Thats pish, i didnt know. it's a trap they've fallen for so many times, they brag about their defensive record but won't see the reason is because they play very defensivly and don't commit midfielders into the box. No way. Simpson did the right thing - covering his man to the byline. It was smart play by Jarvis to cut it back, but Simpson's work meant he couldn't whip it in with any pace so the defenders in the box should have dealt with it. Jarvis is right footed though. Much like Arteta was. Its also the issue of space as there was too much between the defender and the ball IMO. He can cross with his left. Really fucking well in fact.

I don't question his commitment and I am very grateful for the significant contribution he made to our promotion season. He's got a couple of goals and assists this term too, largely against poor opposition, and he seems committed enough in his comportment (if not his running/challenging for the ball!). I'm quite happy to have him in the squad for this season but as fourth or fifth choice alongside Kuqi. It's not his fault Pardew starts him ahead of Ranger.
