  1. Throughly pedestrian effort against a crap team. Given: 6 Beye: 6 Cacapa: 3 Coloccini: 4 Enrique: 5 Frustrating. Duff: 5 Barton: 6 Butt: 5 Jonas: 5 (Worst game for us; still not the player to take off) Ameobi: 5 Martins: 5 Owen: 4 Kinnear: 3 MOTM? Well, Beye didn't embarrass himself. Barton was alright.
  2. Thought Enrique improved substantially in the second half. The ball that Owen should've put away. Wasn't that from Enrique?
  3. Really unbelievable. You'd think that if we have any two players that you'd really want to have on the pitch together it'd be Jonas and Owen.

    Duff vs Dyer

Dyer was a better player. Thank fuck he's gone though.
  5. Criticisms of Barton are off. Owen for Ameobi. Not for anything Ameobi has done. Owen is just a different class of player. Think that he'll link up with Duff, Jonas, and Barton.
  6. Got to disagree. We were better in the first half of the Villa game. I'd bring Owen on for Ameobi. And then maybe Guthrie for Butt.
  7. Villa were disappointing. Showed no desire at all once they'd gone a goal down. I had thought that they were a team that might challenge the top four. No chance of that. Just think what they might have done had they put that 12m towards a player.
  8. Unfortunate. I wouldn't take so much pleasure in seeing a disconsolate Milner on his knees in front of a baying Gallowgate, having missed an open goal from two yards. I think I'd still smile about it a little bit, mind Especially sweet when Geremi (of all people) puts in the cross that gets the winner.
  9. "Flamboyantly?" Well, he's Spanish you know. Edit: Argentine. Shit.
  10. Absolutely. No. The big mistake was selling Woodgate and not replacing him. We went into that season with Bramble and O'Brien as our first choices. Good God!
  11. Less sympathy than ever. And no, I do not support him. The statement is a manipulative piece of public relations that is tailored to induce sympathy. There's nothing there that is from the heart. It's just another attempt to tarnish Keegan in the eyes of the public. All this rubbish about NUFC not being able to buy Shevchenkos and the like. That's nothing but a bit of innuendo to cast Keegan as some kind of delusional freak. Buying players is not the issue here. It's selling players out from underneath the manager that is the problem. Ashley's attempt here to recast the issue is the height of cynicism and manipulation. I would love it if the club were to emulate Arsenal and buy great young players at great prices. But no one is selling players out from underneath Wenger.
  12. Appointing Keegan would be just another cynical move on Ashley's part-- just as his initial appointment of Keegan was itself a desperate act of cynicism. He fired Allardyce without having a replacement lined up. And then he hired Keegan to placate the fans. Might've worked if he actually supported the manager. Keegan rejecting such an offer would not imply in any way that he doesn't love the club. He's no tool and he won't be used.
  13. I would certainly welcome him. He was my first choice before Keegan was hired... well, first choice after Hitzfield of course
