  1. Well, one of my best mates is a Gooner so never going to be impartial. Loved Wenger's early teams with Henry, they became pretty deplorable thereafter but I still really like Wenger. Hated the entitled fan base for hounding him out, and disliked them until Saka, Nketiah and Odeegard came along - who play good football and seem like a decent bunch. Arteta is obviously a bellend unfortunately.
  2. I generally quite like Arsenal now tbh. Don't have a problem with any of their players bar Havertz. Having said that I can see this result sending them into a bit of a tailspin in the same way Citeh losing 1-0 to us did. Maybe provide a bit of tape for other sides to learn and frustrate Arsenal with.
  3. Agree with that. I think it's 50-50. I personally think Gabriel is banking on playing for a foul and doesn't do enough to defend the cross. He's stooped under the flight of the ball before Joelinton has properly made contact. Does that make contact less of a foul? I think it's soft but you could argue it. I don't think it's incontrovertible-must-be-overturned material.
  4. https://www.football365.com/news/16-conclusions-newcastle-1-0-arsenal-arteta-gordon-var-goal-disgrace-bruno-guimaraes Good article.
  5. Tbh I don't care about Arteta. I care about Newcastle's maturity in a big spot. We outplayed a really class Arsenal side, with so many players missing too. It's a shame that won't be the story, but I'm not one for the comments section of Twitter anyway. Hopefully we can keep this up until the international break and then feign a bunch of injuries to ensure they recover
  6. Oh aye and Howe has come on so, so, so far. Even from last season.
  7. I don't really care for the commentary narrative. I thought that was a fantastic display from Newcastle and were worthy winners. The shots on target thing was a bit distortive, as Newcastle had the better chances and had Arsenal at arm's reach defensively. What a performance. I actually thought the ref did pretty well in a difficult situation. The Livramento yellow was nonsense. The officiating for Newcastle triple yellow was spot on, and I have no problem with that as long as it's consistent and everyone gets booked for such dissent. Joelinton was fantastic. Motm. Buzzing off that. Genuinely so impressed. Livramento was quietly sensational second half.
  8. Apart from picking up those yellows that might be the most intellectual display I've ever seen from NUFC. So massively impressed to do that to such a good Arsenal side.
  9. Obviously dead certs to get full points in both but if you could only win this or the Dortmund game, I think I'd choose this one.
  10. I know it's only a few hours difference but feels a bit stupid/needless this is a late kick off when we have a game in Dortmund on Tuesday. Put it in the 12:30pm slot if you want it on TV.
  11. Liverpool away to Chelsea would be ideal. NUFC at home to Port Vale.
  12. Glad Tino is shite at something. Makes me feel better about myself. Get the kid some media-training
  13. I do hope this gives Eddie Howe a bit more confidence to rotate the likes of Livramento into the side in other games when the first XI are flagging after 60-70 minutes.
  14. Great. ETH made everyone come off the bench for nothing.
