I don't know how they are still in this but they are.

He's one of only two they've got. We could do without handing him the opportunity on a plate.

Ryan Talor costs us the goal. It had to happen. Ugly twat.

Ba will get a hatrick today and seal his place as a future toon legend

Game over. Ba is the real deal.

Honestly can't understand Pardew's thinking sometimes. As crap as Perch is, he's a utility defender, can play across the whole back four. Pardew mentioned he likes one of those players in the 18 (a while ago he referenced Phil Neville if anyone can remember). Nothing wrong with that but why not leave Lovenkrands out and have Ferguson on the bench in case Taylor gets crocked/raped?

This is why I say Jonas isn't the one who should make way for Marveaux.

There's a few weaker teams been drawn against each other so if we get through there's every chance we could get another kind draw. Maybe this is our year?

Yes he has. Everton look very solid defensively even if they haven't got much up front. I think they'll be major competition for us for the 7-10th position.

This is one of those landmark games in a season. A convincing win will have everyone believing that we can go on to have a good season, because if you can beat the poor sides fairly consistently, that's 90% of the job done. A disappointing result and questions will start to be asked and doubts will start to creep in.

Ironically being a cheapskate has probably safeguarded the future while actually improving the squad as a whole. If Shepherd had still been in charge he'd have caved in and handed out a lucrative contract to the likes of Nolan because it would curry favour with the masses and he'd fall for the guff that his captaincy was worth it. |It's one of the reasons we were in such a bad way when the club was sold, we had an astronomical wage bill which wasn't reflected on the pitch. From that point of view the article is right. The problem is that Ashley's refusal to spend more than the least amount possible could still end up blowing up in his face if the current set of strikers don't hit the net regularly enough.

i know sunderland have changed words, as have man utd, i'd guess every company that has an advertising account does.......or if they don't change them with permission they alter the context. Not being funny but a link would be nice, cheers. none to hand. check eyes passim (past editions of private eye is where i remember them from). do youthink it's only us that do that sort of stuff for PR ? Well no, the fact they're drawing attention to the day is not what's a bit odd here. As I say, I have no problem with the concept as such. I was just asking whether other clubs have taken blog posts directly and edited them in such a way. Fuck off. How's that for an answer? I know it's considered a pretty good one on here by some so it should serve fine here as well.

Maybe they don't want Newcastle or Geordies to appear thick cunts in front of the whole world?

Kluivert actually started 25 games in all competitions. How many did he start up front with Bellamy? The only reason I ask is because I remember one game in particular where they both started together and Kluivert brilliantly converted a superb cross from wide delivered by Bellamy, and Bellamy actually went on to publicly suggest that their partnership was the best at the club. I think that rattled a few cages at a higher level and after that we didn't see much more of either Bellamy or Kluivert.
-
That's funny actually. The Ghanaian's were worried about him playing in Sunderland...and after playing one season in that shithole he decided he'd rather play in front of one man and his extended family in the UAE
-
How many games did Kluivert start during his stint here? I know it wasn't many because he was up against Shearer. My lasting memory of him is he scored the goal that knocked a Mourinho Chelsea team out of a cup competition when they were champions with a glorious header. He was still a great finisher even when he came here but Souness didn't like him or Bellamy and got shot of them both. Then went on holiday with Shearer and Shepherd at some point.

Since Jenas has a much longer stride length, Cabaye would have to work quite a lot harder to cover that ground.

I don't know much about the medical side of it but at best it seems like they are hoping this will keep Santon going until January. Probably worth a try but the official line is that if it doesn't work he'll go back under the knife. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he lasts anywhere close to that.
-
I can still remember Souness playing Patrick Kluivert in midfield behind hot shot striker Shola. Tbf GHoeberX knew more about football than Graeme Souness.
-
He needs to look to get in the box more for me. Fergie likes his wide men to chip in with goals so if Obertan's the type to pass it then stop running then I could understand why he let him go. It would be nice to see him get in the box a few times and have a crack at it.

Smugness has nowt to do with it. He might succeed, but to suggest it is certain is no more accurate than to write him off.

It actually gave Shearer a new lease of life having so many quick players around him but Carroll could never replicate that because even if Shearer didn't move as well as Carroll, his control, hold up play, and intelligence was far superior. Carroll has some great raw attributes but as a team player he's not in the same league as Shearer. Or Kuyt for that matter.
-
It was even worse than that. In a meeting between techncians of the french federation, Laurent Blanc said something like "Black players = strong footballers physically without technique - White players = technique, intelligence - We have to much strong black players and not enough players like Xavi and Iniesta" After it was revealed by a web journal, he said it was misinterpretated... Where do arab players fit in? Is it a perfect blend of the two providing coffee coloured nirvana? Many in France think that maghrebians players have great technique without "football brain"... "savage technique" if you prefer Yes I can see it now. That Zinadine Zidane always looked a bit clueless on reflection
