Both were proven successes though replacing poor managers and improved our club markedly unlke AP although I do agree. Of course. Because their teams were realtively successful nobody cared about what they really said in the papers. As people dont like Pardew, he gets hammered for what he says when more often than not what he tells the press is perfectly sensible. True, I wouldn't say Pardew gets hammered mind, just examined closely due to the unusual nature of his appointment which IMO is fair enough. His media handling was always going to be a bit unusual after the relatively blandness of Hughton. Indeed but I think at times and ideally he needs to find a happy medium. He obviously seems to know that the fans crave information but a lot of the time he seems to be creating soundbites for sakes sake.

Tried to buy someone I'd have hoped but as he wasn't favoured by the board it was obviously going to prove difficult however AP should not be suffering from this problem as he was hired merely weeks ago.

Mackems could really do with a win here to capatalise on Liverpools poor result earlier.

So the manager is to blame for the poor finishing of his side, laughable. Why didn't he buy a striker? Because he wasn't given any money? Well he claims it was because he was so impressed with the ones we've got. Well after weeks of claiming that he was going to "bang on the door of the chairman", he was hardly going to turn around and say "Oh well, I'm a gullible b******. He didn't give me any money which is a shame, because all the strikers we've got are s***" Well after weeks of telling us Andy Carroll wasn't for sale, he sold him so that's an absolutely ridiculous point. Mick has made the point for me - why bring in an injured midfielder instead of, for example, Sturridge? Because the money was probably already earmarked for HBA and I doubt Pardew even had much of a say in it either. My point is, the blame for me lies squarely at the door of the boardroom. I don't blame Pardew for not signing anyone in the window. Like Hughton before him, he's just making the best of a bad situation. He's just an irrelevant puppet in this whole charade. Why bring in Ireland instead of a loan striker? Because when we started the Ireland deal, we were desperately short in midfield, Carroll was still a NUFC player and Shola didn't have a fractured jaw. Yet most would agree we still needed a striker. Tiote being suspended hardly = being short in numbers in midfield, quality yes, numbers no. I agree with your other post we need to give AP at least a full summer under his belt before making up our minds.

TBF to him there isn't many songs out there about potatoes.

When is his contact up?

Why bring in Ireland instead of a loan striker? Especially when it would appear we had to ship out a valuable reserve a striker (albeit a shit one) to get him. Madness. Macheda, Vela, Sturridge all players in on loan who we could've gone for and would have cost less in wages than the Mentalist.

Anyway FWIW. I'm not going to judge him (unless we go down, in which case he want shot with shit) until midway next season when he has "his squad and preseason" behind him.
-
He spent money on a player who was already at the club until the end of the season. Who is also injured and we already had a deal in place to buy at the end of the season We did? I thought that was part of the deal. I may be wrong. I think you are wrong tbh. We had a deal in place if he played a certain amount of games(25), we simply brought that forward and bought him in January. I doubt this deal had anything to do with Pardew. Ah shit aye that was it.

Horrible defending all round. Dawson pops it in of the caravan.

Have a look at this: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/chalkboards/create He probably touched the ball less times than Harper who had very little to do. He may of done but I stand by what I said, aside from the interceptions but it's only got us down as making 4 as a team and I don't think thats right.

Reverting to the classic Spurs away performance to a Northern team circa since the Premiership began.
-
Sunderland are going to be a bit spackered the next couple of seasons when the ACON rolls around two years running to everyones delight. Gyan, Sessegnon and potentially Mensah, Muntari and Elmo away(assuming they move perm),
-
Nolan had a shocker today, he did nothing that I can remember. Did well I thought, a lot of interceptions and tackles winning us back possession although he didn't seem to get forward as much - whether he was instructed to sit deeper or not I don't know.
-
Wants to stop towing that caravan around, it really hampers his game.
-
Listening on the radio. I have hardly heard a Spurs player have possession of the ball. They sound really poor so far. Sunderland completely dominant.
