4 assists off only one chance. Gotta love these meaningless stats.
  3. Lighten up lads, this thread is depressing af
  4. So much better with a higher line and playing with more patience
  5. Would have made a similar assessment of the first leg. We need to be more patient
  6. Notice they don't have that annoying fucking drum to piss off all their home fans.

Sorry all wrong thread for this teary-eyed shit but I really have to pinch myself sometimes

Aye, I mean there's a couple of obvious stand-outs that are far superior to what we have - Kane, Bellingham and further down the list Foden and Saka. But beyond these few, are what England have at international level really that much ahead of what we have on the pitch? Is that quality gap enough to overcome our intensity and never-say-die attitude? I reckon PSG's lineup was comparable on paper to an England XI without Newcastle players and we blew them away... Agreed it's not exactly nailed on, but what a nice place to be in to even broach such an absurd notion. I've said it before, but it feels like I'm in an alternate world, real-life FM save.. where Luton is in the PL, we've got (kind of) unlimited money, we're getting results sometimes that feel like they've been save-scummed Champions League after a manager's first full season in charge, a cup final... I really hope everyone is inhaling this shit because this is once-in-a-lifetime stuff for fans. This time period is going to be to some lads what the Keegan to the Robson eras felt like to me. I feel privileged to be able to go through this again.

Imagine that being your homework, what a life

Newcastle's England XI would beat the rest of the world's England XI. Team ethic and intensity would run the rest of them off the park.

    Sean Longstaff

Agreed on both, not hiding from earliest reaction to signing Tonali

    Sean Longstaff

Tonali coming in has higlighted to us all how good Longstaff is.
  14. Thought that was from the 90s, the default quality that loaded at in the embed, but it's really recent
  15. Tbf their whole match thread is talking about they have no plans, they don't close down attackers, they always concede on transition and they don't understand how we can score the goals we do, they don't know how. They all want ETH out to a man, except one or two who basically want to sack the whole squad and start from scratch. My favourite quote was 'we've had more captains on the pitch than shots on target today'.
  16. Howe has a system, and players are trained to that system. Whomever comes in, knows what to do. What you can do with an intelligent, driven leader and a team of humble, hard working lads cannot be underestimated.

    Callum Wilson

I stand by my assessment of him, he's an elite-level poacher but offers little else. He works great in our team so he's definitely a round peg in a round hole. Really happy with his form, I can never complain about any other aspects of his game as long as he's knocking them in, long may it continue.

    Miguel Almirón

Can't underestimate years of conditioning to never expect the cross from his right.
  19. Dortmund are no joke. We'll learn from this. Good experience for everyone involved.
  20. Aye we've been alright. We've just got some awfully high standards right now. And these Dortmund lads know not to put anything long or at pace, whereas it's taken us 3/4 of the game to realise that a wet ball keeps on going when it hits the ground.
