Jonas was on a yellow too! So he takes off probably our best player on the day and asks an aging midfielder on a yellow to play out of position to mark Walcott.

Has to be Bosingwa, we wouldn`t have scored in open play and we lost to Arse, havn`t done the maths to see if 0-0 would have been enough regardless but at least he made the last day of the season slightly bareable.

I noticed yesterday more than any other games this season where we were countering on the break, once was Tiote, once Goufy and once MBiwa where we got past the halfway line, the player looked up and there was no one ahead of them and it went back. This is where any other team would have gone on and threaterned goal or scored but no nearly every West Ham player got back before any of ours got ahead of play. I`m sure we have faster players but it didn`t seem it yesterday. Again not countering but if Ben Arfa, Cisse or Goufy did it all themselves, they would look up and see no one in black and white ahead of play.

NEWCASTLE United owner Mike Ashley is handing £100 million-worth of shares to high street staff this summer. Some 2,000 workers at the his SPORTS DIRECT empire will get more than £50,000 EACH given the surge in the chain’s share price. The staff were promised the shares in 2011 after the group smashed profit targets. At the time the award would have been £30,000 given Sports Direct was trading at around 250p. Yesterday they closed at 452.85p - TEN TIMES their value in late 2008. Sports Direct confirmed the bumper bonus yesterday alongside figures showing sales have soared 14 per cent in the nine weeks to March 31. Profits in 2012-2013 are almost certain to top £270 million. Philip Dorgan, analyst at PANMURE GORDON, said: “Put simply, Sports Direct haven’t got any competition now that JJB has gone.” The share price rise means Mike Ashley’s own 64 per cent stake in the business he founded in 1982 is now worth £1.7 billion. The update came as the CBI said 37 per cent of retailers saw sales fall in April — against 36 per cent recording a rise. Almost half said takings were below average for the time of year. Perchino - Probably the only player who hasn`t cost us a goal or a game with a stupid pass or mistake from what I can remember.

The refereeing this season is close to putting me off football. Its ridiculously poor. I`m not talking about 50/50 questionable decisions that make football more interesting, its the complete stupidity of some of the calls.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

I thought he was frustrated with the ref ? A few obvious decisons going against us in a row. -
Again, that's twice you've gone putting words into my mouth...I've already corrected you once. I said that we could go on a good run towards the end of the season and that I viewed all of the games (with the exception of Citeh) as winnable games; given the state of the squad after the Chelsea game. We don't just have two first team injuries....we've actually had: L vs Spurs: Ben Arfa, RTaylor, Vuckic, Gouffran* W vs Southampton: Krul, Ben Arfa, RTaylor, Vuckic, Harper (Tiote ill prior to the game) L vs Swansea: Krul, Colocinni, Ben Arfa, RTaylor, Vuckic, Harper (Cisse and Cabaye were both ill prior to the game) W vs Stoke: Krul, Colocinni, Ben Arfa, RTaylor, Vuckic, Ameobi L vs Wigan: Krul, Colocinni, Cabaye, Debuchy*, Haidaira*, Ben Arfa, RTaylor, Vuckic L vs Man City: Krul, Colocinni, Debuchy, Santon, Tiote, Haidaira, Ben Arfa, RTaylor, Vuckic Injuries are by no means the sole reason for the poor results this season, but they go someway towards putting the season into context and explaining how the same guy (with arguably an improved squad on paper) has gone from a Champions League-chasing side to a 'squeaky bum' side. If we get a Second actual striker this summer and maybe a third. Combine that with Cisse not taking until April to actually find some form and few a others finding any at all. Add to that no Europe, ie more than 1 day for coaching and tactics for each match. If this happens and we are still shit and lower than say 12th then he has to go. At the moment he has far too many excuses. He isn`t good enough to work through a crisis but we all knew that when he was appointed, at the same time he has done far better even now than we all expected.
-
Indeed, PL referees are idiots so they would have missed that 9 times out of 10. Europe is a completely different story though. Needs to cut it out from his game completely mind, there's no need to take stupid risks like that. From what I remember there were two Benfica players waiting to score behind Taylors Arm anyway. Was worth the risk he knew they were caught out.
-
He will only be playing passes like that playing against us next season.

How can you come to that conclusion exactly? How is that fair to say that last season was the one off and this season truly represents his ability? And that it can't possibly be the other way around. For that reason that's why he needs to stay until at least January, imo We were not very good last season, and had an absolute shitload of luck/margins going our way. I think that was the perfect season, where pretty much everything went our way. This year: -No attacking gameplan. -Shit scared of every team in the league. -Negative approach to the game. -Excuses right, left and centre. -The luck we had last year has left us. -We're yet to play a good game this season imo. I feel he's holding us back, and I've no faith in him to change things around. I have never been a Pardew hater but I will be suprised if we spring back next season IF we stay up. I think we have had a season of 2 halfs, the first half was bad luck , injuries, no squad depth and I didn`t blame Pardew. The second half he has got into a panic and continued to bottle it every match, making each match after more and more serious and cagey. This has minced his brain and the players, proving he hasn`t got what it takes. He could have us finishing 5th next season if everything was rosey but the second things get difficult again we would drop like stone again.
-
It's irrelevant "how long we give him" because our opinion doesn't register with the owner. He'll do exactly as he pleases with our club, and that's likely to be sticking with Pardew. This reality makes it so difficult to support the club/team at the moment because with this squad we all know we could do so much better with a decent coach. I really think they might bin him, they're not anywhere near as stupid as I thought they were and they'll want to be getting maximum return on a lot of the good work they're doing off the pitch. They're ruthless too and I'd be surprised if Pardew's contract was worth the paper it was written on, in terms of the implications of sacking him. Knowing Ashley an 8 year contract pay off for Pardew would cost less than paying any of the previous owners managers off for 6 months worth. I think it will be this summer unless he wins the Europa cup or Jan if we arent in the top 10 by then.

Had that massive fog light on the front too. Went from Chopper to Grifter to Boxer. My brother was getting bullied one day, lets just say the seat came in handy defending him, they weighed a tonne alone.

They are supporting a young English player as well as protecting the officials from criticism. He is scottish I think Englander, my friend. K the Sun got it wrong CALLUM McMANAMAN will NOT be punished by the FA for his shocking studs-up hack on Massadio Haidara. The Wigan bruiser put Newcastle’s Haidara in hospital with the lunge during the Latics’ 2-1 win on Sunday. McManaman escaped punishment during the game with referee Mark Halsey admitting he did not see the tackle. It had been expected that McManaman would face restrospective action from the FA. Yet the Scot is in the clear after he was today told that FA bosses will NOT punish him — because at least one official DID see the incident. The FA said: “The FA can confirm that no action can be taken against Wigan’s Callum McManaman retrospectively following his side’s game against Newcastle United on Sunday 17 March 2013. “In the summer it was agreed that retrospective action should only be taken in respect of incidents which have not been seen by the match officials. “Where one of the officials has seen a coming together of players, no retrospective action should be taken, regardless of whether he or she witnessed the full or particular nature of the challenge. “This is to avoid the re-refereeing of incidents. “In the case of Callum McManaman, it has been confirmed that at least one of the match officials saw the coming together, though not the full extent of the challenge. “In these circumstances retrospective action cannot be taken. “The principal objective behind the not seen policy is to address off-the-ball incidents where match officials are unlikely to be in a position to witness misconduct.” The decision has been slammed by Newcastle’s managing director Derek Llambias, who insists changes to the disciplinary process are now essential. The Toon chief also questioned Wigan chairman Dave Whelan’s claim that the challenge was “fair”. He said in a statement: “We are disappointed to learn that the FA is not going to charge the Wigan player. “It is clear from this decision that the current disciplinary procedures are not fit for purpose. "Newcastle United, along with other clubs, have had players suspended for incidents reviewed after the game. "Whilst not trivialising these incidents, they were not, in our opinion, of the seriousness of Callum McManaman’s tackle on Haidara. “Whilst we understand that the current procedures give the FA limited options, it cannot be correct that the most serious offences — those which have the potential to cause another player serious harm — can go unpunished, even if the original incident was seen by match officials. “We will now be making a strong representation to the FA and the Premier League to see how a more appropriate, fair and even-handed disciplinary process can be introduced at the earliest opportunity to prevent incidents of this nature going unpunished in the future.” In relation to Whelan’s remarks, Llambias added: “I have the greatest respect for Dave, who has been in the game for a long time as a professional footballer and now owner. "I am also aware that Dave’s career was cut short due to injury. “I am therefore disappointed and surprised by the comments he made yesterday, in particular his assertion that the tackle by Callum McManaman ’was a fair challenge’. “It is our strongly held opinion that the tackle on Massadio was extremely dangerous and is the type of challenge that has the potential to cause serious harm and such was the force, and reckless and dangerous nature of the challenge, even end a player’s career. “It was not a fair challenge. This view is shared by countless former players, referees and well-respected media commentators. Indeed it appears to be only Dave Whelan who takes a contrary view.” Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4849912/Callum-McManaman-to-escape-punishment.html#ixzz2O0NPfzFh

Newcastle defender Taylor, who is recovering from a long-term injury himself, took to Twitter to voice his opinion on the horror tackle. He wrote: “Nothing to do with the scoreline an the fact it was a red but as a footballer it’s the definition of a ‘s***house tackle’.” At referee Mark Halsey’s decision not to send off McManaman, he posted: “Wow. Not even a yellow #baffled.” He added: “In them few minutes after the tackle why can’t the ref or the 4th official look at a video for 5 seconds and help the ref out #SortItOut” An outraged Taylor blasted: “So Maradona has been teaching Figueroa a few lessons I see #Shocking” Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4846497/Callum-McManaman-tackle-blasted-by-Ryan-Taylor-Wigan-2-1-Newcastle.html#ixzz2Nyfi2y00

Not sure if posted http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4848443/Mark-Halsey-ponders-ref-future-after-horror-tackle-death-threat.html Death threat stuns Halsey Ref ponders future after Twitter abuse & Poll rant Exclusive By NEIL CUSTIS Last Updated: 19th March 2013 MARK HALSEY is considering his refereeing future after being the subject of a death threat. He was in charge of Wigan’s clash with Newcastle on Sunday and missed Callum McManaman’s horror challenge on Massadio Haidara after his view was blocked. That led to him being attacked on Twitter and one threat left him shaken and unable to sleep on Sunday night. Halsey was then ‘disgusted’ after former ref Graham Poll laid into him on radio yesterday morning. A pal of Halsey said: “Mark was made aware of one particularly vile message asking for his address and claiming he deserved a death threat. “Mark loves refereeing and is consistently one of the best in the game but after something like this he is left wondering whether it is all worth it. “He didn’t even sleep on Sunday. Everyone can see that his view of the incident was blocked. “Now he has had to hear about Graham Poll laying into him.” Halsey, 51, is one of the most respected officials in the game and has battled back from cancer to return to refereeing. Poll said: “I see some referees who try their very hardest to run around and I get very disappointed when I see someone who doesn’t do that. “Mark used to be one of the fittest referees in the Premier League. “He’s been through a tough time in his life. I just hope Mark looks at it and thinks ‘is it time? Is this a signal to go?’” Referees are unable to publicly defend themselves but the pal said: “Mark has been left disgusted by the comments from Poll. “This from a man who issued three yellow cards to the same player in the World Cup.” It is not the first time Halsey has received a death threat. Last season Newcastle’s Steven Taylor revealed how Halsey had told him about other such threats Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4848443/Mark-Halsey-ponders-ref-future-after-horror-tackle-death-threat.html#ixzz2NyWCeaR0
