    Sunderland...

Reminds me of Lua Lua tbh, very hit and miss, does some things really well and others not so well.
  4. Not that type of player from what i've read/understood.
  5. I suppose his movement could be compared to Adebayor's, but he's not as good as holding the ball up, or as good in the air. He looks at his best (to me) turning with his back to goal and running at defenders. I suppose that is why he can play of the left of a front three, because of him mobility and dribbling ability. He's a good finisher, and gets himself in goal-scoring positions, which is exactly what we need imo. He's not exactly small, but will give us a great alternative to Ba and Best. Cheers Colocho I thought he was tall like the eiffel tower?
  6. Well then, maybe she should come out of the kitchen and give us a more detailed opinion
  7. Is he about the same type of player like Adebayor? Or who would you who have seen him compare him to? Been watching a bit of the french league, haven't seen much of him though tbh (not that i know of)
  8. I hope that his heading is as good as Vieri's was, touch and vision of Bergkamp, pacey and skillful like Messi.
  9. Wonder how serious our interest in Derdiyok is, wouldn't complain if we got him like. Pretty good at most things (in football) Basing this on the few times i've seen him, but his scoring stats dont seem to be very impressive now when i just looked, surprising.

    Alan Pardew

Ashley and Pardew had no contact at all for 2 months after we dropped a 3-0 lead to 3-3 against West Brom. Ashley was mad..
  11. Getting some decent praise at the Red Café forum.
  12. This one can't come soon enough, really looking forward to see more of Santon and Ben Arfa if they'll start. No matter what it's going to be a very interesting game, like all of them. 5-1.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Just like Santon at LB? Difference being Santon has said he'll play anywhere, while Ben Arfa's been told where he'll be playing, and Pardew knows where he wants to play and that he wouldn't like to put him there (on the wing) as Barfa wouldn't be happy in that role, from what i understand.

    What were you expecting?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Pardew will not play him on the wing, not in the near future, going by what the man himself has said. And rightly so imo. i was laaate.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Might be the case, but to be honest even if they've done well their link up play together hasn't been anything special, seems like one of them goes out wide very often or come deep to meet the ball anyways, so i would like to think that Ben Arfa could be the one going out wide when needed and pick up the ball between midfield and attack, and do it better as well plus giving us other advantages with him in front of Cabaye and Tioté.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Ben Arfa in a position between our striker and midfield will certainly improve our team when it comes to posession, either he'll be an easy option to play the ball to, or the opposition will put a man to mark him, but then that'll free up more space for Tioté and Cabaye. Plus he's very good at keeping the ball when he's got it. Some times during our earlier games it's been a little bit too tight in midfield to play the ball to our cm's from the back, especially when you consider that Colo is the only one of our defenders capable of making a quality pass when the margins are small (sp?) That has often resulted in us hitting some long balls to our strikers, Ba and Best have done well in this department but it's still hard to retain posession while at the same time the ball reaches them our midfield is in a too deep starting position. Hard to explain well in english and getting my message through.

And that's what we need to do imo, we haven't had much of a link between midfield and attack. Ba/Best have dropped down and done it well but they aren't any AMC. I think Cabaye will thrive on us having that link there in between. Plus we are going to play very good teams further ahead where we definately wont play 4-4-2 anyway, might as well start to prepare now imo.

I like Best very much, and he's done better than we thought he would, maybe not as good in the the last two games. Might be harsh to drop him, i agree, but this isn't a football team for kids in school.

Give him 70 minutes against Wigan, and put Vuckic on when we're already 4-0 up

Will be one of the absolute best players in the EPL if he can avoid any serious injurys, and im not kneejerking. I usually don't say stuff like this, but his natural talent and potential is ridiculous tbh. And yes i've seen him before he got here. Dunno why im defending myself like just thought a few might not agree with me or laugh at me and say it's too early to say, maybe so, but im pretty confident in this tbh. What Wullie says, i'd be shitting myself as well. Probably the worst time of all for Wigan to play us.
  22. Love him, to be honest im not worried about him leaving (unless forced) as he's not the type of personality as many other very good players, he's not greedy or anything like that, just a very down to earth guy who absolutely loves playing for us with heart and not just for money. I don't think he'll ever stop feeling very thankful for what he's been given. Legend in the making. Would be more worried if he was like Lass or someone like him.
