  1. He's a lot better poster than some of ours. We'd be hoying bricks off heads if they were taking our best players.
  2. This went through my mind as well, if only because as a club we are going to have to start making money on players, and it could be argued that there is a way to sell players at maximum value and replace them with potentially better if you are smart with your recruitment. Pains me to say it because emotionally you become very attached to your best players, but we've seen with clubs like Brighton it can be done.
  3. The Milan media's absolute fury at this makes me thinks this must be a real goer. I promised myself I wouldn't watch videos of players until they've signed but I just couldn't resist. He looks fucking mint.

If we sign Toonali and Maddison instead, this thread will go from being diabolical to delicious within the space of one window. Oh how we would laugh at Froggy.
  5. Looks an absolute boss.
  6. This is why it's called the rumours thread. Absolute mayhem in here. I'm heading back to the Toonali one.
  7. I do feel a bit sorry for Italians, they love their football, but their days as the ultimate football destination for top footballers is over. They are struggling to come anywhere close to matching the top clubs in England and Spain. They virtually HAVE to sell us Tonali for around £50m, despite the anguish it may cause at home.
  8. I mean you do realise how a tap in merchant operates right?
  9. It's why I didn't take your film review of Heat that seriously. Woosh!
  10. I'd be more than happy with Tonali though. He looks a damn fine player.
  11. Just watching some videos, that's how he looked to me as well, couldn't really work out the DM descriptions.
  12. Yeah he looks pretty mobile from what I've seen. Also doesn't really look a typical DM in the PL sense, more of a deep lying playmaker if anything.

    Joelinton

Yep, must be hard for the PL based players who get drilled into pushing up and pressing to suddenly change gear into a much slower tempo that you typically see in internationals.
  14. I wouldn't mate, I'd stick this in the Check back Later folder along with Barella. Don't know where these rumours are coming from but if there is a bid then I would think it's been leaked to get the price up quite a bit. Difficult to get excited at this stage.
  15. I always saw Targett as a very solid defender, and useful, if somewhat limited going forwards. He doesn't add an extra dimension to your attack like the top tier full backs do. No idea about Robinson tbh, never pay much attention to other team's players until they are linked with us.
  16. £30m is a fair whack to spend on a full back mind, he'd have to be the complete package to justify that outlay. Both going forward and defensively.

Same here. I was reading back through the thread from the last page and was worried he'd eaten tiger soup in Asia at one point.
  18. Paqueta has turned out pretty well for West Ham though.
  19. Fuck me, fill the bath and pass the razor blades.
  20. But no one is suggesting that they haven't been a better club over 17 years, they clearly have. But they are on the way down and we are on the way up. If a player prefers to live in London, that's a separate issue, good luck to him with it. We'll buy a player who wants to win stuff.
  21. In any case, Maddison will be one of a few players we'll be looking at for the position. If it's not him, it might be Sobozlai or Arda Guler. Or who knows, maybe even Barella. There are some exciting options if we can land one or two.
  22. Spurs are on the way down. The good thing about someone choosing them because they are London based is that we get to target players who are hungry for success.

No. I don't agree with it either, but that's football these days, you are either on the inside, or you are outside looking in. I prefer being inside and being able to compete, but agree would be better if clubs weren't state owned.
