He means two different types of players, on with pace and power to help cisse, and another player good at set pieces, like a CB i think.

Pardew looking for pace and power at Newcastle 3:39pm Thursday 3rd January 2013 in Premier League ALAN PARDEW Newcastle boss Alan Pardew will target power and pace as he looks for a replacement for Chelsea-bound Demba Ba. The 51-year-old conceded defeat in his efforts to keep the Senegal international at St James' Park last night after the Blues triggered the escape clause in his contract with a £7million bid, and is now looking to plug the sizeable gap the striker will leave behind. Marseille's Loic Remy is at the top of his list, although as ever, the deal is far from straightforward. However, Pardew, who last night admitted Ba and former strike-partner Papiss Cisse were not a natural combination, is hopeful of finding a man to complement the former Freiburg marksman. He said: ''I would like, if possible, to have a player with real power and pace. Sometimes, we lack a little bit of pace. ''(Gabriel) Obertan brings that to the team, but when Gabby is not in the team, that's something I would like to see in the player that comes in because that will help Papiss, and also somebody who is going to threaten at set-plays because it has been a weakness for us. ''But it's easy to say what I would really like - it's what I can get in this window and the options are not numerous. There are only a few players, really, who are available.'' Pardew was due to meet managing director Derek Llambias and club secretary Lee Charnley this afternoon to discuss the way forward as Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy underwent his medical on Tyneside with a view to completing a £5million switch from Lille tomorrow, although he will not be available for Saturday's FA Cup third round trip to Brighton. However, the manager warned that while the club's need is great, their financial model will govern what they are able to do. ''But we do have to take into consideration where we are. We are under no illusions that we are now in a battle to secure our Premier League status for next year, and we make no bones about that. ''The trick really is to get our best players on the pitch, we know that, but in the short term, one or two reinforcements would go a long way to helping.'' Pardew had only five members of what would be regarded as his strongest XI available to him for last night's 2-1 Barclays Premier League defeat by Everton with Danny Simpson, Steven Taylor, Yohan Cabaye, Jonas Gutierrez, Hatem Ben Arfa and Ba all missing, and the situation will not be improved my midfielder Cheick Tiote's departure for the African Nations Cup.

Don't wanna experience the 'oh maybe we should have done something, something earlier at least' moment when we're relegated.
-
Ideally we'd keep him for now, mainly because we're in the middle of a transfer window. If we we haven't seen a great improvement in results and gameplan when we've reached februari, sack the cunt and maybe, just maybe the new manager could give everyone a lift and have a great run for the rest of the season. Can't see it happening, but if we could get a quality manager we might be able to keep our players for next season. This transfer window and the uncertainty around which idiot Ashley would replace him with would make this moment the worst to sack him.
-
I've wanted him desperately for ages, like many, but somehow i don't feel as excited as i should Such a mess everything.
-
Might be much much more than £50m, and even more..
-
I've wanted him gone for quite some time, but now isn't the time as we're at the beginning of one of our most important transfer windows ever.

Imo Everton have a very well drilled team that can and do play with various type of styles, and they do it with great effect. yes they aren't perfect and do need to fix some parts of their play, but that's just minor tweaks from what i've seen so far. They have some very good players, and a few not as good, but they do work so well together so their 'lesser' players dont stand out like a shower of shit as some of ours. We have many good players unavailable, but imo we still would do much better if we didn't have a clueless manager. They deserved their win, without doubt imo. Some people chose to say this and that about them, personally im more worried and depressed about ourselves so i neither want or can have a go at them, especially an undeserved one.

I wouldn't be worried if Pardew stopped making these obvious mistakes that he does almost every time, over and over again.

Gaël Bigirimana rejoins Coventry on a permanent basis

Must start ahead of Tioté. -
Pardew plays Obertan when no fucker wants him anywhere near our team, and when we do want him to stay he gets subbed.
-
Bet the fucker thinks Jonas is the answer of our problems.
-
Everton should have had a penalty when he was wrestling in the penalty area.
-
With Anita and Marv im never worried about them losing the ball easily, the two in the team i trust the most when it comes to keep the ball in possession, without doubt.
-
Just call me out directly if you have to If you can't see that Anita is all about his athleticism coupled with an average level of footballing ability you are blind. I must be blind. Fucking hell!
-
People saying Anita isn't neat with the ball can go fuck themselves.
-
Lost for words, just gutted and devastated and fuck knows.
-
Lets put some players on the pitch and see what happens...
-
Tioté's gonna get sent off! IDIOT!
-
WHERE THE FUCK IS PERCH????????
-
Marv is class at least!
-
How unexpected, concede 1000000 freekicks. FFS!!
