Fuck sake, 2 extremely important games and we lose Carroll. Couldnt make it up man. Serves us right if we lose them though. We should have signed a new striker in the summer, it was as clear as day that we needed at least another good forward.

With Hughton we knew he was capable of good results and good performances though. Hughton also had never managed before so he was very much learning his trade. Pardew however has managed before and is known to be shite. I think a lot of people look at todays game and think we are in for tripe like this every week.

It wasnt Hughton who put his name on the team sheet today. And which magical left-back could of we played today then.... If we're stuck we could play other defenders in that position, instead of going with a player who is far from good enough. We are stuck for left backs but we still have plenty of defenders. Its a grim position to be in having to decide between a shite LB and putting another defender in unfamilar territory for one game, but with Perch we know he isnt good enough.

My main concern now is that in the first half of the season we had some bad results at home to sides we need to be beating. Until now I was ok about it because I felt under Hughton we had every chance of beating these sides away and making it right. Now though, I'm not so sure we can. Under Pardew I can see us becoming utter shite away from home. The kind of team that parks the bus and hoofs it up front in the hope of getting a goal, rather than playing controlled, passing football. If today is anything to go by we could well lose to the likes of Stoke, Blackburn and Blackpool again this season.

We still have Gosling and Ben Arfa to come back in. The most important thing is to get someone up front asap. If Keane is available on loan then we should go for that option immediately. If we signed someone on loan then we could also sign another forward on a permanent basis, while also spending here and there on better squad players. Only the first sentence will actually happen though.

Mick Lowes mentioned we have only 1 win in our last 8 games. Really worrying stuff tbh. Like ive said in other threads though, our next 3 league games are all winnable. 6 points at least is an absolute must imo.
