  1. We couldn't pay Sturridge's wages, wouldn't matter if he was for sale for £10m, never mind £20m.

The way things are going Agent Bruce is going to get his cards before the job is done. Hopefully that clueless Irish prick Quinn will dither long enough to see them through the trap door and Brewcie seal the MBE
  3. I know Stoke are our direct competition for the hallowed top 10 finish but I still want them to beat the Kop Kry Babies. Go on my Stoke.
  4. Counting down the weeks when he can escape the hell hole no doubt.
  5. While I've made the same point myself a few times, I think it was a mistake for Llambias to say it publicly. Obviously if an owner thinks he's hated by the fans he's not going to feel like spending his own money on the club. But to say that openly is frankly stupid. It makes you look petty and it's not the image a professional businessman should want to display. It's probably the only answer I think was a bad one, the rest were fairly decent.

Don't think we'll have to wait too long for that either.

the idea that these are the only two credible choices is astonishingly stupid tbf. though quite entertaining to watch the mental contortions you put yourself through in order to defend the indefensible. one of the other alternatives is to try and effect change whatever way you can. i'd say pardew is pleased to have such a big job considering his career record is mediocre, so he's not going to give it up just yet. but that's not to say he's not disappointed in the board, as any manager in football would be working for such unprofessional clowns. for the next few months and going into the january window he'll be walking a tightrope, trying to engineer pressure for funds, using his influence both in public and behind closed doors, while at the same time trying to stay in the good books of his employers. won't be easy. not surprising that you are oblivious to this subtle and complex course of diplomacy. It's a dangerous game playing both sides though. While it's daft to suggest he should quit, there's every chance his employers might get itchy fingers if they think he is fishing for sympathy at their expense. If he loses his job not many Newcastle fans who he is trying to appease will give a flying fuck so he should perhaps choose his words with a bit more care IMO.

    Sunderland...

Which Sunderland players reside in Newcastle? At this point it's probably worth pointing out that Gateshead and Northumberland are not part of Newcastle. most newcastle players live in newcastle and its suburbs, how many sunderland players, for the record, actually live in sunderland? plenty of footballers who have played for both newcastle and sunderland have ended up living in Newcastle city centre. Has a single player from either team EVER lived in sunderland city centre? how come you don't find Newcastle players clamouring to live in Albania on wear? Odd, isnt it? Kieran Richardson and a few SAFC players live(d) in the Echo 24 flats near the Wearmouth Bridge. My mate used to live there and often saw him in the lift. Quinny has a place in there also. Several SAFC players live in the Ashbrooke area of the city, which is very nice and there are a few others in other parts of the city as well. There aren't many in the city centre, but that is perhaps something to do with the fact that there isn't much choice in terms of posh apartments. The majority of those living on the Quayside on Tyneside live in Gateshead (Baltic Quays). I'm not suggesting for a second that some SAFC players don't live or go out in Newcastle (though Darras is in Northumberland in point of fact), but this notion that no SAFC players live, drink or eat on Wearside is just that: a myth. Randy, you talk alot of sense for a mackem. You're an upgrade on the last mong but that sentence is bollocks. Let's be honest here, those players live near Newcastle because that's where everything half decent is. There's no two ways about it so let's not play games. If there were lots of plush luxury apartments in Sunderland city centre I think some players would happily live in them. It doesn't mean they would have to go 'out' in Sunderland. They opened the Echo 24 ones and players/staff moved in subsequently e.g. Richardson and Quinny. A player living in Sunderland doesn't preclude them from going into Newcastle if they so wish. I'm not going come on here and argue against claims that Newcastle has a nicer city centre than Sunderland; it should do given the greater level of money invested in the place. However, as I said earlier, this notion that no Sunderland players live in Sunderland, or would ever eat in restaurants there or go out in the town is tripe. I'm not saying all our players do but plenty do. Those Echo24 flats are total shit, like The Bar in town. When you pull up from the bridge to the traffic lights a lot of windows literally just have sheets up as curtains. The place is literally a set shitbox plasterboard flats for people who earn £1300ish a month. Considering THAT is the best quality modern living in Sunderland says a hell of a lot about why most players live in Durham or Newcastle. Saying that, Sunderland does indeed have a nandos, so that's your black lads sorted. As if they'd actually step foot in Sunderland town centre. They'd end up being chased down the streets by slack jawed mackem yokels with BNP memberships. Which is 90% of them.

It would have been better if he'd just kept quiet about Lovenkrands and Shola tbh. It's just rubbing our noses in the dirt.
  10. Little rascal who wanted to stay or nasty Dek & Chubbs? You know what's coming.................... Doesn't stop it being cringeworthy as far as I'm concerned. Like I said it becomes disrespectful to all the excellent servants to the club who got muted/negative/no reception from our support if Joey Barton gets his name sung. That's rubbish - the fans have an affiliation with him and if they feel the need to show it/sing it then that's upto them. The fans at the match bear little resemblance to those on here in my experience. I think his affiliation with our support is overplayed and his hero status to be over the top for what he contributed to the club. Hence why I'd find it cringeworthy. I find that fans at the match and those on here both have a wide range of contrasting opinions. For example, the lad that sits infront of me fucking hates Joey Barton whereas our resident German would probably have his children if medically possible. Tis a game of opinions. You'll have to tell the lad in front to boo loudly when we play QPR at home to make his opinion heard then because he'll be drowned out by those cheering imho. FWIW, and you can say what you like about JB, it's never at any stage made any sense to get rid of him for nothing. Something else which would have irked the away following and probably majority of home too. Fans are entitled to have their heroes, and if ours want to make one of Joey Barton fine. The fans can think he was worth £6m if they like but that doesn't change the fact that no decent club was willing to pay money for him. In fact no decent club was even willing to take him for free, otherwise I'm sure he wouldn't have picked QPR as his club of choice. There's the cold hard reality.

    Alan Pardew

I would agree that Pardew needs to stop playing the double game, but to suggest he should quit is a bit much. Maybe he should learn to reign in his patter though. The gushing praise of Barton while the player himself was taking potshots at the clubs owners was a dangerous game, and it gives the impression that everyone isn't pulling in the same direction.

    Alan Pardew

I regard him now as I did when he came here. I'm not particularly concerned about his relationship with Mike or Dekka. I'm more interested in how he uses the resources available to him which is all we can judge him on at the end of the day.
  13. Good read that Enjoyed that immensely. Great to read the Newcastle fans spokesman's views as well as they coincide with my own, especially on the view that Barton is slightly over-rated by most Newcastle fans. Something I see Sewelly has echoed on the site. The QPR guy who wrote the original article was very clued up on Newcastle.
  14. There is a difference between sentimentality and man management... such insight. raylor's had a decent start, he's scored two free kicks but other than that been ok at the job he's there to do primarily. if you want to reward him leave him in the position he's had a decent start in, or put him at right back where simpson's been poor. don't weaken our midfield needlessly just to keep his spirits up, it's counter-productive. Raylor has been used at right midfield before, Pardew might well see him as a possible replacement for Barton. Might be worth a shot as he wouldn't be playing too far forward in a 3 man midfield.

    Everton, screwed?

I thought they used the same guy we did at the time? If it didn't work then why would it work now?

What is the protest hoping to achieve if you don't mind me asking? Kenwright has said he's skint. Unless there's a buyout what are the options? What do the protesters want him to do?
  17. Don't see why he would have any more problem slotting in at left back that Ryan Taylor did, it's not like he hasn't played the position before.

Why is it a problem? You have to wonder why it's even being brought up as an issue. Has someone complained they aren't getting a break? I always assumed not many black players looked on coaching as a career after football.

    Sunderland...

Buying a gaff in Durham by all accounts. Can't say I blame him for staying well away from Sunderland. I try to use the metrocentre as little as possible because it's crawling with mackems most days. Most of them standing with gaping mouths stunned at the sight of more than three national retail outlets in one location.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Bendtner called in a sickie during the week and turned up at Longbenton hoping for a kick around after our training session. It's a lot closer to Jesmond where he'll be living after all.

I think he'd have come here without a second thought if we'd given the slightest hint we were interested. An arrogant tosser like Bendtner would fancy he belonged at the more glamorous clubs and without meaning to offend our Wearside neighbours that would be us not Sunderland. Christ almighty. You've got to love the sheer arrogance of Newcastle fans, dear me. Aye, I bet Bendtner was desperate to swap Champions League to move to a team who finished 8th bottom last season. Why not? He finally accepted a move to the shanty town a few miles away, what makes you think he wouldn't have jumped at the chance to move to a more high profile club for the sake of a point or two difference last season? He probably only agreed to move to Sunderland so he'd get more exposure to the Newcastle management. Not that it'll do him much good, as I suspect Ba is probably considered higher quality by Newcastle management. Keep on posting, your posts make me smile. It's no wonder Newcastle fans have the 'deluded' tag with posts like this. Yes, that's right it's me that's deluded fucking hell

Way to put words in Pardew's mouth Pardew finding it hard to keep a lid on his frustration with the board there tbf. Good on him.
