I think it's not even so much British players but players who've been in this league and know what it's about. I could care less where they're from.

    Rolando Aarons

Can we call him a crap manager now? Can't see talent if it hit him in the fucking arse. This is the kid who even Pardew risked bringing back from injury prematurely just so he can save the King's bacon, and here we have the new boss not even giving him a chance and wanting to loan him out. And keeping Obertan in the fucking lineup Aarons was also the only decent player in the atrocious preseason, so I'm really not sure why McClaren would be doing this. Surely he saw the same games we all did?
  3. I stand by that. With the right manager it is, no doubt in my mind. You both need to fucking drop this, now. Getting tiresome. Ronaldo, people make silly exclamations on this board all the fucking time, if we hang onto every single word someone says, every thread will get locked.

Smacks of no respect for the manager. He seems to have been hung out to dry by the players, which makes me think something else must have gone on behind closed doors. This. How can a new set of players be so completely indifferent to their new club, surroundings and boss? Even the existing ones don't seem to give a shit about a completely new coaching setup and manager.

Wasn't it Carr's recommendation, and then Charnley who approached him 3 fucking times?
  6. What's happened to our players under this setup, why the fuck do they simply not give a shit? We were quick to blame Carver and Stoney for the exact same thing, but even the new players are acting like they're playing under a seriously shit coach.

If I return to the apathy I've felt the last 2 years, I'll go back to being fucking miserable again. But this cunt in charge and the club are heading back that way. So much for the minor notes of optimism we were struck by at the beginning of the season. Fuck everything.
  9. Where do these straight-from-the-dressing-room-at-half-time rumours come from? Hope it's true, nonetheless. We need at least SOMEONE in there who cares. Just realized that I don't know the meaning of 'hoying up.'

I live in Toronto, man. We'd take him, fuck. We had Danny fucking Dichio achieve legendary status for us at 50 years of age

    Less Hatem and more Raylor.
  14. We so badly need a charismatic, young manager to get these wankers into the frame of mind to compete and have some self respect. McClaren looks like he couldn't uplift the mood of an 80-year old while handing him a pack of viagra. "Make sure you romance her and take a drive through the countryside..."
  15. Why risk Mbemba if you're not gonna play him in the heart of defence? We can't afford injuries to him

Not sure why he's not playing in the MLS. He could probably do a job as a player/coach or something for some crap team.

You look at West Ham and realize what a horrendous appointment this was. Only Ashley keeps hiring off the scrapheap of yesteryear.

The preseason set up by Carver, Stoney and Charnley, playing against third tier teams in North America?

I said SMC was similar to Pardew from the start. I expected him to be bang average. I expect some improvement but still well below what I deem as a decent season. I have never though he's a Newcastle United manager. But he, like Pardew, is not the main cause of our problems. He's a symptom. If we had proper leadership he wouldn't be here anyway. Every club has a vision. For some, it's to just get by. I think the owner has tried a bit to change the vision but it's largely the same. I just can't get on board with this, I'm sorry. Doesn't matter if the club's vision as you put it is merely to exist, on a game by game basis that should have no bearing on how McLaren approaches things and I'm sure it doesn't. He's just not good enough to steer a course away from what Pardew created, or so it seems atm. I am currently sympathising with this view, as well. And I totally understand those calling him to be sacked now, even if it may be too soon. While I'm okay with giving him a few more games, personally, two stark realities cannot be ignored: 1) He seems incapable of motivating or firing up the squad. Any manager who witnessed last season's shambles would've come in with bluster and an iron fucking rod, and we'd have enjoyed a bit of a honeymoon period. Even DiCanio enjoyed one, FFS. McC seems to be the reflective type, but games have simply passed him and his players by. 2) By giving him 10 - 15 games, we risk being cut adrift very early on, and we haven't been in season-long relegation battle ever, as far as I can recall. Before we'd managed to get more points on the board before slipping down the table. To start the campaign with THIS squad rooted firmly at the bottom and we're looking at a truly fucking horror scenario. By the time January rolls around we could be pretty far off.
