  1. Just don't see enough people getting in the box around Woltemade to get goals tbh.
  2. The accidental handball helped them quite a bit there.
  3. I was commenting on the starting line up posted tbf. But even with Barnes and Elanga in the equation, until I have seen it working the confidence is going to be less than it could be. There's hints of it gelling, it just hasn't quite happened yet.
  4. Hopefully he didn't sign the contract and turned round and came home while he still had it.
  5. Like I said, I just don't see the goals there, but it does look defensively sound so hopefully we'll keep a clean sheet and only need the one.
  6. I did say on here that I was a bit concerned that Leeds might not be the best move for just those reasons. There's a lot of pressure there, so he'll have to learn to deal with abuse when things aren't going well. But glad things are working out for him right now anyway.
  7. Still not feeling the goals in the front three so if we are a bit cautious in our line up I won't really mind.
  8. Much though I'd love him to fail, I can't get out of my head that he destroyed just about all of the top defenders in the Premier. Arsenal were terrified of him, and seems to me Virgil van Dyke was on a longstanding mission to get him to Liverpool after getting mugged by him regularly in the Newcastle/Liverpool games. He's still one of the best strikers, but hopefully he'll not fit Liverpool's system and they'll get tired of his play when he can be arsed attitude.
  9. Doesn't surprise me, Howe likes to go with the players he trusts.
  10. Longstaff along with Anderson and Minteh are players we have been forced to sell because of PSR. Pretty sure Eddie would have loved us to be able to give him a new contract and then if we sold, it would be at a price which was worth our while. It might be Longstaff would have left anyway just to get regular first team football, but at least it would be on our terms.
  11. I think you find this with a lot of players where the clubs have outgrown them. McTominay at Man U springs to mind. He was a very effective player up to a certain point, but once you start trying to progress to a very technical style of play, then every deficiency starts getting noticed ahead of the strengths. Longstaff was one of our best players when we weren't very good. He was physical, good engine, always had a decent strike on him, he scored some good goals for us. Leeds right now suit him down to the ground. They are a hard working physical team like we were under Rafa. They got a really good PL player for the money, but the really top teams wouldn't be in for him. Doesn't mean he's not a top player though.
  12. If you could criticise them for anything, they should have scored a second, they had some really good situations which they couldn't finish.
  13. Jammy bastards didn't deserve that. Lovely finish though.
  14. Not sure a player at a lesser club would have got away with that. He knew what he was doing.
  15. Don't know if it's just Spurs have been poor, but Wolves have been decent. Well worth the win if they see it through.
  16. Thought the same, reminded me of when he was here. I think Nuno's style suited him much better, gave him more space to do his stuff.
  17. They defend well and play as a team. That alone will keep them up.
  18. Not like anyone could have predicted it would go wrong bringing him on board....
  19. Think they might have struggled without the flying start they got thanks to a lot of luck and some tactical VAR help.
  20. Hoping he gets so pissed at being dropped for Isak that he's already plotting his next move to Spain.
  21. There'd be no refs left if we kicked them out for every shite decision. Not even sure what the rules are any more, they seem to change week to week.
  22. He's probably as fit as he ever was with us. We just set our team up to service him, Liverpool aren't going to build their team around him. They should have done their homework if they were expecting him to run himself into the ground for the team.
  23. Haven't said this for a while but can't wait for MOTD tonight.
  24. That's me as well tbh, just they are tears of joy and disbelief.
