  1. Their whole glass tinderbox squad is doubtful, but they'll put out a respectable eleven no matter what

    Shola Ameobi

Can't wait until my fake replice Ameobi 23 top arrives
  3. Good shout. Get the aerial presence of all three of our CBs too, this way. Apart from the fact it never works Well, there's that. If Ferguson isn't fit though, I'd rather not put Simpson or Taylor at LB.

  5. Yeah, he is very attacking, but started at LB (IIRC!) and still plays there from time to time.
  6. Optimistic, but wouldn't mind a cheeky bid for Emanuelson since AC Milan aren't using him all that much.

    Alan Pardew

Through design or luck, about 80% of what he says is a lie [/strictly tongue-in-cheek]
  8. Seems a little pedantic, mate If I'd said top-five, would that resolve your qualms? Being serious though, they're competing for a top four place. That's what I mean, at least. Agree about Liverpool being detestable. Would love for them to crash and burn this season.
  9. You're right Skirge, we won't. From what we know of Jose, he doesn't seem like a twat though. He seems like a nice enough bloke. Don't blame him.
  10. Thats it.. its all the bullshit from him thats fkd me off, I really think he was tapped up by the bin dippers when they signed Carroll. But he kept saying he would sign his new deal, dragged it out "when we are safe".. "in the summer"... "if we sign players"... I bet even if we'd signed fkn Messi, Skirge, you're a legend, but going to have to disagree. He is a top-four quality left back, if he wasn't offered a deal commensurate to his talent and the club made no real strides forward to make sure the team around him was on a par with him - why would he stay, man? If a Premiership club came knocking for you while you were in your local Sunday league team who you loved all your life, you'd be gone! (And Enrique didn't even love us, his whole life). Waiting to see if the Carroll money was reinvested is entirely plausible and reasonable. Making definitive statements that he was stringing us on with no intention to see what the club did this summer (assuming he even said as much!) is speculative and has no foundation based on evidence, only conjecture, and is probably more reflective of individual fans' personalities, faith in humanity, levels of cynicism and methods of coping with loss! So do you think he would join Liverpool on the same contract we offered him ? Yes. The owners aren't arseholes, he'll never have to whip in a wonderful cross only to have it wasted by Lovenkrands, he'll play in Europe, his chances of representing his country will improve.

Easier to be angry at someone, and all that...
  12. I hold some ill feeling towards him. He was paid handsomely throughout his time here, had one good season in the Championship, then 6 very good months in the Premiership before his head was turned and he started acting like a prat. The way he practically cut communications with the fans (went from weekly in-depth interviews about the club/players/fans/area/etc to saying f*** all) reaked of agent instructions to maintain radio silence whilst his services were whored out to someone willing to pay him significantly more money. The twitter rant was also pathetic, we let fatty Nolan go and bring in a decent number of players with over half the window remaining and he throws his toys out of the pram. He's a c***, no different to Owen, or Beye, or any other footballer who sold the fans his twaddle then ran as soon as the opportunity arose. I've been calling him a prick/c*** all summer because he turned cold towards the fans as soon as his head was turned, and I'll certainly continue calling him a c*** for as long as he's wearing a Liverpool shirt. I think you need to grow up and come to terms with the fact that footballers leave clubs from time to time. He could've came out and been honest still, instead of lying and saying he was waiting until we were safe. Everyone on here seems to slate Bassong but at least he had the balls to say he wanted out, rather than the likes of Duff and Beye who pledged their loyalty but the weaseled out when the chance arrived. Small point, but he never said that. Just like he never said he wanted to sign for a Champions League club. Said something similar didn't he? Or at least his agent did? Nope, it all came from Alan 'Andy Carroll is definitely not for sale at any price' Pardew, on behalf of his invisible Managing Director if we're to believe Pardew has f*** all say in contract negotiation (as I've also seen people claim on here). I think the two claims are different tbh. Re: Carroll, Pardew either lied to us or was lied to. Re: Jose, Pardew either lied to us or was lied to. Why wouldn't Jose set the record straight? He can't win, Frazzle. He speaks out - he's fined by the club, charged and convicted by the fans of being disruptive with the following old argument trotted out "It's unprofessional. If I spoke about wanting to go to a better company, and effectively slagging off the ambition of the company I was with, I'd be justifiably sanctioned" As it is, now he's being accused of being "cold" with fans for keeping his head down and staying largely silent. I worry some fans think they're the women in relationships with some of the players
  13. Much of our defensive success against Arsenal in our away victory last season came from pushing them out wide, IIRC. There was a cross which Fabregas met with a header which tested us, but we were quite happy/relatively comfortable to let them cross it as we (and every other team in the world) had the beating of them in the air. Having a more compact defensive unit might be quite a good strategy against Arsenal. If Taylor can stay mindful of his surroundings, remain calm, not lose his head...... Oh, I see the weakness of this argument now.
  14. New Year not a happy time in the Beren household? Anfield. Carroll and Enrique ripping us new ones. [Also, yes ]
  15. December 31st is going to be depressing.
  16. Of course the deal goes through now with 2 days until our first match.
  17. Where's this from? Is it accurate? They were "official" stats from a reputable source, if I remember rightly. They're in here somewhere. http://www.anfieldindex.com/2685/liverpool-fc-transfer-scouting-stats-left-backs.html There you go sausage. Taken from Opta. http://www.anfieldindex.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/LeftBack_Defend.png Holy shit Tbh, I'm surprised it was as high as 9.
  18. Except for this weekend, where we can hope for a 0-0 with plenty red cards and injuries. I was thinking this weekend is win-win (as far as that match goes). Liverpool win = Sunderland lose Draw = Liverpool draw at home against mediocre riff-raff after heavy-spending summer Sunderland win = Liverpool lose at home against mediocre riff-raff after heavy-spending summer Injuries and red cards a bonus.
  19. Aye its like a bird dumping you as she wants to be single, lo and behold shes with another bloke straight away. Not even a little bit  Aye Jose hasn't told us he doesn't want to play football anymore or owt. Strung us along giving us hope, i hate you Joanna you heartbreaking ginger fuckmuppet.
