This window is a good barometer as we've had a season back in the premier and we've sold players for big money.

I'm sceptical about that too, in fact I actually believe they don't intend to spend much. Enrique leaving doesn't have much to do with that though, I just think circumstances have evolved to the point where he is bound to leave. As for signings, praying we get a LB and another striker, and that they undervalued like the players we've signed already. I don't blame Enrique for wanting to move up a notch, I just didn't think he needed to kick up a stink about the new deal not being good enough. If you can do better fine, get your new club to make a proper offer and get the deal done.

Becoming clear he doesn't respect anyone really, especially authority, bosses etc, he's the bloke you know who has been sacked countless times after arguments with his bosses but its never his fault. Strange that he didn't seem to have a problem with his bosses before now, though. Aye. It's not like he was kicked out of City or squared up to Shearer in the dressing room is it? Man City was between him and another player, hardly his boss. Against Shearer, well, that was after a match in that he got sent off, probably knew we would get relegated, and was very much pissed off. Hardly something what couldn't have happend to anyone. Well if you ignore the times when he fell out with his previous bosses then yes you are right. He never had any problems with his previous bosses.

Has anybody came out and confirmed that anything in the Chronicle is true? Has anybody other than Barton come out and confirmed that it wasn't? Who are you expecting to do that when the club roll out fines for players speaking to the media and not towing the party line? I'm not the one who keeps asking for confirmation of every single comment. Tell it to Johnny and Mick.

No but Danny Simpson seems to think he's not a problem and other younger players seem to be taking his side in this. The only ones going against Barton is the press who will be getting information from the club which is one sided. Leon Best said the stuff about a poor spirit in the camp was rubbish. i bet we don't. You may hate the people running the club, but do legitimately think they will happily enter the season without any leftback at all? This seems absurd. It's also typical of the knee jerk doomsday mentality among some fans. I'm sceptical as most when it comes to us spending money but it doesn't mean all reason has to go out of the window.

I listened to the interview and he just seemed as clueless as ever. Reckoned Joey Barton was worth £6m and we should have sorted things out with him. Like we sorted things out with Bellamy and flogged him for less than half his value eh Fred? Stick to buying schools and 2nd rate Spanish clubs Fred, they'll accept cash no questions asked over there.
