Elmander is not one to worry about normally when it comes to high balls. It's alot about timing and how you can jump.

Couldn't agree more...Use the owen money for a striker who can hold up the ball and bring other in to play...

Steven Taylor has withdrawn from the England under-21 squad for Tuesday's friendly. I thought he did really well against Man Utd. I hope he will be avilable for the game against Bolton. Probably nothing serious...
-
How old is he ? 21 right?

why sell one of are best players to are main rivals? Lat year of contract, would rather have Saviola, always injured, Dont have to pay his wages. If he doesnt sign a new contract we need to try and get some of our money back. I agree with this, IF we get a good offer for Owen and if we were sure that the possible Saviola deal will go through. Then put the MO money for a mobile target man..

I had Mendes (pompey) in my team, forgot to change when he left for rangers. I Now have a midfield of Gutierrez, Deco, Lampard, Guthrie after transfering Adebayor and Mendes for Gutierrez and Martins. I will loose 4 points for making one extra transfer, But mendes wouldn't play anyway and im hoping that Jonas will get 4+ hopefully. I have a feeling that Oba is gonna score a couple against Bolton so i had to get him..

There was one of the papers that did an interactive thing like that of the game, telling you running distances, speed, where the playw as focussed etc. It was either the telegraph or the Guardian but Ic an't findit now. Ok. Cheers. I will try to make a new serch and see if i can find anything.

Agreed. It's been a long time since we had good deliveries from corners.

It's been a great weekend. All three new players performed really well. A well deserved point, but most of all is how we performed, Lost my Visa card on saturday night because i had a little bit too much, but luckily enough i didn't loose any money when i checked my account yesterday. And i found a girl, cannot remember her name or what she looked like, but rumours say that she looked like a human being at least.. I posted earlier and asked if there's any place where you after a game can find stats of a player running distance after a game? I got no answer to that, maybe no one knows. Or did they show stats like running distance in english televison when the game was over?

Alan Hansesn's Column Despite Deco’s performance, the most impressive display from a new summer signing had to be Newcastle’s Jonas Gutierrez. The Argentine was terrific against Manchester United. I hadn’t seen too much of this lad but Kevin Keegan seems to have picked up an absolute gem. I liked the way he both attacked and more importantly defended. He had terrific pace, excellent on the ball and worked as hard as anyone on the pitch. This performance was particularly impressive when you consider it was his first Premier League match and it was at away at Old Trafford of all places. Both Gutierrez and his compatriot Fabricio Coloccini performed well. They both looked big, powerful players but in particular Gutierrez stood out above all the new boys due to his display over the weekend.

I was very impressed with Guthrie as most fans. Really calm and confident in his own ability. Looked really mature in his play considering his age. I can see him being one of the bargains of the season when looking at quality and price...

Does anyone know any site that has stats from the game like how many miles a player has ran over 90 minutes?? Would be interesting to see.

As much as Owen is good player for us it wouldn't suprise me if KK decided to get rid. When looking at his contract and injury problems i wouldn't mind if we got rid of him if there was an offer too good to turn down, like £10m+. Then i would be happy IF we could complete the loan signing of Saviola with a price already agreed if we wish to sign him in the end of the season. Saviola is good, younger and not as injury prone either. Then i would be looking for a mobile target man with some power and pace for the possible Owen money received.
-
Now im glad that we've already played Man Utd away. Especially considering how this game ended and how we performed. Gives us a MASSIVE boost of confidence for the season ahead. Cant wait for the next game....
-
Maybe Keegan can make something truly great out of Saviola? Yeah i think so. KK has that effect on many players. And i think Saviola would love to play under him and knowing that he has a very important role...

Was it too much alcohol? i meant "IT"

I would rather look to activate Inler's release clause than going for Tiago. Inler's clearly a more defensive minded midfielder who also the younger player of the two. I feel that Inlers got great workrate and is a pretty decent passer of the ball also. And going for a attacking and creative playmaker also. Dont know if we can get both types of player in before the window closes. But that would give us alot more options and a better mix in the midfield area depending on what formation KK wants to use each game..
-
I remember when Real Madrid introduced Saviola as a new signing last season there was this guy who said that he's a mix between Raul and Owen. Cannot remember who i was. Imo from what i have seen from Saviola he's a better player with the ball at his feet. Dribbles and turns pretty well because of his balance and quick turns. NOt as good as Owen when it comes to heading the ball though. I think Saviola could be a great signing. I dont think he's had any manager in a long time who really believed in him and gave him a real chance to find some stability and a great run of games. I think every player needs to feel that they have some belief in him and that they have a very important role. Knowing that your manager believes i you helps alot to play with confidence. And with confidence players with a touch of class play well.. Him on loan wouldn't be bad move. But i still want a striker who can play the Viduka role. But i guess that depends on how your team play.

I think he's brilliant, but don't you think we need someone who's capable of breaking into the opposition half and making things happen from there? Lucho is a technical player who likes to keep possession, a little in the Carrick mould. Yeah maybe. I guess i just like Argentina a little bit too much atm
-
Lucho González is a player i would love to see at our club and who i think would be the perfect player atm for us. Hard working, great passer, good shot, pretty tall, versatile. What more could we ask for? Maybe not realistic though. But im sure it wouldn't be IMPOSSIBLE..

Like who? Tbh Baggio, i wouldn't complain if i was that squirrel
