  1. My sentiments are exactly, I know all managers are guilty of some hypocrisy and complaining bout refs, but I find Fergie to be the very definition of a sore loser. The fact that he is a 'Sir' which naturally comes with the expectation that he would uphold a certain degree of respectable behavior makes his behavior even more sickening and distasteful.
  2. Mourinho had his choice of literally any player in the world to built his defence around. He chose John Terry, and endorsed that decision by making him captain a short time after getting the Chelsea job. Not sure why you're bringing Carvalho into it. What? Which part do you not understand? I mentioned Carvalho because we were comparing the two and in my opinion Carvalho (along with Cole) were better defenders than Terry. I've also explained that being made captain does not prove that Terry is the superior player so in that sense it is irrelevant. I am not denying Terry's charisma or ability to lead the team, I am however doubting your claim that he was one of the best defender in the last 6 years.

Does bitching make it more accurate? Have you figured out how we're going to improve the squad without increasing the wage bill yet? Once again, take your time and where are you getting this information that we can't/won't increase our wage bill...not like we just agreed significantly higher wages for Tiote!

  5. We'll disagree on Carvalho then, he was less physical in the "put your body in the way" sort but was a lot calmer, less prone to mistakes and was better at playing the ball out of defence. Mourinho (and yes I think very highly of him) making him captain does not prove your claim, captains are not necessarily the best players, it's often someone that can rally the team. It made a lot more sense to make a 'local lad' a captain whose been at the club for several years than a Portugese lad that came with Mourinho, doesn't make Terry the better player though. See we can debate without being disrespectful to differing views.
  6. He has been generally solid but far from being amongst the best in the last 6 years. As for naming defeders, not playing your numbers game, but I just named 2 defenders better than him and that's just in Chelsea, or did you missed that part (conveniently igored)?
  7. All Wales need to do is lob one over his head. He has been stable but prone to moments of panicks and misjudgements which unsurprisingly for a defender usually costs goals. How anyone can describe him as "one of the best defeders in the last 6 years is beyond me". He is not even the best defender in Chelsea in the last 6 years, Both Carvalho and Cole was & is better than him and as for now, it's possible that Luiz will be Chelsea's backbone. What a load of guff. nice attempt of a response, just admit that you don't know how to defend the nonsense you posted

Probably all based around Tiote's popularity. It's the club using that to try and claim they know what they're doing. Spinning almost all events even positive ones to make it sound like the club has some sort of massive Madoff scheme to trick us all is getting tiring honestly and does you no credit at all.

  10. I hope all this argument in favour of Taylor is at least for him to play at CB. Nobody should ever metion him at RB anymore, the word atrocious is too mild for his performance against Everton. As for CB, although I acknowledge that Williamson is ust above average (and possibly should be upgraded if we have the funds), I'd still rather stick to the tried and tested of Colo + Williamson. Don't change what is not broken (and it wasn't before the Everton game), although for the Stoke game it might be worth partnering Colo with Campbell if it is true that the latter still retains the physical aspect of his game especially heading away tons and tons of Delap's creative passing!

    Messi

Agreed. Rooney is great, but remember that he also benefits from playing on a good team. He's strength is his finishing skills and work ethic. He benefits immensely from playing in Man U which plays a style of football that suits him perfectly: fast passing, a lot of mobility and diverting the play to the side which the opponent is outnumbered. All those factors give Rooney space to run in. And high quality crossers are constantly delivered from the wide men, which enables him to exploit his finishing capabilities. That's Rooney at his best. But the man has much more problems when the ball is not passed around quickly enough, when the defenders are able to close down the space. This happens at the national team and Rooney is accordingly experiencing problems, like we saw in the WC. I can see some of the points you're making, but not sure why playing in a good team is a factor when comparing Rooney vs Messi. Barcelona is streets ahead of Man Utd as the better team. Messi is great but he's got players like Xavi and Iniesta behind him. Messi and Barcelona just feeds off each other which probably explain why he is a pale shadow of himself for Argentina.
  12. Jose is not using Jonas when he overlaps? It's Jose doing the overlapping, ffs. It's up to Jonas to release him. So many words, so little knowledge and clearly so little experience of watching Newcastle United. To be fair to Punk, what he means is that when Jose does overlap and go past Jonas and is faced with a defender, they don't pass to each other to beat that defender so in that sense "Jose does not use Jonas when he over laps". He usually ties to dribble past the defender and if he can't then, then he passes back to Jonas and Jonas usually try to find another midfielder (Tiote/Nolan). I agree with you though that in the last 2 games, Enrique has look better attacking than defending.
  13. Disgusted how Scholes escaped even a yellow there. It could even be said to be intentional as it was a reaction to an earlier tackle that he wasn't happy with. Plus he do that so many times, that's it's hard to think that he is just that lousy in the tackle. Such a dirty cunt, one of the many reasons why I would prefer almost any team winning the Premiership than Man scum!
  14. my experience with Newcastle, means that if a player has a chance to be back, then he is back in a months time eaxctly! With Pardew it will be, "oh he will be back next week"...and then "still not ready, we won't risk him, maybe in 2-3 weeks time"....then "oh well, he'll be ready for next season"!
  15. I can't believe that so many are so confident given that we are only 6 points off the relegation zone. I know the typical answer is that there are so many teams below us. But I did a quick check of our form vs all the teams below us since the end of the transfer window (when 'many teams 'below' us did in fact strengthen their team/squad) Here's what I got Newcastle - 6 points in 6 games Fullham - 9 points in 5 games Stoke - 4 points in 6 games Villa - 5 points in 5 games Blackburn - 1 point in 5 games (the one point being against us!) Blackpool - 4 points in 6 games West Brom - 7 points in 6 games Birmingham - 8 points in 6 games West Ham - 10 points in 5 games Wolves - 8 points in 6 games Wigan - 5 points in 5 games Looking at the above, a few things strike me: 1) The bottom 3 of Wigan, Wolves and West Ham has improved quite significantly (especially the latter 2) and will move up the table soon 2) Only Blackpool, Blackburn and Stoke has had worst points collection than us, Wigan & Villa will depend on how they do in their game in hand 3) If our form continue and you extrapolate it over a longer period, especially with 2 away games and injured players falling on the side like flies, it won't be long before we get drag into the mix. Then it will depend whether we panic or stay calm. I think we will be dragged into the mix but might just escape by the skin of our teeth (especially if we get the likes of Barton & Enrique back), but how anybody can be so confident is beyond me??
  16. actually Amdy Faye was amongst the least of problems that Souness hoisted on us. Remember him having a good game when we beat Arsenal. Getting rid of Robert was the lowest point for me, it was painful to see how he would treat Robert and criticize him after he had a fantastic game. Getting rid of Bernard was probably a close second, at least it did not drag out as much. Souness was a one man demolition tractor and I hate that cunt until today
  17. That's right, if we are to compare our form since the end of the January transfer window with the teams below us, we'd probably be in the bottom 3 already. My worry is that teams below us are collecting points and we seem to be fading, still pissed off that we only took 1 point from our last 2 game, I was targetting at least 4!

I don't expect 100% accuracy at all, but Pardew's record must be way below 10% now, he hardly gets any right. I'd rather he give a more conservative estimate if he is not sure.

If there is one thing that I absolutely hate about Pardew for is how he raises fans expectations when it comes to injury recoveries. Just a few weeks ago, he was saying that we would have HBA and Ireland playing again sometime in March/April and now it looks like they're both not gonna feature. He keeps on saying that they will come back and when the time comes, he moves the recovery date by another 2-3 weeks. Granted that nobody knows for sure when a player will be back, but I'd rather a manager who gives a realistic assessment or even even a pessimistic one. I hate how he raises our hope, then only to crush it in the next interview, kind of like how our home form has been in the last 2 games!
  20. Is any of this relevant at all? There's not much between Williamson and Taylor at CB. This is Mike's first season at this level, in fairness. Taylor's had nearly 7 years to become a decent PL defender. Relevant to the fact that you insisted - repeatedly - that Taylor was clearly a better bet than MW less than a month ago. Relevant because you're now ridiculing Taylor's performances in games which were played before you claimed he hadn't been destroyed like MW was by Arsenal in ages. Deal with it. If you give it out, you have to be prepared to take it. Take what? You don't even seem to know what point you're trying to make. Taylor's always been a lower-level PL defender and i've never waived from the opinion that we should sell him the second we get a half-decent offer. You might remember this post, considering it was in response to your nonsense: So you're denying that there was significant dissent on this forum towards Taylor while the contract thing dragged on? You're denying that coloured people's opinions of him, despite him barely putting a foot wrong when fit last season? Yep, heard it all now... Got to be said, Taylor's had 6 seasons in the PL. The fact you're pointing to half a season in The Championship as proof of his quality says it all. Ultimately, both Taylor and Williamson are lower-end PL defenders. The players around them on the pitch have lots of quality and consistency, so replacing one or both is not a major priority at this moment. Dear me. Go back over your posts on Mike Williamson of just a few weeks ago. Not only did you say Taylor should rightly come back in for him, you said you'd rather have Taylor than Lescott alongside Colo. This is about the fourth time you've tried to rewrite recent history on here. Give it up. And where have I contradicted any of that? well even if you didn't contradict yourself (you're running backwards faster than Taylor here), the fact that you think Taylor should replace Williamson makes your opinion that of a class A buffoon

  22. He's the best player in Liverpool by some distance? I want to know what sort of measurement you use to compare players in different positions and more importantly what sort of drugs that you are using to say that Carroll is better than the likes of Gerrard and Suarez?
  23. Not so much funny as pathetic, but yeah. not as pathetic as those worshipping him and making him out to be Shearer like. Carroll is a good striker but very one dimensional, he won't be able to gel with Liverpool if they play on the deck though he will be a dam effective target man.
  24. 20 minutes is not enough to judge any player but based on that 20 minutes, he was distinctly average. Carroll is a good target man with a superb header, nothing more
  25. It's also 2 defeats in 10 in the league. Stats mean nowt man, they can be shaped in whatever way anyone wants. Yes but he's a centre forward, he's there to win us games. Could understand using that side of the statistic if he was a centre half. Drawing every game over the course of a season will take you down, we need to win games man and we totally unable to do it at the moment. We've also scored 15 goals in those 10 games, 10 games that Carroll wouldn't even have played in if he's only just making the bench for Liverpool today. We didn't fail to win most of those games because of failure to score. We didn't win because of poor defensive mistakes (Sunderland, Spurs, Everton, Fulham at least). Are you only allowed to score one goal a game? No, but we threw away leads in three of those games. Er... yeah, we also missed a load of chances to kill the game off. Who else was going to put them away like? A one legged Andy Carroll? Eh? Forget it, we're not going to agree. You think we're as good without Carroll, I don't. Fair enough. Where did I say that? What point are you making then? I'm saying we're not as good without him and you're arguing with me! The point I'm making is that having him at the club would have made no difference as we're now into the second week in March and he's still not fit to start I know that. Other people are interpreting this as "we're alright without him after all!" We're not. The fact that we're not doing as well as we could (not too bad though) has nothing to do with selling Carroll. Sure we would be stronger with him than without but we would be without him even if we didnt sell him, so no difference really.
