’t....Personally like to see season scrapped..no relegations, top 2 of each division promoted...unfortunately i believe the PL rules don’t allow 22 teams.

  8. Glad I grew up in the 60’s with Joe Harvey.....Wyn Davies and Inter Cities Fairs Cup Runs.
  9. $$$ Exactly. The relegation threatened teams will obviously have selfish reasons to cancel the season, but ultimately they will be cutting off their noses to spite their face. Clubs, and their footballers have all grown massively rich on the back of tv deals, if the season gets cancelled the money to pay back Sky will have to come from somewhere. Not to mention it will mean a much lower value deal next time the rights are sold which will ultimately come back to bite all of these clubs and players in the arse. Not sure why they can’t offer Sky/Bt a better deal with regards to coverage for next season as a sweetener for them not to demand a refund for this season....There’s probably a reason why but if they don’t ask...
  10. Well if nothing else the Saudis have suddenly taken a deep interest in some of our old highlights...this a few hours ago.
  11. Come on man, who doesn't love a bit of plane watching nonsense? It's the perfect start to the week. Brill....keeps you on tenterhooks until the next rumor appears
  12. Yeah agreed and if relegation is to stay how can it ever be equitable if, for example, Troy Deeney comes down with Corona and is unavailable for two weeks and even then not fully fit and yet Villa all stay fully fit? Totally agree.....also playing at a neutral venue does not make an even battlefield.....Toon v Liverpool at St Jame’s...got to at least fancy a chance of getting something from the game, at a neutral venue we’d get dicked...Villa have Man City,Liverpool,Chelsea and Man Utd at home....playing all of those away from home advantage does not equate to fairness, especially as some teams will already have played these teams at home.
  13. Quite a few of us are a bit twitchy at the moment(Include myself there)....as mentioned in many tweets none of us is ITK although i think a few like Tsunami know a bit more than most of us...I suppose it’s time to chill out, don’t get drawn into too many arguments and wait till better times happen.
  14. Not much to say...just fed up of the shite on the other thread...thank goodness those non believers don’t come on here and leave us to our positive moods.IMHO the takeover will happen next week...lets rejoice that the last time of our beloved leader is fast approaching...roll on the “Rise of the Toon”
  15. You the Boss here now like? Also, can you point out where I've said anything about asking people for proof of anything? I've merely stated that people are justified in feeling anxious given the character involved in selling the club. I've not claimed the period of exclusivity ends on a specific time, but said that reports from both ends indicate thats the case. Wind your neck in daft lad. Can you 2 not set up a thread “Negative Optimism-The Saudi Non Takeaway Edition”, then you and all others can discuss this in a different thread and leave us believers alone
  16. It’s this one...however it is nothing to do with the House of Saud but a web site set up by other interested parties...nice piece mind you https://houseofsaud.com/saudi-royal-family-news/
  17. Well i like it....can i put it across to the Positivity thread...cheered me up
  18. MBS’s brother just started to follow us on twitter and Instagram....apparently confirmed that is a legit account
  19. End season now...no relegations...top 2 teams each division down to national league promoted....no play offs(All teams in positions 1&2 in those divisions are there on merit)....Unfortunately Premier league will have 22 teams and more games for season 2020/21.....5 teams relegated from premiership......give sky sports/ bt more games for next season as a sweetener for cancelling this season........too many problems starting to become an issue with carrying on this season.
  20. Would only affect the leagues feeding into the national league.....National league, leagues 1&2 and Championship would have the same numbers...agreed Premier league would have 2 teams more....more games in 2020/21 season but if 5 teams relegated instead of 3, premier league back down to 20 teams.
  21. What tomorrow....didn’t realise its another bank holiday?
