Same as usual. We turn up half-asleep against lower division opposition. They're motivated. We aren't. They score. We try. We realise we don't have the pace, guile, incision or strikers to actually cut them open.
-
Woah, woah, woah... hold the phone, you mean we can't just turn up and win?
-
 Good old lovable James. You'd be great in times of war, man. Both sides could always join together for some mutual Taylor27 knocking. Stick around

I assume saved for Sunday since Joey won't be here then?
-
As ever, no personal animosity towards him - just the lying arsehole/puppet/prick who picks him.
-
Lovenkrands starting, Haris not - for Vuck's sake, man!
-
I just shuddered. I expect he will be involved though, you're right.
-
Man City will destroy Napoli tbh.

Real Madrid face Lyon every goddam year!

They were a Bendtner's boot away from knocking out Barca last year. Deserve to be in pot 1. Understand what you're saying but 'heinous' is a strong word If Dortmund are worthy they will gain a better seeding next year.

Just heard Nasri's interview - what a tool!
-
What is that based on though, Nut?! Based on what you'd do if you were a pro footballer?

If offered 81k in two months time, Barton would come back - under some of the logic in here.
-
I can't see how you can say/believe that with such steadfast conviction. Especially re: Barton. Do you think Nolan would have left for West Ham if they hadn't offered him £55k a week for 5-years? Do you think Barton would have left for QPR if they hadn't offered him £80k a week? Nolan - I assume not, but don't know with any certainty. Barton - I assume he would have left for less - again with no certainty, but more power to him/his agent for negotiating that much.

Perhaps not especially prudent of them, but the intent of ambition is certainly there. Maybe they feel they can sell him on after two years to some other Championship side who feel he can do a job for them. You think Nolan will do that? I bet anything they have a Smith situation where they can't shift him because of his wages. Might do. Neither of us can tell the future. Well, we can tell Newcastle's future - shoot for the stars eye-level, and hit the sky ground

Ambition is relative. Without getting too buried in details - we have the resources to push on further than we have. = No ambition QPR have just stepped up a league and fended off interest for that mad hatter Adel Taraabt and are looking to push on by nicking Barton off us. West Ham are gambling, but retained some biggish names, and have acquired Nolan to try and get them into the Prem.

Even if every current squad member were to be sold and we were left with only Terry McDermott's fetus, Alan Smith and Graham Carr's sexually confused son, there would still be those avoiding blaming the two shitbags in charge. Why would Barton join QPR if not for money? Their wildly ambitious signings that have made us "green with envy" © Mackems. The told class players they already have in their squad? World class manager? He wouldn't be working for wankers? He'd be performing in front of the supporters he 'loves'. I assume you're just trolling, because that's a pretty stupid post. You don't have to personally interact with club owners to be subject to their shit stewardship (lies, fines, sacking good honest managers who have built a strong spirit and replacing them with your mate from down the casino etc). I don't see Ashley too often, for example. Diverting from the original question you raised though. You asked why else, but for money, would he go. Working for owners with some integrity is a plausible reason. Everything else is just opinion, speculation and, quite frankly, agenda! From the personality of Joey we've been privy to via Twitter, on the pitch and various interviews - he holds himself in very high regard. He really does believe he is a person of integrity who makes mistakes, but ultimately is a pensive, philosophical and ethical person. The pattern of him leaving for non-monetary reasons fit what we know of his personality. I am dead certain there are those who will read this and say "Joey is intelligent enough to have fooled you with this projected 'man of integrity' personality on Twitter" mind you It's all guesswork, but judging from the personality we see on the pitch - he wears his heart on his sleeve in everything he does. He's uncompromising, it gets him into trouble, he's not always well liked, but he really does believe he is a good guy - and sometimes when you want to be a good guy enough, you end up being one! [/final disclaimer - all guesswork/opinion, but nowt else on here isn't]

Tbf, at least he'll be nullified when we face QPR in a few weeks... Enrique Pieters Cissokho... Ryan Taylor will have him for, erm, breakfast. Much faster. Right?

Just came home and saw this. Beren is not me gusta, not me gusta at all.

Reading this page: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=620928&page=2 Makes you wonder why there isn't a decent mackem forum with some reasonable debate (/decent thread moderation ) and level-headed posters. Weird, because most of the mackems I've met offline are okay - but their online representation is shocking for the most part!

Lua Lua is on. Hope it's him that's scored.
