That's who I was thinking of. I understand he's not maybe as flashy, but I think he might be effective.
-
Or even an underwhelming one who turns out to be a lot better than many fans might think.
-
Why give him the benefit of the doubt?
-
I don't know if it's just me, but the Sela emblem looks less phallic on the green shirt.
-
Don't know where I read it yesterday, might even have been Sky Sports, but Chiesa is apparently looking at other options now since we won't be meeting his £52m valuation. The suggestion being that he favoured a move here all things being equal I guess.
-
It's a loan move, hardly a terrible deal for a relatively young left back who can motor a bit. At that level it's a decent move for both parties. He's got good core abilities, a good coach might well be able to get a tune out of him.
-
They obviously just assume viewers are really thick. I don't know, maybe they are, maybe it's just people on here who don't want to listen to clueless battering us with their awful opinions.
-
It's always been suggested we'd get a couple of major signings through the door, and maybe 2-3 lesser ones including loan options. I don't see any reason that would have changed, still expect at least two more in personally.
-
Never seen him but was quite positive about the initial reports, but then I read here that he's not particularly quick and that put me off pretty much. We definitely need someone with a turn of pace in the CB department.

So was Dyer though, that was my point. Bellamy was treated like a lovable rogue, as you yourself have alluded to. Dyer was hated by a large section of our fans and there was no 'But he's our twat about it". I don't know if you were part of these forums back then, but there was a fair bit of genuine hatred expressed towards Dyer by a pretty significant section of the posters.

Whitley Bay is considered upmarket now, property prices in some parts reflect it as a place people want to be.
-
Both would be better than last season you would imagine, I also expect Villa to provide a strong challenge as well.
-
Carver was actually the worst manager I can remember in recent memory, he just struck me as a charv who had somehow landed a coaching role. For some reason I can't get the image of him walking home with a carrier bag of cheap lager from his local off licence out of my mind.
-
Bellamy was a bit of a horrible cunt tbh, but he has always been treated as a hero, although I'm not sure that love was returned in kind. Always thought he was a bit sniffy about his time here.
-
Dyer was really hated on the forums back then. I mean I get he wasn't the nicest fella, had a touch of arrogance, but you would have thought his sheer ability and excitement factor would get him some grace. But not really, there was some nasty posts around him.
-
I'd switch over the the BT football show if it didn't have that prick Robbie Savage on there.
-
Even if we were allowed to buy him, what makes anyone think he'd come here above all the other super clubs who I'm sure would have an interest? I think we are a year or two off being able to attract the best of the best just yet.
-
Realistically we'd struggle to get much more than £30m from any team outside of Saudi so best just take the money and keep quiet.
-
Have you seen Barnes' finishing off either foot?
-
Getting fed up with it by now tbh. Every Italian player under the sun is on the way here if you believe that drivel, including 36 year old central defenders.
-
Sounds like they'd like to sign him but still expect him to choose us.
-
Would you like to be the type of club which gets hurdles chucked in our way while others enjoy the benefits of heriditary privelege? Privelege backed by big money for the past 30 years by the way. I agree with you in principle but we are in for a long haul if we follow that logic, and fans need to understand it. Expectations need to be lowered next season for sure.
-
Which is fine, none of those have ever won major football tournaments though. And the question about peripheral vision stil stands.
-
So if you look at that, do you think as a player it might be a bit harder to pick out a team mate against all that green than if you were wearing a different colour? Not for your Jonjo passes obviously, where you've got 5 mins to line a pass up, but for a reverse pass where you are relying on peripheral vision?
