  1. So, the question now is, what attitude are the NUSC central committee and their army of loyal pie boycotters going to take if Ashley can't find a buyer for the club?
  2. hate to this Tron, but thats exactly the same as the vast majority of other fans thought of Newcastle fans when they whinged on when we [not all of us] were playing regularly in europe. Except for the bit about being in the Champions League every year. And the bit about winning cups. In my experience, the vast majority of other fans would come out with some line like "Ha, ha, ha! How much have you spent and you still haven't won anything!"
  3. I am no fan of the Shepherds/Halls at all. But aren't you judging their managerial appointments with hindsight? Of course. Only a prize moron would try to determine whether a manager had been a success or a failure without examining their record in the job. If Gullit, Souness, Roeder and Allardyce -- four out of five of Shepherd's managers -- were such great appointments, how come not one of them lasted more than a season and a half? Dalglish wasn't Shepherd's appointment, but sacking him two games into the season right after he'd spent £15 million on players was another example of dumb decision-making by our former chairman -- something that could be seen even without the benefit of hindsight.
  4. no response again then mackems.gif You drivel on and on about me "dishing the dirt" and then expect me to take the remainder of these same sorry posts seriously? Get a grip, man. so you aren't going to email this journo in protest of the current owner and the current goings on then ? Nor confirm that you agreed with Shepherds decision with regard to at least 3 of those managerial appointments ? Get a grip man. Drivel is drivel and repeating it over and over just makes you look like a mong.

  6. Why don't you stand up, turn your back to the computer, drop your trousers, and bend over? That way we'd be able to hear what you're saying more clearly.
  7. It's one of the many irrational things about NE5, that he seems to think that his misreprentation of my opinion re Shepherd's managerial appointments make any difference whatsoever to the simpe fact that all but one of them were failures. I guess he's just not very adept at dealing with facts.
  8. Just for the record he has answered that before, and yet you keep bringing it up. He was dishing the dirt on Shepherd, not NUFC. Believe it or not Freddy Shepherd did not and does not equal Newcastle United Football Club. You can criticise one without criticising the other. I wasn't even "dishing the dirt" on Shepherd. I was arranging for someone from the Hitzfeld-for-manager campaign to get a right of reply after Shepherd dissed the idea as a "betting scam". I've no idea what this is supposed to do with the cold, hard fact that all but one of Shepherd's managerial appointments were miserable failures. NE5 seems simply incapable of conducting a rational discussion on this point.
  9. Aye, as a mechanism for supplying instant success it has proved sadly deficient. As a mechanism for supplying almost instant relegation though, it's proving worryingly efficient. that i suppose we'll have to wait and see (and hope not). i still feel we were closer to relegation under allardyce than we are now. For largely the same reason - lack of investment in the squad. (Though I never wanted Allardyce and think he would never have succeeded). how many more times does the nail have to be hit squarely on the head here exactly...how many times do you need telling that giving a shit manager loads of money still takes you backwards. how many times do you need to be told that its impossible to appoint a winning manager every time, and good managers - if you find one - will piss off to clubs that back them if they are with clubs that don't. But crap managers like all but one of those Shepherd appointed usually piss off to be unemployed.
  10. How exactly is it in his best interests to block a higher transfer fee (which he'll get a % of) and wages? If that's how the system works, I'm not impressed, as 1) Modric isn't that good he was worth buying (at that price) just for the sake of it. 2) We were/are desperate for that position 3) It's a s*** way of going about transfers regardless I can think of shitter ways. Chairman: "Mr Luque, how much would you like to be paid?" Luque: "Er...Meester Newcastle chairman I don't really want to come but ok, I would like 20..no 30...no...make that 60k a week please" Chairmen: "Ok"
  11. Aye, what use is a "structure" if it doesn't solve all our problems in one transfer window?
  12. It's a shame Ashley's mantra is I'd rather give a Director of Football £0 than a good manager £0 and yet it's known that he had a club record bid accepted for a player and paid a club record for a defender. aren't we getting back into the area where we don't actually know what happened. That's never stopped UV before.

  14. Making them different from Hall, Shepherd and every other owner/chairman we've had... how, exactly?
  15. Aw! Did the nasty man say bad things about Uncle Freddie? Poor baby! Here's a new dummy. See how long you can keep this one inside the pram.
  16. But only a real wanker gets it wrong four times out of five.
  17. I must have missed the bit where Ashley "owned up to his true motives".
  18. With all the pies they're boycotting, they'll be downsizing on the shirt sizes anyway.
  19. Yeah, at the moment it amounts to little more than showing prospective buyers how much trouble we might be willing to cause them.
  20. I think ikri is right. An NDA would cover the contents of the document about the club's finances. Even if it wanted to, I don't see how it could cover anyone's interest in making a bid.
  21. I think it's precisely the opposite. Scam artists prepare their scams carefully. The problem with Ashley is that he's way too impulsive.
  22. You forgot to ask his favourite colour. Maybe it's pink like yours. And maybe it's green.
