I think Joey has to have a go at Llambias because he was the one who prevented Barton getting a long term deal here. I'm glad we didn't give him one. His twitter nonsense was destabilising and in the long run I think it was best we let him go.

I'd like to see him played wide as I was under the impression he was a winger, but we seem to be playing him through the middle when we've used him.

I just used Smith as an example to show that discipline is only part of the equation for forwards, end product has to be factored in as well. Having too many players who do the right things from a defensive point of view like Shola, Jonas and possibly Obertan also reduces our chances of scoring goals as none of them have looked like scoring or providing assists so far this season.

In what way is Shola positionally or tactically astute? Genuine question btw, I'm not a Shola basher but you could stick Alan Smith in there if you just wanted a player to chase and run in the right places.

I was thinking we might try and play him through until January then get a full back in so he can go under the knife then.

Well it's better news but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't end up going under the knife again to sort it out once and for all. But at least it's just a case of cleaning up the scar tissue rather than cartilage damage.

He's in danger of being seen as nothing more than a super scout. He's made Arsenal a fortune over the years but his teams have become increasingly soft touches due to his lack of attention to the defensive disciplines required these days. I still think it's daft to talk of him being sacked though. They are still qualifying for the Champions League every year. Who's to say that his replacement will be able to match that?

Plus Villa didn't seem to close us down very well, we had time to knock it about. The top teams will go to smaller grounds and still maintain their passing success. It's about quality players who are able to keep their composure under pressure. Someone mentioned in the match thread about how Coloccini never loses the ball under pressure. The same was true for the most part of Enrique. If you could get that in all 11 players you'd see the passing game week in week out.

Is that actually true? It did cross my mind as well that Hughton's judgement had been vindicated but I was never sure if the board actually used that as an excuse to sack him or it was just a rumour.

Considering he wanted to get shot of Barton after clashing in a dressing room bust up in the season he took us down, but was happy to join in the MOTD wankfest over Joey for public consumption today, makes me question his judgement even more. He's either a good liar or just clueless as Barton claimed in his dressing room bust up with Shearer. Or maybe both.

I think Ba will offer more and will compliment a midfield of Jonas, Tiote, Cabaye and Marveaux with Ben Arfa given a free role between midfield and BA. Good shout. That's no disrespect to Best either, he was written off far too early when we signed him. Same as Ba has been after a couple of poor early performances.

I get the feeling that Obertan is getting starts ahead of Marveaux because he's a Pardew signing. It's been reported previously that Pardew wanted to sign players with English football experience, and we've seen Shola preferred over Ba, and Obertan over Marveaux. Experience isn't always superior to intelligence and quality though, and I think Marveaux and Ba have a far higher quality pedigree to both Shola and Obertan.

In all honesty Taraabt and SWP have made the biggest difference to QPR. Movement, skill and great end product on the flanks has made the job of the players in the centre so much easier. Watching QPR at their pitiful stadium with their shite support, it just seems pretty obvious that he went there for money reasons only. If we were going to spend daft money on a player, I'd rather it was Taraabt from what I've seen so far. Looks real quality.

Pardew told Five Live earlier this afternoon he is going to play. Wanktastic. A 20 min cameo from the bench would be just the job.

I wonder if this is still on? What a lift it would be if he's fit enough to take the bench for the first time this season.

I think it was a good move for Barton, they've got some good movement with SWP and Taraabt which will allow Barton just to sit in and play his own game.

Don't count out Sameobi either. If he can get enough time on the pitch the lad's definiely got an eye for goal. Plus Gosling will look to score goals once he's up to pace.

I can see Ba getting a few if we play the football we did today and get some quality service in from wide.

While I think he's been a lot better than he's got credit for, I just don't see him or Jonas providing enough goals or assists to justify them both starting. Marveaux looks like he has a lot better end product and we need that in our side. Obertan would be useful from the bench, but at this point I think Jonas should still be ahead of him to start games.

I don't know why he keeps getting to cover our matches then. He's been sniping at us for years. He makes Paul Merson look like a closet toon fan.

Would love to see Ferguson given a start at left back, and Sammy playing as the second striker off Ba.

Goal hunger. It's what separates him from other limited footballers like Shola. You just know he's going to get a shot or a head on goal at some point in a game. He's my fucking hero tbh.

At least we played to the strengths of the players we've bought for the first time this season. Obertan needs to be the impact sub and Shola needs to be left off the team bus. Once Pards comes to understand this we will turn these draws into wins.

Neither am I because Pardew's a bit of a knob really.
