1yr deal he'd be worth a go, but guess he'd want a 2yr contract. The whole striker situation depends on whether we keep Oba n Owen. As it stands, if our current strikeforce are still here next season, id be happy to take either Viduka (2yr) or Fowler (1yr) on.

I can quite easily see Chelsea giving him £50k a week tbh. So were other teams like us willing to pay £45k a week for him then?? If so im even more glad we didnt sign him. Surely chelsea wouldnt pay £50k of the next closest offer was £35k.

If its about money, how much do u reckon Chelsea are paying him, and how much were other clubs willing to pay? I mean, Sidwell isnt gonna get £50k a week at Chelsea is he? So lets say Chelski are paying him £35k a week, would the toon have been willing to pay 'only' £30k? If we sign Bent for £11m, or indeed sign him at all, its for sure Oba or Owen is on the way out for a similar or higher fee.

Distin is a pretty good defender, but i really dont think he's good enough to carry Bungle. Put those 2 together and they'll be weaker than they were this season gone. On the other hand, put Distin with Campbell and you've got a great partnership. I would guess Bungle to have been on around £30k a week at the toon.

Mido's shite, couldnt get at game at spuds, hasnt set the prem on light, isnt much of a goal scorer, 4th choice striker yes, but not on the money he'll want. Honestly rather have Ameobi and Carroll than him, with Owen n Martins are the first two. (Obviously i'd love us to sign somebody good enough to be our 3rd striker ahead of Shola, but dunno how likely it is to happen - Fatty Viduka?)
