http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~1226385,00.html Cheers. Will be interesting to see Viduka with the ball played to feet and if it makes any difference to the overall play of the team.

I see the concept of supporting the board and Keegan for beyond a week is going to be difficult for many here.
-
Does anyone know that Viduka is fit for sure? It's possible he may have tweaked a hamstring getting up from his seat at Burger King.
-
Why automatically blame them? Keegan would have had a say, I'm sure. Not just had a say. I imagine its Keegans appointment. But no lets all jump on the "we hate our owners" bandwagon. Precisely. If it's Keegan's choice and it's done with the blessing of Mort, let's get on with it.
-
If he is holding back then Keegan won't stick around that long. so you are speculating on what Keegan might do, based on the speculation of what Mort might have done? Hypothetically speaking of course. If the Chairman is not doing his upmost to get the players in the Manager wants then would the Manager stick around? Quite an easy equation to make really. Well if Mort called Keegan a short-arsed cry baby who should go back to Glasgow, I don't think Keegan would stick around either. Hypothetically speaking.

Reading that interview just re-inforces why he should be a cult hero. Class act, and a model pro.
-
Just be patient this season, we have nowhere near the quality of squad that Keegan will demand, and the media will pile pressure on for Keegan to fail. We will need to adopt a siege mentality until we have the players to compete.
-
That doesn't mean a lot tbh. You can get players scoring three goals in one game.
-
I haven't seen that much of him, but he looks just as likely to hit the corner flag as the back of the net. If he can finish he's worth £40m. If he can', knock one zero off that figure.

Emanuel Pogatetz, Chris Riggott, Robert Huth David Wheater & Woodgate all play centre half & Jérémie Aliadière, Lee Dong-Gook & Mido play up front. They need a striker & to afford the fee + wages of striker like Alfonso Alves, Woodgate is being sold to balance the books or at least get a bit of balance. Yeah, Wheater has emerged as a good centre half and Pogatetz is very underrated. Huth and Riggot are decent back up players to have so they won't really miss Woodgate. They desperately need a half decent striker though. Any team would miss Wodgate, he's a class ahead of all those players. They are getting shot because he is, and always has been an injury-prone liability. One whose nose is probably caved in from snorting too much charlie if you believe all you hear.

He's exactly the kind of player that will shine under KK tbh. Why do people keep saying that? How come Martins has never shone under any other manager? Keegan liked Asprilla and there were similar criticisms of him back then. I am pretty sure Keegan will see the good side of Martins game not just the negatives. Fast, packs a decent shot and not bad in the air for a small guy.

Just seen this thread and it's pretty much on the button. The one thing people should rest assured about (those who weren't around last time Keegan was here) is that we will buy top forwards. Keegan likes his strikers and if he needs 2 he'll buy 5. I can't recall for certain but I'm pretty sure he took to the field with Beardsley, Asprilla, Ferdinand and Shearer all in the same team last time round.
-
Put Adebeyor in our team and we might have won. Maybe, but as someone mentioned yesterday iirc, a superstar striker would paper over the cracks in midfield. Agreed, the midfield needs attention as well. But Arsenal don't look half as dangerous when Adebeyor's not playing. He's transformed their side.

I wouldn't be surprised if Spurs didn't sign him either. He'll have to get through a medical first.
-
Like I said in the other thread, no new signings is probably better if you take a long term view. Keegan will get to assess his squad and see where changes really need to be made. Milner's a prime example. Looks great on his day and Keegan might have been impressed, but has he got the bottle to make it to the top? Is Enrique a flop or will he settle to become a good player? You can't judge these things short term.
-
With Keegan out of the game so long, my initial instinct was that he should wait till the summer to make any serious moves in the transfer market. Fair play if he knows who he wants if he can get them, but I'd like him to wait till the African players are back so he can at least assess the squad properly and see where we need re-inforcements. How much does he really know about Beye for example? I'm not even really sure he's had a proper look at Enrique yet. You can't find out about a player in just a couple of weeks, he'll learn a lot more by the end of the season.

Here's something else which is worth drawing Sam's attention to. He might need to read it a few times before it registers though - the thick plank
-
Nor do Tottenham, but they managed the other night by attacking and going 2-0 up inside half an hour. Arsenal look a lot shakier sans Toure. We'll probably get beat. So what? Never expected anything else. Their kids made us look a joke when we tried to defend against them. Exactly. What have we got to lose? We aren't a bunch of strong remorseless cloggers like Sam's Bolton, who's only function is to stop better teams playing. The only chance we have is to get at them, owever small that chance is.
-
Reading that, it's like waking up from a long, morbid dream. It's so refreshing to hear. Not because it sounds good but because it's the best approach we could take anyway with these players. We have looked awful when we've tried to sit back this season, we just aren't cut out for it. We will look much better letting our players play their natural game, even if we lose.
-
As I said, we already have 5 - 7 pts on them. I know which points total i'd rather have. depends on what their fixtures are like. I'd be surprised if their run-ins are as difficult as ours, so I wouldn't get too complacent just yet. If they've played half of the season and are shit, why will playing the same teams again make them less than shit? I don't get it. When shit teams play each other, one of them will get points regardless of them both being shit. Which is why we need to pick up points and considering our fixtures aren't the easiest, it might not be straightforward. It's not likely to happen but there is enough reason not to take anything for granted.
-
That means they'll be picking points up as well though...

I think Keegan's brand of football will make the likes of Zog and Martins look 10 x the players they have been under Allardyce. I'm one of those on here who didn't slag Dyer's footballing ability either because I knew what we'd be like when he left.
