  1. They're not world beaters like, I'm pretty sure Burn should be able to cope at LB.
  2. Tbf, our midfield trio of Tonali, Bruno and Joelinton is considered one of the best in the PL. We don't have their bench strength, but our first team midfield is up there. Maybe the formation didn't help or the tactics on the day didn't work. Or it might be weaker players in other areas, because of course possession isn't just about the midfield.

    Tino Livramento

Could have been a lot worse. At least we have decent cover in Tripps and Krafth so should manage a couple of months if that's how long he's out for.
  4. He might not have appreciated it at the time, but he benefited from being the main man at Newcastle. Murphy for example would always try to find him, Salah or Ekitike might think they can score themselves. There's no doubt he's a top striker, but whether he will suit how they play, we don't really know that yet.
  5. Even then Liverpool needed the help of a sympathetic High Court to bail them out of the debt trap which their heroic American owners had put them in. The nerve of this guy to come lecturing us about the moral decrepency of our owners when they were squealing like stuck pigs over their treatment by Gillett and Hicks.

    Nick Woltemade

I think our players are struggling to adapt to this as well. Finding Woltemade is the successful part, he's holding it up brilliantly. But what follow from that is where everyone appears a bit stuck. They don't seem used to breaking beyond a front man so often and aren't hitting the spaces effectively yet.
  7. I think Isak has plenty of pride in what he does. My hope is that he realises Liverpool isn't what he thought it would be and he misses being the main man like he was over here. He would still enjoy scoring goals, but maybe he puts in 20% less effort because he doesn't like a bald manager calling him out publicly for any bad games.
  8. Could turn out to be the biggest fraud since Amorin landed in Manchester.
  9. Against that, the total value of their squad is €75.80m according to transfermkt. I get that it's not necessarily gospel but we should still be levels above them.
  10. Might go down as the worst manager to ever win the title.
  11. Not trying to read too much into a picture but that screams he's had enough already and wants out.
  12. Like he'd care that much about `Liverpool.
  13. He might have suffered a stroke from choking on his own bile.
  14. @KingKenny has brought the curse of shitness onto Liverpool with his awful rant against our owners in the Arsenal thread. You sow what you reap fella.
  15. He didn't reply to me, but don't think there wasn't really much to respond to.
  16. Agree. With Isak the final play was to get him in on goal, that was the wide man's job, and with his movement, the likes of Gordon had the opportunity to hit some space while defenders were preoccupied with Isak. Woltemade is much better at holding the ball up than Isak ever was, but that means the goal scoring duty falls more on the supporting attackers, and that is where Gordon, Murphy and Barnes have struggled. They aren't getting space to run into, and they struggle to create it themselves.
  17. Suggests he's not too confident in our forwards at the moment, and tbh, looking at their output it's not hard to see why. They aren't exactly creating a bucketload of chances.
  18. If Woltemade is playing as the no 9 then we need wingers who can also get in and around the penalty area to feed off his tee-ups. This should in theory suit both Gordon and Barnes, but both have not really worked out so far. They both have just been running into traffic so far this season, all their shots are getting blocked, and they are providing no service to speak of.
  19. You could say the same about Murphy's close control and first touch. It's been shocking mostly, it gets overlooked because he can wing in a great cross and can hit a decent shot sometimes. But against the top sides he concedes possession an awful lot. Elanga's looked hit and miss, but I'm assuming we chased him for so long because Howe really believes he can be a player. I'm trusting his instincts at the moment.
  20. Yep, when we were holding that lead with about 6mins to go, I was thinking this is massive, will put our season right back on track. Then in the space of 10mins that's all gone to shit. We just need to catch a break before it becomes a mountain to climb.

    Dogawful Officiating

Looks like he's trying to keep it out of the way to me, his main movement is to turn away from the ball, his arm is tucked in before the ball is even hit.
  22. Wissa was the direct Isak replacement, he is quite similar in that he has pace and can get in behind the defenders. Woltemade was to give us an additional option if we needed a more traditional target man.

    Nick Woltemade

Keeping hold of the ball under pressure would help. Too many players getting panicked out of possession under a bit of pressure. We can dish it out but we can't take it.
