So teams deserve to be given reprieve from relegation or not allowed to be promoted just so next season can start as normal..... As i mentioned earlier, teams in the top 2 positions in all the leagues would be promoted. Just no play offs.
-
Just using that as an example.i’m sure villa,Bournemouth etc wouldn’t like to be relegated because the season was rushed through just to placate the media.

Renegotiate

Everyone to their own opinion...I’ll stick to my guns for all the reasons explained. And will you all be of the same opinion when Pork Pie Chops f**** up the remainder of the season behind closed doors and we sneak into the relegation places.Teams don’t deserve to be relegated purely to just finish off the season at all costs.
-
Why do we have to finish this season.......Liverpool are champions, no relegations....current leagues position stands.Even if they are allowed to restart in June/July, the players will have had a longer close season than in a normal situation.Fitness levels will be low, training at home does not replicate full aerobic team training. There would have to be at least 3-4 weeks of pre season type friendlies to get everyone back to fitness levels. Behind closed doors or at a neutral venue does not reflect a fair contest Bournemouth v Leicester with no crowd hopelessly advantages Leicester...Norwich v Chelsea, AV v Liverpool....the home team would have expected a slight help. Is it fair that we’ve played all but Man City away and those teams in relegation positions against similar away venues now get to play them on a neutral ground. There are so many other reasons where clubs will be disadvantaged....I would hate to be relegated because Pork Pie Chops couldn’t gets his players motivated enough to get any more points etc etc.No for me, end the season now, prepare teams for the new season whenever it might start....oh and what about lost revenue for this season....we’ll how about try and negotiate a better deal for media companies next season, as a one off, to compensate them for lost revenue this season.....Rant Over!

Only for one season....though I agree it’s not ideal

SOME OF THE OPTIONS CONSIDERED Null and void the season End the season now Set a deadline for completion Play behind closed doors The season that goes on and on They seem to have missed out another option. Finish the season now....but no relegation in any league. Leeds and WBA promoted to Premiership. Coventry and Rotherham promoted to Championship. Crewe and Swindon promoted to League 1.Barrow and Harrogate promoted to League 2. All these promoted teams are top 2 in their division by merit, teams behind do not have games in hand. Play 2020/21 season in premier with 22 teams...more games i know, but offer Sky Sports/BBC/Prime Tv etc more games to view and some of them at 3pm..this carrot might offset them from asking for money back for 2019/20 season. At end of season Premier league has 4 relegated teams, and championship only promotes 2 teams, thus bringing premier back to 20. In Championship/League 1 and 2 only winners automatically promoted, whilst teams in positions 2-5 have playoffs. Personally i would hate to see this season played out just to accommodate the media, and i believe it would be unfair on teams in relegation positions to have to play games either in neutral surroundings or with no fans.....that negates all the advantages a team may have by playing at home in front of a big crowd....Anyway just an idea but i can’t see the government allowing 50000plus to gather for a match up and down the country for many months to come....and as an extra incentive..Sunderland miss out on promotion and have to spend a third season in League 1

Absolutely spot on.

Match 28 last year was against Burnley(we won 2-0) giving Rafa 31 points and 13th Position......assuming we lose next Saturday (v Burnley) we will have 31 points, a vastly poorer goal difference and possibly 15th place(at best 14th).Perhaps then the media will stop comparing how much better we are this year than last....I’m not holding my breath!
-
I was just about to post something to that effect. Anyone know what week we could start being 'worse off' than we were last season? Wonder, when that time comes, if the skid marks in the press will bring last season in to the conversation as much as they currently do. After 28 games, 26TH February 2019 we had 31 points

but if you’ve got nothing better to do....

Thought I’d resurrect this thread, now that I’ve found it again.....PLANES AND HELICOPTERS....don’t open it if you’re bored with all the excitement.
-
Can we resurrect the “Braindead” thread.....apparently big john from Gateshead has some new vital Twitter information about the unveiling of the takeover.

I hate Bruce as much as anyone, but apparently everyone was given the chance to fly back or get home by train.Got to admit, if it was me, I wouldn’t have flown during that Storm. I don’t think there’s any significance to this, though I’d also would want to spend as little time with Bruce as possible and if given the chance, would also have taken the train.
-
Last years teams that went up are bottom, second bottom and 6th bottom......teams that come up from 3rd tier have as much a hard time staying in that division as teams promoted to the premier have. The gulf between league 1 and championship is immense.Unless Sunderland were to spend a fortune(which they don’t have) they’ll struggle to stay up.
-
It’s just down the road from me.....it’s a former 18 hole golf course. They’ve managed to keep some of the holes and therefore a 9 hole golf course after training for the players.....What do we have...a plastic pool and wheelie bins for their entertainment.
-
I used to commute up from Nottingham every other week until the Keegan fiasco.Swore I’d never go back until Ashley left...still waiting.Used to watch the match on Telly when Rafa was around....not watched a single match under Bruce, won’t watch another game till he’s gone. Still follow the scores and read the forum daily and sadly want to believe every time there’s a fakeover....but I’m very gullible.

How about “The Gulag”
-
. Early September to Div 1 and 2,Scotland or the continent
-
Exactly why Championship clubs should have been allowed at least a couple of weeks to get loans in from the premiership.Every Premier team will have a host of players not in their 25, now looking for work and only able to go to Div 1 and 2,Scotland or the continent.
-
Doesn’t need to be included in the 25 as he’s under 21.think he’ll be part of Bruce’s Squad and used in cup games etc.
-
Longstaff will be home grown won't he? He’s older than 21 so needs to be part of the 25. He's 21. And 11 months...you have to be under 21! You have to be 20, then? Correct Not correct. Anyone still 21 on 31st December counts as U21. Unfortunately Longstaff will be 22 so has to be in the squad I was close!! Anyway i knew Longstaff had to be in the squad.......Shortstaff on the other hand !!!
-
None of our 25 should go out on loan until the ginger twat has moved/absconded/permanently injured....just in case!
