From what I’ve seen from the outside it absolutely screams Allardyce at us but with better players and who knows it might be good enough for Waffa Cup/Conference but doing that with the most entitled fans in the league isn’t a good recipe. Albeit they’re in a weird place after Lou Carpenter. I actually thought Frank would step up a bit, despite his villainy, as he was obviously decent at Brentford. However…

Yup. Incredibly frustrating that they were there for the taking and we didn’t capitalise albeit you could tell from the off they were happy to turn the game into a scrap for their defensive lads.

As an aside, and to be serious, it’s wild how quickly he’s turned them into Brentford (who they play this weekend, could be funny as fuck). They were dire and it’s criminal we didn’t put them away tonight. No idea who did their recruitment in the summer but I’d love to know how much input he had into it. Having to always play Danso, who is not a good defender, because he has a long throw is a treat for all. I shall have an aneurysm if they finish above us this season.

I’m not one to complain too much these days as it’s way better than it was for years but it was really, really bad tonight. Even moreso given the weekend and it being a night game which are usually better by default (pints). Could hear the players shouting at points in the first half. Too many people expecting a win perhaps?

Class write up, glad you and your old man had a great time and got to share a dream together. Marseille is indeed absolutely class (being an English away fan within the confines of the stadium and gendarmerie aside) and OM is easily the best atmosphere I’ve encountered outside of South America and the city itself has very much that kind of edge which personally I absolutely love.
