Will be good once fully settled in. My scouse-supporting mates really rate him. Decent buy but still contributed a lot less than you'd expect for an £11m signing. He'll come good, though. Aye starting to come to terms with change in pace of the game as is usual for players coming from Portuguese league. Decent player but Porto got the better deal in getting Moutinho to replace him for a couple of million less.

He'll do alright if he goes somewhere where he is giving the free role in 3 man central midfield as he has at Blackpool but think he'll struggle in a more conventional 4-4-2.

What was the last SPL striker to cut it at a high level though? Henrik Larsson? (and certainly wasn't for his goalscoring) Viduka? Chris Sutton? Viduka's SPL career was rather short though, and Sutton's glory days at Blackburn came before his SPL stint. True but if you're a half decent player you're only going to go there as a stepping stone/winding down. Invariably of recent anyone who has spent a number of seasons there is because they aren't good enough to play elsewhere.
