    Alan Pardew

Whingeing aside we are 3rd in the premier. Fucking 3rd. How blase are we getting that moving up another place in the CL positions has almost got dismissed because we are pissed at the performance
  3. Both front lads have been quality for me, I still think that HBA in there instead of one of them would link up the midfield better. Plus Santon for Raylor will improve the side, no matter how well Raylor has supposedly done.
  4. I'd rather Pardew didn't play those "deserving" when he has better players chomping at the bit. You need that ruthless streak at this level, Keegan certainly had it when he ditched Kelly and Peacock. Pardew needs to also prove that he's got it. Ditching Kelly and Peacock was totally different, that was after the season had ended and we were bringing in new players for the following season, the current side is currently sitting 3rd in the league, unbeaten and has the best defence in the country(well it was before kick off). I want to see Santon and HBA in the side but you can't justify changing the team when its on such a run. I caught an interview on the radio with Pardew about 10 days ago when he was commenting about team changes and loyalty to players, said something along the lines of when he was a player he hated seeing players who were playing well replaced by other players and said as a manager he put alot of faith in being fair to his players and is loyal to players in possession of the shirt who are doing the business. Plus we have built up this great team spirit and bond, changing the team and replacing players who are playing well could disrupt the harmony, its easy to answer the players on the bench if they moan about not being in the side cos all you've got to do is point to the league table and say we are unbeaten, bit different explaining to players in an unbeaten side why you've dropped them. Imagine the stick pardew would get if he makes 2 or 3 changes and we lose! I can understand the loyalty towards players who have done the business for you, but I hope it doesn't cost us the game against Tottenham. They are a class above the teams we have played in the last couple of weeks and we didn't finish the game today so well, although Pardew's substitutions didn't help.
  5. It's always nice if you can make your mistakes in games which you still get all 3 points. It's not usually the case so whoop de do.
  6. I would just pick the side most likely to win the game. Spurs aren't Wolves or Blackburn, they have players who can hurt us so we will need to have enough firepower to hit them hard as well.
  7. If we get the right players on the pitch I think we can more than match Spurs. As there will be the whole country watching I hope Pards makes a few bold decisions and matches us up quality-wise to Spurs.

Someone said in the Tottenham thread that Santon won't start a game until we lose, and I sort of agree with him. It would be great if Pardew was the sort of manager who will shape the team instead of waiting for the results to go wrong but I don't think he is. We need changes for the Spurs game IMO but I doubt we'll get them. Not trying to put a downer on a flying start but the Spuds game is another level, and we are capable of winning it with the right approach.

    Sunderland...

    Why are they such spackers?
  10. Because those 3 offer absolutely bot all on the defensive side of things. I disagree, we were clearly inviting pressure on ourselves that half and they'd have at least meant we had more of the ball. Lovenkrands on is daft, he's better off bringing any of those 3 on and Cabaye couldn't have managed another 8 minutes? He's the best passer on pitch, you keep him on unless he's really struggling imo. It's the Lovenkrands one that's really strange though, Marveaux or Ben Arfa gives us more pace and possession whereas Lovenkrands is now just a poacher who will pop up with the odd goal. The other thing with Lovenkrands is he can't hold the ball. The last thing you need is a player who can't keep possession in a game like that.

That's what I was thinking as well at the time. Sammy is a player who's always up for a scrap whereas Guthrie and Loven would just get knocked over under pressure.

    Sunderland...

They drop another two points behind us. The difference is almost double figures I think. What a fucking disgrace mackems.

Another brain fart day but the result will cover all.
  14. 5 mins extra time. We'll do well to see that out with the way we are playing.
  15. Pardew playing it safe, too much for my liking. Marveaux or Ben Arfa would have given us something to hit back with, it's all one way at the minute.
  16. Not defending Loven because he's shite but I think he just wants someone to run around and close down. He's called him "his Mr 100%" before. Hatem and Marv are more likely to roam. Reminds me of last season when we were 3-0 against West Brom then we brought Smith on.
