1. He was linked with Everton a couple of weeks ago now it's our turn.
2. That's how I read it, obviously next couple of games he might be needed in midfield (though I'd personally start zog ahead of him in that role) but usually he isn't a starter there so there is the option that he could cover Beye's position. He was outstanding at RB during the ANC and he's played that role at Chelsea even though Jose knew he isn't the quickest. His passing and link up play is much better than Taylor or Edgar so what you lose in strength you gain in skill and intelligence. It's all very well complaining about injuries but other clubs have even less resources and seem to find a way to get by. Hull reserves have coped with us pretty well this season.
3. Solano wasn't quick but he was surprisingly effective at right back. You wouldn't expect Geremi to be overlapping too much but he could do a defensive job IMO.
4. Has Joe missed a trick with this one? Geremi was outstanding there in the African Nations cup, and Jose used him there for Chelsea. With our finances stretched to the limit, are we making the best of the resources we have got?
5. For who? Barcelona or Man U I would agree. If you are talking about us then which alternatives would you suggest? Duff? N'Zogbia? No your right there isn't an alternative its a position I see the club should be buying for. I think we should be buying for more or less every other position except that one as it happens.

7. How did he come good? One of the most overrated players we've had. I mean overrated as in a sense how the fans praise him for his time here due to this cult hero status he gained. Sounds rather like Gutierrez. Sibierski was a bad footballer but scored goals. Jonas is an excellent footballer but doesn't score goals. Problem is he can't deliver them either. Not that old chestnut. He's set up at least a couple in recent weeks (Martins vs Villa, Owen vs Portsmouth). Watch his assists there passes not deliveries from wide. He has some fantastic attributes but they are not of a productive winger. Maybe he's just unconventional. Maybe if we tried playing players to their strengths. Jonas is never gonna be a great crosser of the ball, but he can pick out a cutting pass. Maybe if we had a decent balance - a decent right winger who can make up for Jonas' unorthodox approach - and maybe, just generally, if we had a manager who had a fucking clue - we'd see the best of the likes of Gutierrez. Call it clutching at straws if you like, but i've not seen anyone play for us who is quite like Jonas. I think he'd slip into a top 4 team with no problem tbh. Maybe if he had a clever forward like Anelka or Torres he would be able to slip them in with some clever passes rather than wing over high crosses hoping Andy Carroll gets a header on target. Michael Owen there isn't many better in the league in terms of final movement. Gutierrez doesn't even look to deliver and for me from what I've seen doesn't have a particularly creative pass in him. I mentioned Torres and Anelka for a reason, they are both quick enough to be slipped in on goal. Owen's final movement is a last minute change of direction which is why he is relying on headers more these days.
8. I know what you mean, but surley he wouldnt mention something like that if its literally never been discussed? Even thinking about a new contract for Kinnear at this stage is crazy & so un-ambitious. Why wouldn't he mention it if he's constantly talking rubbish?
9. But he's a right back by trade. Would be a good replacement for Beye while he's injured, not to mention a very decent centre back.
10. I don't believe Kinnear has been offered a new contract any more than I believe he is serious about signing M'Bia. Joe is just flapping his lips because it's the only form of exercise he's capable of these days.
11. Micah would have been out of our bracket a couple of years ago, he'd be perfect for us in theory covering both the RB and CD positions. The only doubt is whether he's turning into another Bramble, unable to deliver on the initial hype.

He must be a really bad player while Sibierski is a really good one.
14. Liverpool are about 400 million in debt and they still haven't bought a stadium. oh dear. How come they haven;t gone into administration instead of buying Torres, Kuyt and Keane ? They have been getting it wrong all these years. If Liverpool don't get bought out they could be in the shit further down the line though. Who would have thought Chelsea would be cutting back on their spending a year ago?

16. Link? Come on Dave, we all remember it. I remember him appointing Kevin Keegan and saying money was there 'if Kevin wanted' a player. Seems a bit at odds with the pretty straightforward explanation that we're skint as f***. Theres still no suggestion that he wouldnt puthis and in his pocket when keegan was signed - hence the bid for AModric amongst others. We knew that finances were tight at the point that mort said "we were close to collapsing like a house of cards". I dont understand, though at which point did you think we were ever flushed after the owner having to put £100m into the club to keep us afloat? ~EDIT: For me personally, these accounts dont excuse Ashley from spending any money but they do go on to explain the absolute nessecitiy of the system and its importance to the club. I never thought we were 'flushed', but then I saw the owner come out several times and say he'd be looking to back his manager with significant funds to improve the first team. That didn't happen IMO. I seem to remember when Mort came out with that quote, most people were still fully behind Ashley. It's what's gone on since then which has turned many, hence my request for a link from Ozzie. I can't recollect 'no fucker' believing him, apart from NE5. I was thinking about his explanation of subsidising the club to the tune of £20 million per annum. Plenty of people moaning ever since that he obviously wasn't doing this, though I can't be arsed to look for links. 10mill already into the club and a supposed 10mill in this window (m'bia and other alleged bid by kinnear) Do you actually think M'bia will end up here though? I'm highly sceptical.
17. That's amazing. I didn't think Fulham would accept £5m and I certainly didn't think he'd actually go there. As you say, perhaps we've dodged a bullet. Have you seen our central midfielders? Have you seen his wage demands Fuck me..are you telling me Hull can afford to pay bigger wages than Newcastle United now? The shame of it...
18. I don't get that at all - Wise was spending money on Xisco on Gonzales when all Keegan wanted was a left back. In the summer I was saying that we needed a big mobile striker and a central midfielder as a priority as well, and quite a few people here were saying similar. At the time Enrique and Zog seemed decent full back choices though Keegan was probably right.
19. That's the key, but the difficult thing is - how do you know when someone should be given time and will turn it around, and when they're just shit? In our case I'm pretty convinced our managers were just shit.

21. When all's said and done, Ashley's not exactly penniless, he probably could release more funds if he really wanted to stay at Newcastle, but I don't think he does. He's probably worried that spending on the squad will increase the selling price of the club, putting off any future bids. Especially since the prospective buyers have mostly been relative paupers compared to the premiership big guns.
22. Yes if he still has his pace of course. Scored some crackers in his time although a few years back Look on the bright side then, he could provide an alternative to Martins.
23. I don't usually agree with the NUSC view but the only reason Liverpool are sought after is because of their sustained success over the decades. Otherwise it was just an ordinairy club in an ordinairy city before Shankly. Not sure that KK would make much difference though. Fair enough but what about the interest in Chelsea who would cost a lot more and I would argue are less prestigious than us historically? I agree, this is something we have lost. During Keegan's first spell we were obviously a far more attractive proposition. Owners like the arabs want a club which will give them stature, Liverpool offer that right now, we don't. Re-building our stature is a big job and it's going to cost a lot of money. Throwing money at it doesn't necessarily work either, that's why we have been haemorriging money for years now. The club has been badly run.
24. Can he play up front as an out and out striker? We are desperate for some pace and goals.
