  1. Tiote looking back to his cyborg best has helped and not launching the ball over their heads has definitely played a part. The midfield combo we wanked over all summer is finally coming to fruition.
  2. The people wanted Marveaux. The people were right.
  3. Deserved a win, and a bit more imaginative team selection from Pardew and we'd have got it. Good point though and encouraging for the rest of the season.
  4. Honestly Shola is just a waste of space. Not only will he take up the place of a decent player like Marveaux, but he'll fuck up Ba's game as well.
  5. I'm not watching this game live but I'll bet the reason the strikers aren't scoring from crosses has more to do with the quality of the crosses than the strikers movement.
  6. That Man U let him go for £3m always suggested it was going to be the case.
  7. Since both players have reputations for lack of end product it's hardly surprising we haven't scored goals this season. Even though I'm pleased we are actually playing football today, it all seems a bit powder puff.
  8. I doubt he will be. If they couldn't beat a side set up to invite defeat against us, I fear for their prospects against better organised teams.
  9. gulp That Defence is nothing to write home about mind. Bent will get chances and our only hope is that he is having an off day. If we get at them on the groun at pace aye, but all we'll do if hoof it high and long and see Dunne gobble it up. While I'm the biggest critic of the long ball game, I could even understand it if we were doing it right. If we want to recreate last season's "success" then I guess you would use Best as Carroll's replacement, Lovenkrands as the shit striker meant to pick up on the flick ons, and Gosling to replicate Nolan's goal poaching in the box. I'm sure Pards would love to use this model but he's been confused by our signings and is still trying to work out how to get them to fit in his big man hoofball utopia.

I wish some spiritual bastard would cough up the money and buy the club so it could be run according to our heritage then.
  11. That would do me, but I think I'd bring Gosling in and go with just Ba up front. Tough on Best but I just believe Ba will prove to be the quality striker in the long run.
  12. They can change that I assume. I can't imagine why you would have Guthrie, Gosling and Smith in the squad and no Perch. Do we really need Ba, Shola, Sammy. Lovenkrands and Best to fight for what will probably be one starting place? Seriously I can't imagine that is the match squad unless Pardew is trying to reincarnate as Graeme Souness.
  13. Tiote Gosling Cabaye Marveaux Jonas Not bad. I think we'll definitely have more midfield presence with that line up, it's then just a case of getting Ryan Taylor to resist the temptation of hoofing the ball or better still, play Feguson and we might see us play the passing game we were all expecting this season.

I don't think Pardew will play him tomorrow, he's just talking up his players in public which you should expect. Pardew made a massive blunder against QPR by leaving out a footballer for a carthorse and he more or less admitted as much when he said we should have gone with 5 midfielders. If he repeats this folly I don't see any reason to keep paying him for making daft decisions.
  15. Enjoyed that. Always nice to get a bit of insight into the Newcastle United dressing room. As if the frenchies weren't always going to sit together It sounds like everyone gets along fine though.
  16. Santon was a good signing, although obviously this is a blow. The real failure of Deadly Dekka was not signing Neil Taylor or someone equivalent to provide decent cover. If we decided against signing him because we felt that Shane Ferguson was going to provide the cover then get him in the fucking side. There is no way we should have to watch anti-football because we are forced to play cloggers like Ryan Taylor on account he can hit a decent free kick once in a while.

I personally feel fairly confident that it'll happen one day. Aye, I used to think he wouldn't because of the money generated by selling the advertising. But he clearly prefers advertising his own s*** for free We'll undoubtedly be fed some bullshit about it being for the season, as we have no worthy prospective sponsorship offers when the NR deal ceases. Correct. Wouldn't be as bad if they actually had a half decent logo, or you know, put some f***ing money into the club. Hmm, turns out I'm furious about this. Who knew you being serious ? Meant Sports Direct from all of the Advertising, not Mike Ashley I can't see that there's much difference since Ashley owns about 75% of Sports Direct. I just can't get wound up about the money aspect of it. As I said earlier he could get Sports Direct to pay something for this and he could also charge interest on his loan, he chooses to do neither and that's up to him. I'm more concerned about the degradation of a great stadium. I'm not too bothered about the degradation of the stadium in all honesty. More successful clubs than ours are sporting ridiculous names on their shirts and stadiums and no one gives a toss because they have been winning trophies. Ashley can stick Sports Direct insignia in Fenwicks window for all I care if he would actually spend the money required on a strong playing squad.
  18. No, let's compare Raylor and Ferguson. Who have been s*** two matches, and average (at best) two others? Who is the speedy, talented youngster who has a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and deserves a chance? Weird and stupid enough, it's quite obvious Raylor will keep his place. Shouldn't be. At all. All fair comment, except for saying "s*** two matches, and average (at best) two others" without mentioning that he scored the winner away to the Mackems! Give the lad some credit! And you were scoffing at me comparing Solano and Ferguson? Ryan Taylor hitting a dead ball well doesn't compensate for the fact he can't bring the ball out and totally fucks up our football with his panic stricken wellies down the pitch. Ferguson can play, he's done well previously and the Solano comparison is a good one because Nobby was the last player you would expect to make a decent full back. It's a ridiculous comparison tbh. How can you compare a kid to an experienced professional in his 30s? If it's so easy, you might as well play any old winger at full back. A player who can bring the ball out is the last thing I'm worried about when N'Zogbia's playing. He went up against Perch last time he played against us and absolutely tore him to shreds What makes you think he won't tear Raylor a new one? Ferguson is either left back material or he isn't. If he is then put him in and let him show what he's got, he doesn't look the nervous type to me. If he's not then we should have stumped up the money and got Neil Taylor in as cover.

  20. Ferguson isn't a left-back. Neither was Nobby Solano but he did a great job at full back for a large part of the season under Roeder. Because he was a good footballer.
  21. Start a new thread and let's vote on it
  22. Aye ok. Bet you'r bricking it really though
  23. Bet you said that before the Arsenal and Sunderland games too. I knew we could get a result against Sunderland because they're shite. The QPR game was some of the most abject, miserably fucking shite football I've ever seen us play - polished over by the miraculous result and the knowledge that Pardew would surely make the required changes at the weekend. With the same line-up against Villa it will be the same outcome, only this time they've got attackers who can put the ball in the back of the net. We're destined to be stuck with fullbacks who the goalkeeper, centre backs and central midfielders are terrified to pass to - and rightly so. Left backs don't usually win or lose games directly, but having somebody like Ryan Taylor there has a knock on effect on the rest of the team's balance and ability to play good football. Which was clear as day against QPR. It's easy making har har sarcastic comments but I can't see how anybody who watched the QPR game could disagree with that statement. It's as if people have just blanked it from their memory already. I'm not usually one to be overly negative but I'm going to be declarative here and say that if Pardew plays the same line-up, we'll get beaten comfortably. Every word is 100% true.
  24. Remember how Enrique and Jonas used to combine to give us a pass and move left flank. Have you noticed any difference since Ryan Dropkick Taylor took Jose's role?
