  1. The men are getting dominated right now.
  2. Commentators are very keen to praise Drogba (and he is playing well) but they're applauding efforts of ballooning it over from 50 yards out now as being "buzzing"
  3. Kick off is at half time in the Spurs game. Bladdy livescore.com and their scurrilous lies!
  4. The final starts straight after the North London derby? Evening dilemma avoided.
  5. Basically, they don't. Some fantasy league systems have bonus points for good performances and MOTM awards, but some only reward goals assists and clean sheets. Essien went on a little scoring run too earlier this season - as did Song for Arsenal! Tiote is a solid return of bonus points for a cheap price for fantasy teams. All entirely negated by the obscene amount of yellow cards he will receive, mind you.
  6. Difficult one to call, the FF bonus points. Think it's a panel that decides it or something, based on "impact" presumably. I'd have gone: 3 Nani (diving prat, but dangerous/influential all the same) 2 Gutierrez 1 Williamson
  7. Bit late seeing this, not sure of the substance behind it, but he'd be an incredible signing. We'd finally have decent cover on both flanks/options on the bench. Ferguson could go get some experience of regular first-team football on loan too.

    Alan Pardew

Deserves credit for last night Still unconvinced though.
  9. Fair enough Having played on the wing, I appreciate how difficult/exhausting it can be going from corner flag to corner flag (even on a 5-a side pitch! ) and you do have to ration out your intensive running - I'm sure Jonas just trusts Enrique to handle most things, and pitches out if the opposition tries to double team him. Otherwise, he leaves himself available for the counter Either way, I'm personally happy with his engine/stamina/defensive contribution
  10. arguably his best game of the season Arsenal away.
  11. Yeah, can't remember if I posted this in the Simpson thread earlier but really have a lot of time for Simpson. Seems to have a brilliant attitude.
  12. The "people watching him at the stadium" argument is ridiculous and not worthy of you What a silly thing to say. He definitely works hard IMO. He has pace which he often uses. Few players in our side have pace, let alone use it - so sometimes when he has to catch his breath back he looks lazy compared to everyone else, but overall he's covering more ground than most IMO and definitely pitching in with his defensive duties. I saw him a few times taking breathers today and knew he'd catch flak from people about it later.
  13. I love that that was an average game for him Top drawer.
  14. Second half of the season been fantastic IMO.
  15. Krul - 8 - Did everything asked of him very well. Still needs to work on commanding his area - thought he perhaps should have come out when Coloccini had to make himself a shield between the ball and Hernandez. Simpson 7.5 - Really, really well against top quality opposition - even after a few knocks to the head! Colo - 8 - Mamma mia! Williamson - 8 - Superb. Standout defender. Some incredible interceptions/reading the play. Really developing his defending brain. Enrique 7.5 - Brilliant and mental. Looked full of beans and motivated. Barton - 7.5 - Excellent first half, faded in the second, but continued to be really good on the ball, kept them pressured and gave us some possession. Not much focus on attacking play second half, so not surprising his second half play dipped. Guthrie - 7.5 - Pleasantly surprised. Best game for us in a very long time. Verging on an 8. Really well rounded performance. Hope he continues to come forward a bit more/gets some confidence/fitness. Tiote - 8 - Shit, forgot Tiote How could I? Monster. Gutierrez - 8 - Excellent. Not much more to say than that. Defended like a maniac (remember one epic challenge in particular on the edge of our box) and provided a release/outlet for defence when we needed it - something he brings to the team which is highly underrated IMO. Ameobi - 7 - Battled well against very tough opposition while he was on. Some tidy passes/possession football. Struggled on long balls second half. Loven - 7 - Maybe I'm going soft in my older age, but impressed with his vim/willingness to have a go and engine tonight. Deserves an extra helping of papaya at the NUFC canteen tomorrow. Pardew - credit to the silver-haired fox, good game plan, good motivation of the players. Important point A little worried with the "soak up pressure" mentality second half, but not sure if that was necessary due to fitness levels dropping or strategy. Thought we might have been undone at the end, but it worked, so the manager deserves plaudits
  16. From one game? One game, which I might add, he had Colo and Guthrie behind him in CM and Loven next to him. (and Barton playing supershite). Was pretty shit when he played 80 minutes at Fulham away as well. Impact player and nothing more, tbh. Was there, the whole team was atrocious. Got no service whatsoever and Hangeland ate all the shit that got hoofed up to him. We were Tiote-less that day too, btw!

  18. Stop betting on them until they hit something vaguely resembling form?
  19. Classic Rocky II. There's absolutely zero pressure on him now if he plays, Shirley. He's got three belters lined up: 1) We're facing Man Utd 2) Back from injury 3) Sad
  20. That's funny. Over 2.5 times as many goals and 18 times as many assists!
  21. Ivanovic is a really good shout. Monster season despite Chelsea being shite.
  22. Paul Scholes has received a lifetime award for accurate benevolent tackling.
