never in a million years will he move here. His wife is dreamy like!

He be trading in for the best league in the world though, and that's 38 games of testing ability and prestige compared to where he is now. Very true but say it is between us and Man City for example, he has no preference i presume to either and both will throw money at him & I get the impression players still view being in Europe as to being the shop window, something which he has experienced already as he has pretty much become common knowledge due to Zenit's win in UEFA, he would probably prefer the move to City i would presume. I actually think he is the type of player Liverpool should be in for to play wide in their 4/3/3 or 4/5/1 Aye, can't argue with that unfortunately, seems like its going to be the thing that holds us back getting in the players we actually need. True, especially if we're not going to be offering silly wages anymore (which to an extent I fully agree with). We're going to have to make other signings that signal intent & try and encourage people to join others. I also believe we need Keegan at the forefront on negotiations as his passion alone will encourage players and I'd want him selling the club rather than Wise etc because of the passion he has for the place and the fact he played here himself when he was still a world class player and we were gash.

Don't know anyone apart from newcomers and spacka's that refer to the stands as the SJH or the Brown Ale (if it's still called that). Wouldn't be averse to my stand (the East) getting a new name though. At least we only have one sponsored stand (and its a local sponsor), some grounds have some horrific sponsorships attached to stands and their name. e.g. the Emirates, Keepmoat at Doncaster etc.

Quite an interesting character off the pitch n all young Arse-shaving n all. Arshavin has a degree in fashion design, which included a thesis on “The development of sportswear manufacturing”. Arshavin capitalised on his popularity as Russian football’s golden boy to gain election to the St Petersburg legislative assembly in 2006, campaigning on Vladimir Putin’s United Russia ticket. http://www.wsc.co.uk/content/view/883/29/ Would love it if we got him in like but I can't see him moving to someone who is not in Europe.

Get him booed pre-season. Booooooooo! Sssssssssss!

Im sure he will change his mind when no prem clus want him. If he still stays then im sorry he has no ambition as much i love newcastle if i was a footballer and not playing every week for newcastle but another club could offer me first team football i would go there just like ramage has done. Stoke City (a Prem club now) did want him though so it's bollocks. Just have to hope Southgate is silly enough to put a bid in but I very much doubt he will.

£2m+ (cash upfront)

I'm fairly certain, its either Miles Stanforth or someone else at the NE papers that doesn't exist. Can't remember for sure who though.

Fucking hell man! A Premier league club did come in for him and he turned the bastards down. Does he think Sir Alex Ferguson is going to buy him like? FFS!

Be a decent move for both parties. A couple of years ago Eidur would've be perfect for the new Owen role

I thought he looked dodgy as fuck.

England regular. Don't English players cost a lot of money? We've no need to sell and Liverpool have behaved disgracefully throughout this sage, so I suspect MON is determined to make it as difficult and expensive as he possibly can. I don't blame MON at all but I cannot see Pool bettering that offer, then its back down and sell him or put up with an unhappy player. If Carrick and Hargreaves are worth £18m then Barry is worth at least £20m in my view. I wouldn't say Barry is better than either of them, especially Carrick. Barry is worth what we will accept for him. We've got to go out and find a replacement, which - as we're not in the CL - is going to be difficult (a decent replacement, anyway). We've already got a miniscule squad, so losing one of our best players is the last thing we need. That doesn't mean Barry is worth 20m or better than Player A or Player B, but there is the value of the player and the fact we're selling him to a team we're trying to catch up (and one which seemingly has a lot of problems so may become catchable at some point). I'm glad MON is playing hardball, he's saying "this is how much we need him, this is how much you're going to have to give us for him if you want him, don't want to pay it? f*** off elsewhere". In the past we'd have bent over at the first offer and let them have him. Very true. I think it also has to be taken into account that he is your captain as well, I definitely think this should mean an extra few million should be paid. You not only have to replace a good player, but also your leader. I know an excellent replacement for you guys, as he has prem experience and is British too and so is well accustomed to the league. He is currently incarcerated and might be for a little while longer but please don't let that put you off ... Has Alan Smith been banged up n all like?

Kudos to O'Neill, Lerner and Villa. The big clubs need to know they can't bully teams/players around like they seem to think they can. The spanish waiter would be the first one to complain if it was say Barca acting like this to Torres. Liverpool have acted disgustingly in this whole affair, sting them for as much as possible. Think you should definitely be looking to get Finnan as part of the deal though even if his best days are behind him he is still a useful player and you definitely need a RB.

Impressed by both Arda and Derdiyok last night, an improvement on what we have and both can only get better you would think so lets hope the rumours are true. Particularly impressed with Derdiyok's workrate, would be a good replacement/competitor for Viduka's shirt and not overly expensive either i would imagine.

Fuck me if Milner and Shola leave, we'll making Villa's squad look huge.

Could be a very good buy them, can see him working well with Arteta. Definitely a step up from Lee Carsley (despite the good job Carsley did) Aye the same reports also say thery are in for Veloso Does everyone linked with one always have to be linked to t'other n all. Happens w/ every team. FWIW I think Veloso would be more suited to Everton's style of play.

I don't actually mind Beglin. Speaks what he actually thinks, not afraid to slate the favourites. Miles better than Mark Bright n'all. That is because there is nobody worse than Mark Bright. Better be an early goal in this since I'm ducking out of work early to catch the start of it.

Don't believe anything written by that old boozehound man. Anal doesn't know his arse from his elbow.
