  1. Jesus, sorry to hear that I legitimately don't know what handball is anymore. Or how it ever seemed so easy/simple previously.
  2. Not that disappointed. Fantastic effort. Players dead on their feet. Not sure I understand why Howe kept Isak on as long as he did. The kids could have done more harrying than he was capable of by that point tbh! Mbappe needed the refs help to keep them from getting swept! Not often I take pleasure from the moral victory, but on this occasion I'll take it. Well done Newcastle.
  3. Hakimi is quality tbf. Gordon finding it strange to find someone he can't burn past right off the bat IMO. Be interesting if he can move inside every now and again.
  4. Almiron what a half. Tonesetter. Everyone else noticed PSG are now justifiably terrified of Livramento when he's on the ball.
  5. I just want NUFC to give a good account of themselves and what they can do on the ball for the next two CL games.
  6. It will be quite the flex when we are able to bring on Ndiweni after 80 minutes and a three-goal cushion.
  7. Everton will be fine, probably galvanized by it tbh. Siege mentality and all that. Interesting precedent to set though.
  8. Not a bad word to say about Bournemouth, but I do hope we utterly batter them in the return leg.
  9. Pope and Tino were class. Huge credit to Bournemouth. They played a great game. Cup final levels of energy and a great, well executed game plan. Great tenacity from them. Newcastle were down to bare bones. Didn't have the players in the middle to control the tempo of the game. We have been really good at replacing players and retaining our identity but Bruno was one step too far. Longstaff looked like pre-Bruno Longstaff without him. Hopefully we get players back soon. No need to panic. Would have been a great bonus to get anything out of today with the fitness of the squad. Lots of reasons to remain cheerful.

A thousand times, this. Half surprised Southgate isn't trying to tempt Wayne Rooney and John Terry out of retirement in his squad of dependable known quantities.
  11. I don't mean to sound too harsh, but Willock is too one dimensional for CL. Think they can both be great squad players in the Premier League. Longstaff was on the floor a bit much as usual, making up the numbers a bit at this level.
  12. @HaydnNUFCdo the thing Flush this one down the toilet.
  13. I like them but Willock and Longstaff are not cut out for this level IMO. Willock hasn't got the guile. He got bullied by Adeyimi once, and was completely stunted thereafter mentally and physically.
  14. Annoying as shit, but explicable. They were far more clinical over two legs. You can't afford to miss the amount of sitters we did, and not capitalise on the upswings. The squad is knackered. Normally midway through the second half you'd expect a push, and you could just see the energy wasn't there. Dortmund looked sharper to second balls all night long. We know the squad, it's not a commitment issue - they're just gassed. Having said that it was very naive defensively to concede that second. We've looked more vulnerable from our own set plays for a few weeks now. Newcastle played scared for parts of the two legs (which is what annoys me most). I think the frequency of useless direct balls to Wilson indicates that was a Howe-tactic, which he got badly wrong and left an uphill battle in both games. Champions League campaign is over. Play the kids and concentrate on getting back there IMO. I really, really, really want to qualify the Champions League again and draw Dortmund. Dortmund are a good side in moments, but I do think we could stuff them 4-0 on another day. Disappointing as fuck that's the account we've given of ourselves over two legs. Ugh.
  15. Thought he had some nice moments. Needs the ball into feet more and he can do some damage.
  16. I think he had a bad half. I've not criticised him this year I don't think.
  17. Despite this I'm still annoyed how we started the game. Way too much reverence for Dortmund. They're a good side but Newcastle are better when not playing scared.
