  1. Remember there is a play-off round before you reach the League Status in the Conference League…..Therefore always a risk that you bugger it up and don’t reach the League Rounds….Would prefer Europa or CL as you know for definite that you are involved in the League set up.
  2. To round off a good day….we now can’t be relegated😀
  3. Forgot that…..Wasn’t that the Drogba era
  4. Add to that the 2 previous finals of 1955….Man City and 1952…Arsenal…You have to go back to 1951 when we didn’t face a “Sky 6”😜
  5. We’ve not lost a 2 legged semi final as far as I can remember…..Rangers 1969, Spurs 1976, Southampton 2023 and yesterday.
  6. And faced the top 4 (at present) on the way…That must be some kind of record……Wonder in any other team have had to face the top 4 during a cup run??
  7. Agree, it might not happen this month, but they’ve had 5 months to identify transfers.
  8. Only 11 teams in the league, so each week 1 team doesn't play…Yesterday was Newcastle’s turn.
  9. Just want to add my huge thanks to them both…..think back to the dark days of COVID, when we spent 18 months on the keyboard, constantly checking for updates…….that day in May, when we heard that PIF had dropped out of the purchase and the feeling of being with FA for eternity…..BUT no, after prolonged efforts by lawyers and support from Amanda we held our nerve and reaped the rewards…..There ought to be a statue to AS in years to come as a thank you for ridding us of the evil fat bastard…….Whatever you get up to in the future, here’s hoping for a healthy and long future ahead of you…meanwhile I’m looking for a new profile photo 😁
  10. Google FA Player and sign up to it….Streaming now.
  11. I understand your point of view…..But without AS, we’d still be under the FB’s control, so a loan is a small price to pay to be rid of him and have new owners.
  12. They joined up with Basildon Women to create Hashtag United. 2nd behind Portsmouth in National League South so not a bad side apart from a stupid name.
  13. They are….Huge queues of people when I arrived to try and get in the Travelodge next door?
  14. In a change from previous seasons, both winners of the Northern and Southern Premier divisions will be promoted to the Women's Championship. The bottom two teams will be relegated to the appropriate fourth tier FA WNL Division One.
  15. Winners automatically Promoted
  16. Next year the lasses are in FA Women's National League North……That is tier 3, below Championship and Super League.
  17. My first ever away game. FA Cup 4th Round 1967. I was too young to go into pubs, so spent most of pre match wandering around Trent Bridge as the city Centre is quite a way out from the football ground. Just prior to kick off it was announced that Wyn Davies was injured and didn’t play….and we got hammered 3-0…Hated Forest ever since, even though i now live only 10 miles from Nottingham.

    In memoriam

2 left from the original 11…Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst(Sir)
  19. Sorry Optimistic…..Badly put….Didn’t mean to be Rude…..Trying to explain that Rumour had been around for a while…Must double check my posts in future
  20. google it….Express and Sun have had reports of the transfer 2 weeks ago.
  21. We could well have stayed up last season without Wood and saved £25M….however we really don’t know what effect his signing had on Howe’s tactical plan and whether relying on Gayle would have proved to be just as successful….What I do know is that £25M is a price worth paying for our survival last season, one we may or may not have achieved if we didn’t gamble on his transfer. He may now be a bit redundant and 3rd choice in the pecking order, but I for one, am glad we went along the road in his transfer. He won’t get any stick from me, as he’s highly unlikely to make that many appearances for the rest of the season….I’m just grateful that with Wood in the team last season we not only survived but nearly finished in the top half of the table.
  22. Apologies Mazzy………Seems you were right about the go ahead for this deal was Monday, after news of the Wilson injury.
  23. What is interesting IMO is that these negotiations have probably been going on for a while, at the same time we’ve been negotiating a deal with Watford as well. Either we are still interested in both or the Watford deal was a second option if the Isak deal failed.
