Yup if it was up to some of us, we would have bought him for the amount Marseille wanted eventhough we didn't have the money coz apparently Ashley was lying (and somehow misled the accountants) when he said we were making a loss. Don't agree with many things that he does, but if this pulls through then he (or whoever has been working on the deal) deserves some credit.

sorry if this has been asked, but with the reported interest from Liverpool and the agreed sale of Mascherano (which gives them the cash), does that not open up the possibility for them to thump our offer (with a straight buy perhaps)?
-
If all our players renewing their contracts have this relegation clause, then it is a good idea. It aligns the incentive of the players with Premiership survival. Taylor should take the contract and help ensure that we don't get relegated.
-
As long as the club is paid market rate for the advertisements, I don't really care. I want us to focus on our on field matters for survival, all other off field issues which drives a wedge between fans and owners are just a distraction.

why not? He is one of the best players for the club...he should not ask for more than the ceiling, but he definitely should be amongst the club top earners. Age/youth is irrelevant
-
Exactly, he's had over 6 years in the first team and the only thing he'd be remembered for if he was sold tomorrow is being that local lad who had potential. He's not even worth £30k. Must say I'm pleasently surprised by the percentage of rationale voting. I thought many would frame this as local geordie hero vs Ashley cunt...and inevitably vote for the former.

Ya if there is one drawback of today's thrashing is that it might just mean that Mike will close the door on this one. Today's result was an abberation, but Mike won't see it that way. We definitely won't be increasing our bid now.

I'd take him anytime, just the sort of player that can dictate tempo and who I'm confident will able to replicate his club form for England. So what if the reason he joins England is because he is not good enough for the Spanish team. We are talking of midfielders like Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas, none of the current English midfielders can be considered better than them (at least not at the international level). Couldn't give a toss about his race, if he has British citizenship, that's all that matters.

Quoted for truth I never rated him when he was playing for us, he did well for Villa but no way is he a 20M player. I rate him in the 10M bracket, City paid over the odds for most of their signings, and they paid well over the odds for Milner.

From wikipedia

As close to confirmation they want him as you'll get. Game over. So the president denies but the sporting director confirms? Another title change in order perhaps? Whatever...I've gone pass the point of caring
-
I tell you if he rejects Bremen and insist on joining us, he should be given a hero's welcome. But then knowing some of our fans, after 2 lousy games, he would be booed off the pitch
-
I'd wager we had designs on only playing him at home, thus avoiding the potential cost. Sorry Dave I know it is the season to be pessimistic but that has to be bollocks. The club has to be crazy if we did anything like that i.e. not play him in away games so that we don't have to pay the full fees.

221 pages for nothing....this has got to be a practical joke!
-
Seaman Dixon, Adams, Cambell, Winterburn (I think Cole's best years were with Chelsea) Overmars, Vieira, Fabregas, Pires Henry, Bergkamp
-
So he's not coming then? What a cock teaser!
-
Silliest argument ever, I'm right because Mancini think the same too. I guess we just have discount the times when you criticized/disagreed with decisions of football managers
-
Most of us are thinking of him playing either behind Carrol or as an AM. But according to some websites, his main position is as a LW. What if he came in on loan and then we sold Jonas foe 4-6M. We would be strengthened in the short term since many don't rate Jonas too highly but we would be in the shit when the loan ends. Would you guys be unhappy or is it acceptable as long as we reinvest Jonas' transfer?
-
all the excitement...how good is this lad? Honestly have not heard of him
-
Err I don't know, having targets who would actually improve his team might be a good start! Absolute bullshit. Silva, Milner, Toure, Kolarov, Boateng and Balotelli are miles better than Bellamy, SWP, Vieira, Bridge, Lescott and Roque. Before you go bullshit in your usual condescending way, perhaps you would try reading in context...I was referring to Milner specifically. How is he better than any of the first team wingers that City already have? Read before you post twat!
-
If this is true than Mancini is just Souness in disguise, he gets loads of money and is absolutely throwing them away like a little kid It's obvious that it's not Mancini that decides how much City pay for a player. Presumably he still knows the number that is being bandied around, it's all over the internet/press, in which case surely he should say something like for that price we can do much better. Even if you do absolve him for the price paid, you still can't absolve him for targeting a player that won't strengthen his 1st team given his current options.

Looks like Milner to City is almost a done deal. What are your thoughts? I must declare my bias, I think he is just average and the assist for Defoe or any other games he played for England didn't change my mind one bit. Even in today's inflated market, I rate him as 8-13M player but it seems City is gonna pay in excess of 20M for him and they might end up paying more than they paid for David Silva which to me is just mental! What do you guys think, will he improve City at all? With the likes of Silva and Johnson as wingers already, what could Mancini be looking for?
-
Never liked him one bit, thought the way he was angling to get the job from Capello with his constant criticism was disgusting!
