  1. The most worrying thing is how powerless the fans are. If 50,000 people protested with banners and chants at St James' Park, they'd be delighted that there are 50,000 people buying tickets. They couldn't give a fuck about banners, chants, campaigns etc, they just don't care at all. The only way to properly hit Ashley is to stop going to games in protest, but it isn't going to happen.
  2. I tend to agree that it's important that we win well tonight. Obviously a win puts us into the next round, but if we win well it'll boost confidence and hopefully mean the likes of Cisse can end his drought. It's also gives us some hope as well when a lot of us have none.

    Alan Pardew

Why do people go back and quote posts from years ago, in this case as far back as 8 years ago? So Wullie was pissed off with various managers on separate occasions over the years, big deal, most people on here were.

Another thing, a new manager will be crying out for spending in the transfer window to take in some of his own players. Pardew, as we've seen already, is happy to sit there while next to nothing is spent. Pardew suits Ashley right down to the ground.

The thing is though, there's a very long list of managers just as bad if not worse than Pardew that would all be first in line for the job. I'd rather we just stuck with one bad manager than chopped and changed through old has beens for the next few years. Pardew is terrible, but in his time here we haven't gone down, there are much worse managers that would take us down. We could of course get lucky, but when has that ever happened to us? Decent established managers cost too much money for Ashley and won't put up with his nonsense. If we got lucky with an unproven manager then realistically how long would he stay here? He'd probably want more money eventually and would probably attract the interests of other more ambitious football clubs. Ashley's set up is built for bad managers who are happy to just be at a club like Newcastle, or even just be employed for that matter.

I want Pardew out, but at the same time I don't trust Ashley to replace him at all, especially with that knacker Kinnear so far up his arse. We're fucked either way, so I'd rather we just stuck with Pardew now and saw this out. Realistically all we can hope for now is staying in the Premier League until Ashley is gone and we're finished with this nightmare. I just hope the free advertising for Sports Direct isn't so significant that he's going no where because of it.
  7. We can't afford to go too weak against them, Leeds will be no push over when they're against one of the bigger Premier League clubs. Cisse absolutely has to start this too, he has to start scoring asap.

I'm kinda happy he isn't back yet. He'd probably walk into the starting 11 and do some daft shite to mess us up against Hull.
  9. Premier League clubs (and other leagues) should just play without their internationals, rather than take a month off. Those two pre-seasons are a complete joke man, once again club football is forgotten about in favour of the internationals.

  11. Things can't go that well for us can they?
  12. Fuck me half of the stadium has left already, don't this lot stay to applaud their team off after a big win? Also, RVP.
  13. It was funny seeing the crowd after the goal too. So many people not arsed at all.
  14. Rooney man. Now it's 1-1, well done Wayne.
  15. This upset stuff is bollocks when we're at home. Maybe at their place we can talk about upsets, but if predict that Hull City will come to SJP and win then we may as well close the pre-match threads and just assume everyones down for a defeat each week.
  16. Not going to get over confident, but we've been creating a lot of chances and are at home. It's Hull too. It has to be 2-0.
  17. What a fucking pass. Fuck me man.
  18. That guy in the stand must have got GTA5 today as well.
  19. Of course it is. It would just mean all the UK countries supporting the England team + Bale. We would still be getting stripped of our identity and would no longer be taking part in International Football. Obviously it's hypothetical, but let's say England were as shite as the rest of us, would it make more sense to merge then? England obviously have a much better infrastructure than the rest of the countries now, but over here both teams aren't a million miles away from each other.
  20. It wouldn't be called Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland though, it would just be Ireland. There would obviously be a debate about where a move like this would stand on the political spectrum, but again, people are happy enough with other sports like rugby. I think it's just the mindset of the fans. Football fans are generally more aggressive than other sports. The biggest worry for merging the two would be violence amongst the fans, which is a real shame. I also don't think it is anything like football clubs being close to each other and being shit. Clubs can buy new players and depending on the owner can generally decide their own fate through spending. Countries have to make do with their talent pools. If both federations merged club football might be more lucrative for clubs as well with the league being more competitive, clubs in Northern Ireland pulling bigger crowds through well supported clubs in big cities down south and vice versa. Having bigger, better, richer clubs here could improve the quality of young players coming through as well. I think it's an interesting idea and it's not as outlandish as people make it out to be.
  21. If it's so outrageous then why has it worked in other sports? Is it just about the kind of people who follow football? More likely to cause trouble? I bet the idea of a UK team isn't as outrageous, it's just pure politics when you mention it happening in Ireland.
