I’m not that much into XG this and that, but apparently DCL was top of the underperforming XG across the top 5 leagues in Europe.

Football insider aren’t exactly reliable are they? Its no secret that we might cash in on him either really.

He won’t be going for close to 40m.

Has started 56 league games out of 114 in the last three years I think.

I assume that’s not starts in the league? I wonder how many minutes he has played in the league per season/game in the last 3-4 years or so. Sometimes numbers look more flattering than they actually are. Even going by these numbers he missed half a season two years in a row.

It all depends on the price for me. I can see this working out, but I don’t want to spend big money on him.

What on earth makes me think he has little tactical experience? It’s pretty obvious what I meant. Even Arne Slot himself when talking about Minteh a couple of months back said something along the lines of how quickly he has improved his tactical awareness and decision making when in Gambia where he grew up as a footballer they didn’t really focus on any tactics whatsoever so he hasn’t had the same education as other players of his age coming through in Europe where it’s totally different in this department. So he’s had to learn quite a lot in a short period of time but has done it pretty quickly.

Think it’s a mistake selling him too. I can see him struggling initially in a new and better league because of him still being slightly unpolished considering how little tactical education he’s had throughout his shott career so far. Combined with his decision making which has improved massively. Having said this, he seems to be a quick learner as wherever he has gone so far it has taken some time before he has started to adapt flourish. I see the same happening in the next step of his development. Look a bit meh in the beginning only to start looking class towards the second half of the season. If we sell him then like many others I certainly hope there’s a buy back clause. We may be “forced” to sell him to bring in money. If we do so I hope it’s to bring in significant quality before quantity. if this is some kind of workaround of FFP/PSR which improves our ability in the market considerably it’s amazing. and if it pisses off the red dictators then even better, I’m all for it.

I understand the signing of Wood, in desperate times and all that. As well as getting some money back for him. Having said that, ha was quite bad even if not an awful signing in the end all things considered.

He is primarily a LCB though. Personally I’d like us to go for a high quality RCB first and foremost. I would also prefer another CM before another LCB. Midfield is massively important and we play with three from the off and lack quality there when it comes to rotation/backup.

Kilman is a good player but I don’t see the point in signing another LCB. At least that’s where I’ve seen him play and he is left footed. If we get a RCB too then fine. Ideally id like to see some money left for other areas too that are more important than LCB.

Kelly is more of a LCB!

I would only allow Mjnteh to go there on loan. Or with a very good buy back clause.

He might end up doing well but when considering the financial risks it’s a no for me. I don’t think it’s worth the finances in our position.

No matter what we go for I think that technical ability has to be one of the key attributes. To get to the next level we have to improve in this aspect in general imo.

I agree about the comments that they might be going a bit far at times. BUT take it with a pinch of salt man. These words and sentences happen all the time, and more often than not it’s a over exaggerated way of reacting and thinking/saying that they really don’t want him and that they prefer a different route.
