  1. Think it's just disappointment that we took the lead twice and couldn't hold on.
  2. Never mind they had a good first 15 mins before their legs seized up.
  3. Think the momentum is with Barnsly now. We'll do well to win this now.
  4. Sounds like another very tough, professional performance away from home.
  5. Looks like we are just sitting back and letting them do the running now.
  6. If only it was just that. He'll probably be out tonight for a piss up and a fight. In fact he was probably out last night. He doesn't seem the brightest of bunnies, does he ? A thickie who doesn't learn from his mistakes. Typical charver. It's not like he needs to fear for his future is it? Six days later and he walks back into the team with a pat on his back and a licence to party.
  7. We've started off well before only to run out of steam after 20 mins. With Smith, But and Nolan in the middle there must be a good chance we'll do it today as well.

  9. Never mind, he's back in the first team. Carry on boozing son

    Nile Ranger

Nile has missed a few but he still looks like a forward who is finding his feet at this level, and can get a lot better. He's getting in good positions and given time I reckon he'll score goals to add to his generally excellent work as a target man.

Or maybe we made him look worse because our central midfielders all sat back watching instead of offering options? Was it their faults as well that he couldn't beat the first man when crossing? Beckham doesn't do that either but he gets crosses in that count. I don't think Milner is owt special even now btw, but he's being used more effectively than he was here. Probably just clueless management IMO.
  12. It's a constant theme that all of our central midfielders seem to end up in the centre circle in the holding role and the forwards are left isolated. This has been the case whether Barton, Smith, Butt, Guthrie or Nolan have been in the side, sometimes near enough all of them. Even Nolan who has scored goals in his forays up front spends the majority of the game catching his breath in his own half. Which of that lot would you describe as box to box? Guthrie is probably the closest in effective terms for me.

  14. I was disappointed that Hughton played safe and didn't give Guthrie a go in Nolan's place on Wednesday. I suppose Hughton can point at the result and justify his decision but it puts a big question mark over his trust in Guthrie's role in the squad. If Nolan was available he'd have played, what was Chris scared of in putting Guthrie in his place?
  15. They're all the fucking same. And I don't think we've been playing all that great. Worth remembering that our fixtures are like a cup final for all these teams which makes it a bit harder to play flowing football. Interesting how the teams who raise their games against us go on to lose to lesser sides when they're not pumped on adrenaline.
