This is the thing that sticks out for me the most. Both West Brom and Blackpool have beat us this season, the latter and more weaker even beat us at home, even though a few months before that we destroyed them at home. Its like we are afraid to go after teams and hammer them about 3-0, which we are definitely capable of doing against the likes of Blackpool and Wigan at St James' Park.

Injury or not Shola has proved time and time again that he is shite man. Im sick of waiting for him to hit form and for him to finally be the player we had hoped for years ago. The fact is he is simply not good enough, injured or not the likes of Ameobi should be no where near the starting 11.

Trust that cunt Gerard to be back for this. The wanker is a cert to score too.

I dont know where our next win is coming from tbh. I dont think we will win again in 2010, although the way this season is going we will probably beat Liverpool and Spurs away or something. Hopefully we can get something from Brum in 2 weeks but other than that I think we have to look at our first 2 games of 2011 for points. 25 points on the 5th of January would be brilliant though. If anything our form might make Ashley and Hughton buy in January, which would be a huge positive, but if we win our first 2 games in Jan then they will probably think we are alright No one said this season was going to be easy, it most definitely isnt.

Against one of the bigger sides. Im guessing some of the more spineless members of our squad will be up for this, you know, the ones who cant be bothered when we play the likes of West Brom?
-
When are we going to get rid of this guy? It seems like every season he plays well for a game or 2, tricks people into thinking he might be decent all of a sudden and then he just becomes absolutely terrible again. The guy is a joker, it seems he only plays well to get into the starting 11 then he just cant be bothered anymore. I've had enough of him, we may as well start Ranger if we are to put 2 up top. What were the club thinking not buying a striker in the summer? Utter madness and we're paying for it now.
-
Christ I dont even want to think about this one.

We have definitely seen B.

You have to look at the players as well. At the end of the day there was a decent side out there today and they just didnt turn up. They were gutless and pathetic, smacks of the relegation season and its no surprised most of this lot played for us that year too. Hughton has his share of the blame for not getting the players going of course, but at the end of the day they are 11 grown men and professional footballers, to walk out there and not even bother is ridiculous.
-
He wont get a new contract if he doesnt sign a new striker and possibly make another couple of signings. A few injuries and suspensions and we are absolutely awful, the results just wont come.
-
Mick Lowes made a good point there. Our fans made there way down to West Brom in these terrible conditions and our players reward them with this shit. Its pathetic tbh.

Mentioned this in the match thread, but does anyone think we are missing Nolan's leadership? It's been said before that he is a good captain and it seems like we are missing someone today to rally the team and get them going, they just dont look interested today. Hopefully he gets back asap.
-
Bar about 5 minutes we have been awful like. I think we're missing Nolan's leadership.
-
Theres no excuses for playing like this. Smacks of the relegation season, players just dont look interested in busting a gut and getting stuck in. They need to sort it out or we're getting nothing here.

Late to the party, cant believe Barton is injured man
-
How can you BATTER a team but then HANG ON for a point? Also, he mentioned Colo and Williamson being out for this, what is the relevance of this if they were out for the Chelsea game and we BATTERED them? Also he says Campbell will be picked, no mention for Taylor? Are we letting Sol do it all himself? This guy man...

If your continent has to wait a while before they can bid again, how come France had it in 1998 and Germany had it in 2006 (and Italy in 1990). -
Not surprised by this. He is at a Premier League club so he may as well try and make it here. Theres plenty of time to move on in the summer if he doesnt make it.
-
I just think if he isnt a key player, like Carroll, Tiote or Ben Arfa, then theres no need for a long contract like that. He could well fall down the pecking order here, even as close as right now if Campbell and Taylor play well. Of course Campbell is off at the end of the season but we will probably sign another couple of centre backs in the next year or 2. If he falls down the pecking order he could well be in a position where he isnt or is barely getting a game. If that did happen and we couldnt find a buyer for him then he is stuck here for ages and isnt even playing. Of course there are a lot of "ifs" there, but thats why a 3 year deal is better imo. If in 2 and a half years he is playing regularly then fair enough, extend his contract, if he isnt playing then he can move on. Ultimately though, it really doesnt matter
-
Its a good omen. We drew with Chelsea after the last one.
-
I dont understand these kind of contracts being given to players who, if we wanted to keep them, we could. 3 years seems more reasonable.
-
Really? The way the news is going on you'd swear Britain was in lock down.
-
Chances of this being postponed?

Whoever is the highest bidder I guess.
