Mbuemo's looked a million dollars despite his dodgy bald/beard combo. Wasted at Man U.
-
Well I did say at a decent level. I have no idea who Ostersunds FK are, might as well be a district school side with my limited knowledge outside of the English league.
-
Not sure why anyone would give him a job at a decent level right now tbh. If ever there was a case that player recruitment is more important than the manager, then Potter is the living proof. His whole reputation was built on Tony Bloom's buying model at Brighton. Given his own resources he's turned out to be clueless.

Fair enough. Of course once we start going down the political rabbit hole, then to follow through with it, you need to offer an alternative. Do we have one which you would be happy with?
-
It doesn't look great like, but sponsorship is about the money first and last. Otherwise why even have it, the shirt would look much better without any tat patched on.
-
If they pay more than anyone else, why do you care?
-
Question by all means, but if there's no better alternatives being suggested then it's all moot anyway.

My recall is of him pulling out wide left quite often, maybe it was just part of the way we play, in the same manner Joelinton and Willock often end up on the left. I think Forest suits him better because with them sitting back more than we do, he gets a lot more space to run into. Similar for Willock I think.
-
Well I did think he was running into a wall when he was here, but he was playing out wide which wasn't really his game. It's not like Howe wanted to sell him either, this was forced on us by the cartel and their appointed rule enforcers. Villa have also seen their squad decimated for the same reasons. It's like being run by a third world dictatorship.
-
He became a figure of fun basically, quite a lot of our fanbase were dead against him coming here whenever his name came up. But I always thought he looked really good at Arsenal before he got replaced. Every keeper goes through a shaky spell, Pope has done the same.
-
It's funny because I actually thought he was held back from developing here by being shunted out to the left wing in his few appearances. He's thrived since being allowed to play more centrally. Not that it was anyone's fault, he just had too many players in front of him here. PSR is a destroyer of ambitious clubs.

I'm just glad it's been cleared up, that's the sort of stuff which can cause months of frustration.
-
Did any of them fund 50% from their own money?
-
Do us a favour mate and keep these sort of rumours to yourself. Unless it's concrete it's not the sort of stuff we need circulated.
-
There are no UK investors who would build a new stadium though.
-
While I am really happy with how he's looked in his brief appearances, I was a bit dubious about his signing just because of his spotty injury record. In that regard, this one doesn't inspire a bunch of confidence. I really hope it was just bad luck though, he will be brilliant for us if he can stay fit. We desperately need a midfielder who can break into the box, especially with a striker like Woltemade to feed off.
-
It is part and parcel of being a footballer these days though, will be the same whether you are a Newcastle young hopeful or Man U/Liverpool. These lads need a thick skin, and hopefully having a manager like Howe is invaluable here. Imagine if it was Steve Bruce or Graeme Souness.

Pope's been outstanding so far this season, would be criminal to drop him regardless of Ramsdale's ability. Otherwise I agree, Ramsdale brings more to the table as an all round keeper.
-
If anything I'm more impressed with him this season than I was in his breakthrough one a couple of years ago. Bournemouth were a nightmare to play against for a possession team, and I thought he was outstanding considering far older players were struggling to keep a hold of the ball with two players converging.

I think this thinking is part of the problem. While it's disappointing that they aren't funding ALL of it, from their POV it looks like, "Howay, why are you only spending a billion on us you fucking savages? You can do better than that!? " There's a fair amount of unspoken entitlement there which would not persuade me to part with a lot of money if it was me investing. The other side of it is, if they are only putting 50% of it in and we don't like them, would we prefer alternative - probably US owners who would probably load 100% debt against the new stadium. Or more realistically just don't build one.
-
Depends how much we'd be burdened under another owner I suppose. I don't think most owners would even bother with a new stadium, financially it's a massive investment with not much return for a long time.

His nimble feet have always been criminally underrated just because he's a big gangly fella who likes to barge lesser mortals around. His two goals last night showed just how twinkle toed he can be when he gets the opportunity.
