Of the many, many problems I have with the current loan system - this is the biggest. Being able to loan vast quantities of players (Chelsea certainly) out to take points off your competitors is denigrating the increasingly sketchy fairness of competition.
Man City players are a double-edged sword. At £8m B.Silva should be a ridiculous bargain, but he's competing with D.Silva, Sane, Sterling, KDB, Aguero, Jesus not just for goals and assists,... but minutes!
Tbf, if you're Swansea, £50m is fair. Their squad is pretty thin on quality without him and attracting a quality player to Wales now with all the money flying about in the league in more fashionable areas like London and Manchester is a tough ask. Fair play to them
Spurs want £200m for Kane, don't they? Or rather, they would only consider letting him go for that.
Don't think Lukaku would thrive in a Mourinho set up unless his game comes along. Zlatan can do it because his off the ball awareness movement and technique are superb. Lukaku works best in a system where he is one of many attacking focal points. If Mourinho puts everyone else on "keeping it tight" duty and gives Lukaku plus, say, two other players the responsibility for nicking a goal - that's not a recipe for the consistent success required to win a title IMO.
